    I'm a trail worker here in The States and your work is stellar and certainly makes me want to get some more time building MTB trails; maintain this sick level of work and the videos that are artistry in and of themselves.
    Not sure if it means much, but I showed these to my brother who isn't an outdoorsman in the slightest, and he simply said:
    'It's criminal that this guy doesn't have more subscribers, I couldn't stop watching.' and I can't agree more. Keep it up! (also an Alaska mill overview would be sweet)

    • @cutlaps

      Hi Nico, stoked you found my channel! Very cool you are out working on trails as well! And thank you for your kind words, it means a lot to me. Very cool that your brother liked my videos as well. I great to know that my content is interesting to people outside of the MTB community. It gives me more hope that this channel could really blow up one day.
      I have had lots of questions about the Alaskan Mill on instagram as well. I think I will need to do a dedicated video for it.
      Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment.

    Favorite moment, Luke running through the trees @5:21 🤣 best shot @5:39 with split action!!! I’ve been there when berms don’t feel right, looks like the deeper curve holds you in better. Love the late night dig session @2:50 before buddies arrive, been there too 😆 @4:47 I had a feeling that 2nd to 3rd turn wanted to be jumped, you could lift the end of the second to create more fall in the transition between the two.
    @5:07 you were right those rollers are fine and something to progress too.
    @5:15 sick knolly!!!
    What a great build and video, so awesome to see your trail coming together!!!!

      Hahaha I was wondering if you would notice me legging it through the trees! Thats me with my camera in hand trying to get the shot and not fall over. Amazing how smooth they come out.
      Yeah a couple of extra loads of dirt at the end of that 2nd berm would give you a bit of a kick.

    Luke - once again, great video! You are killing it in the production quality and content of your videos. I enjoy your enthusiasm and drive to create a great trail. Don't forget some tech thrown in just to keep the riders honest... you don't want too much flow! Maybe a rock garden to break up the flow? Call that new S section the Aussie Flow section - there are a couple S's in Aussie to compliment the extra curves/burns you've added.

    • @cutlaps
      @cutlaps  2 роки тому

      Thanks Joseph! I like the idea of the tech keeping the riders honest 😂. It's just a bit of a struggle to have a rock garden with the current trail. The only rocky sections are in really sandy soil and they aren't very big. So after a couple of rides the come loose. So sadly I think this trail will be without a proper rock garden but dont you worry! I have been exploring the property and have found some perfect tech lines through janky rock. Some really gnarly stuff that I don't even want to ride. Definitely some tech trails coming in the future. And Aussie flow works with back to back Ss. I like that.

    • @cutlaps
      @cutlaps  2 роки тому +1

      Man, they killed it. So good to see, and lots of fun to ride with them. The drainage plan for the new berm is down the inside and then I need to shape a dip in the trail where I want the water to cross. But I wasn't exactly sure where yet because there will be a bit of a trail change coming up. The dip doesn't have to be deep but the wider the better. The wider it is the less erosion happens.

      Yeah I have a list of videos I would like to create and that is one of them. But pretty much I shoot in 4k at 25 frames a second unless I'm filming slomo. And I often use a tripod. It really depends. Usually planning it out doesn't take too long because I spend so much time at the trail and I know where everything is. It depends on a lot of things. Some dirt breaks up and washes away a lot quicker. And if you have lots of riders using it, it will deteriorate quicker. This berm is probably 2 years old now and I haven't done any maintenance to it. But it doesn't look as smooth as it used to.
