I totally get what you mean about finding people annoying who cant have a full conversation without trying to be funny. For this show though I dont think the comedic relief moments cheapen the serious moments. Momo and Okarun are awkward teenagers and they act like it. However I will say that even though it can be dark this show is not a super serious, hype, battle shounen. Its more of a supernatural romcom at heart.

The show is not always making jokes after a serious moment, you judge things too fast based on just a few moments, this show on the first eps is more fun, but later on, they do let the serious moments last longer, literally the next mini arc had a scene that i cried while reading I understand if you dont feel it now, but thinking you know how the entire show is gonna be by the first 4 eps, and based on previous shows you watched...that is what i disagree, you judge chainsaw man at first saying that you werent gonna get emotional at the deaths, because of course the characters would come back, because you saw so much anime that they would, but chainsaw man wasnt that type of show, those characters were gone for good, but you were confident they werent despite not actually knowing how chainsaw man is, the same way dandadan isnt just a goofy show, it has serious moments that linger when they should, 2 little arcs that i think this season will adept have huge moments of seriousness
To be fair she's seen 4 episodes now.. if she's still not into it then she should probably just drop it instead of pushing on hoping the pay off is worth it as generally the pay off is not normally worth it for most show's if you're already not liking it much. As someone who's pushed through quite a few shows that I wasn't really feeling I can confirm.

I get not liking when people/characters make light of serious moments, but its a defense mechanism for a lot of people, especially in the early stages of new relationships. I feel like you're hyper-fixating on that aspect, and its killing whatever enjoyment you could get from the rest of the show, but 🤷♂ Different strokes, I guess. Besides the really emotional moments of the show, (which we haven't even really seen yet) comedy is almost always gonna interrupt the serious bits. If you can't loosen up a bit when you sit down to watch this, knowing full well it's meant to be a supernatural rom-com, you're never gonna enjoy the show. That's fine, but don't force yourself to keep watching something you obviously dislike. The amount of eye rolling we've seen from your reaction to the last two episodes says more than any explanation ever could lol
This story does tend to have some pretty meaningful and emotional moments in between all of its ridiculousness. Especially for some character back stories. But there is still a lot of silliness and hijinx. So understandable if it’s not for you.
Your mental health should absolutely come first. Im a massive fan of both the manga and anime, but even i know theres going to be people that dont feel the vibe, and thats cool. We dont all have to agree on the same stuff. Do what makes you happy.
I'm absolutely lovin' DanDaDan, and the gonzo style it's going for is fun to me. If the gonzo aspect is too much then obviously drop it. Ya can always come back to it when you get in the mood for something unhinged.

I don't think I gel with this comedy style. It genuinely isn't funny to me. As for Mob, Mob lets you sit with the emotional moments and actually lets them breathe. It allows the characters to reach a conclusion or lesson to take away from the conversation. In this show, the characters immediately have to follow up a vulnerable moment with some out-of-pocket commentary that has nothing to do with anything and it's just a huge turn off for me. If you can't handle a serious conversation without cracking a joke to ease the tension, to me, it shows immaturity, which given they are children, I guess that makes sense, but again so is Mob and the characters don't do that in that show so idk. I just don't like the show. I'm not saying no one else should, I just clearly have different taste and want different things from my shows. Different things will work for different people and that's okay!

To judge a whole show especially a long running Shonen off its introduction seems like jumping to conclusions. I feel like mob found the perfect balance between comedy and introspection. This show is a bit too chaotic for me. The balance is just off. I just wanted to point out how this episode ending kind kf is foreshadowing how you felt like this is gonna be a final goodbye to this series for you. But then they said, "see you tomorrow".
Don't force yourself it's okay. I honestly don't mind if you're not that into the show and I think it would just be unhealthy if you press yourself further. It's unfortunate that you won't reach the following great arcs and the expanding cast of characters, but I don't think it won't matter if your heart isn't into it. Take your time and maybe who knows you'll probably appreciate it next time or maybe you'll like it better just not in a reaction video form.

You need to get out and find something to do with other people, like some kind of hobby club (I recommend an acting course). You may think I'm mocking you, but I'm not, quite the opposite. I've been watching you for a long time and recently you've started behaving and talking in a way that is typical of someone who is chronically online. Believe me, the world isn't even 10% as scary as people on the internet try to make it out to be but one can't be happy reading posts and comments like that over and over again. Force yourself to go out, force yourself to go to some classes, force yourself to interact with other people (it will be awkward at first, yes, but all it takes is a little determination and others quickly get used to our awkwardness) and although it probably won't cure your depression, it will allow you to change your view of the world and maybe push you in the right direction.
You should just stop. Like I said last week this is by far the best new show of the season but why watch it if you don’t like? It also makes your reactions extremely painful to watch to a point it’s just sad. The try “wow, ah, oh, hehe” are really painful and make the reaction very bad.
I mean if you wanna drop it thats fine. As you saw in this episode it will have serious moments and honestly most of the spirit related stuff is (given they're dead people) serious backstories and as it goes on they get more comfortable with eachother aswell. As you saw again at the end they said see you later because they felt bad saying goodbye, theyre relationship will evolve eventually. But alot of the alien stuff is silly so i understand if you might not enjoy those parts.

It's no problem if you want to drop it. The series has a mix of serious moments, comedy, a bit of romance throughout, but it does have a tendency of breaking the tension for a moment of silly.

I highly recommend you to see "chi - chikyuu no undou ni tsuite" or "Orb- on the movements of the earth" It's about heliocentrism, and how it was a heretic crime back then by the church in europe. Shows the protagonist tying to prove it in admist of the punishment for such heretic behaviour, saying that the earth isn't the center of the universe and instead we go around the sun First 3 Chapters are incredible, if you're not hooked by then it's not your type of story. But if you do... oh boy here we are for a trip
yea if you're not feeling it don't force yourself, especially if you're feeling depressed. but honestly i think dandadan is a great balance of sci-fi, comedy, and action that's finally getting the recognition it deserves. ik it seems silly and unserious at times but in future arcs there are serious and even dark moments that show its versatility as a series. but if you didn't really like these 4 episodes so far that i consider peak asf then yea it might not be for you. as someone who fws ur reactions it sucks to hear you're not feeling it; i recommend sticking w it but ultimately up to you.

Honestly, yeah you probably are not the target audience for this one... No hate or anything, it is not for everyone and that is what makes DanDaDan special... It is clear the first ep did not land well with you and now you have kind of a bias. Like the comedic timing stuff, its not that the show doesn't know how to be serious, since it has some of the most heartbraking stuff I-ve seen since Woder Egg Priority, the show is really deep, but if you take it all at face value you wont be able to see what makes it shine... If you want to continue then you should let it pile up and then binge the next arc, that way you can avoid any pacing issue.

No one can tell you how to run your channel but during these last two episodes, it's like you've just been too harsh and nitpicky. One day you're calling episode 3 boring and now this episode is not leaving room for touchy-feely moments? The point of that scene was a teaching moment for Okurun and Momo that they had no business fighting Granny in the first place and everything that happened was because Momo and Okurun disrespected and trespass on the grave site because of a bet, not because Granny was evil. You don't need 5 flashbacks and a dozen lines of inner monologue like in Demon Slayer and My Hero to convey that message; they learned, they paid respects, and they went back home at night so how is Momo and her grandma resuming life ruining the moment? I feel like since both of those series ended you're tryna fill the void when this series is more in line with Chainsaw Man and that started slow too, with Denji just being horny and Power being a maniac until the hotel demon. For one, the kids actually act like real kids instead of teenaged licensed therapists on My Hero. So they're going to be insecure, awkward, moody, irrational, mean for no reason, unable to properly communicate their feelings, and most importantly crack jokes or try to act cool as a defense mechanism. You get mad at Okurun for "ruining the moment" after Momo is earnest with him, but he's just an awkward boy who never had an actual friend. Whenever he lashes at he's just being flustered and embarrassed. The relationships are real and genuine and not "My bully told me to kill myself in episode 1 but he mellow out after I got powers to fight him back". Even with the Grandma and how you're saying she was "problematic" when she knows they're just kids and tries to relate to them and be on equal terms. Like how did you think she was serious when she was racing with them to the bathroom literally the episode before? Like I said you can drop it but it's a bummer when you wanna see one of you're favorite reactors react to a show you're liking and they're just no giving it a chance
Half of this episode freak me out ( and y'all know what I was talking about..😱) but the other half was incredibly amazing! Like momo is like a genius like it was like she got them JOJO intelligent and all ! Lol !😄 and at the end ken and momo are so adorable together..!😊
Completely understanding the weird reaction to the show as a whole, the first episode gives it some weird uncomfortable vibes, but if I was gonna say an episode to stop on I would do episode 5. It’s got a nice wholesome vibe to it despite the first episode and gives you a real overall feel of the series. Either way we love your reactions. And happy late Halloween. Edit: also I’m sure they already said it but the first episode is the most uncomfortable one. It’s downhill from here in the SA and creepy aspect in that sense and uphill in comedy, romance (especially) and action. Definitely doesn’t lighten up maybe with some of the darkness tones of it, but overall it’s a lot lighter than people expect coming into it after chapter 1 & 2 or episode 1. At its roots, it’s a love story lol.
As someone who has read every issue of the manga and looks forward to it every monday, I have to admit that if I was going in blind, I would've dropped it too. The truth is that some scenes/jokes just don't translate on screen (they barely work on the manga), and should've been either removed or tweaked. I also dislike the sappy music they play on EVERY emotional conversation, like the audience isn't smart enough to feel something without a musical cue. And yet I hope you don't drop it all together, or if you do, give the manga a chance. Some of the short stories they mix as background for new characters are some of the most mature, touching, realistic and raw portrayals of human nature and what love (or the abscence of it) can cause. It's nothing short of a work of art, and I really hope they don't drop the ball when they get there. And as someone who still deals with depression from time to time, my best advice is to take break. If your audience can't understand it, then they don't deserve you, and by forcing yourself to watch something you start with a predisposition to feel that as a chore, and the chances of you enjoying it are close to non-existant. Depression is no joke, music sound dull, movies are a bore, food has no flavour. You keep going out of inertia, when maybe the right choice is to put the time in undersating why you're feeling that way, instead of looking for ways to feel different. I don't know you, but the fact that you were willing to voice how you felt instead of faking enjoyment for views, tells me you'll get through whatever you're going through. Take care and remember you're never alone.
Not every series is for everyone. I think it's amazing series and gets better and better, but you shouldn't have to force yourself to get to that point for yourself.

I totally get you, if you dont like the show, then I think it's best to just not force yourself to watch it. I've had my fare share of people not enjoying stuff that I consider really great ie: berserk, but ultimately its your choice tbh and we respect you for it. There's still a lot of anime this season, Dandadan is just one of the animes that a lot of people including me wanted to get adapted, being a manga reader for the longest time. But I do hope you would prioritize yourself more than anything, waiting for the new show you'll be watching in the meantime

Same for me too. Something about this show, i feel like its just missing something for my taste but i dont know what. I would suggest maybe tey 'Grand Blue' or 'The Disastrous Life of Saiki K' . Both Comedy/Slice of Life Might be good change of pace.
I'm glad you gave it a fair shot. But yea, if you're not vibing with it by now, no one will blame you for dropping it. It's a really fast-paced show. The manga is the same way, all it's moments not just the emotional ones, are only around long enough to have an impact, not really to sit on.
Clicking with a show do be subjective and i had the same experience with dungeon meshi. Feeling a little guilty when your circle of friends all like it, but i just dropped it after ep3 but it is what it is as they say.
Everyone saying that the show will eventually change dynamics and tones to change her opinion should realize that in an ideal situation an author should be able to hook you on their product since the first beats. If they don’t manage to do it by episode 4 it’s absolutely natural to move on. Opinions can change on internal and external circumstances, but definitely not by forcing your opinions on her in the short term just because you disagree with her judgement. Circumstances change and so does the willingness to pick up something you interrupted It’s no big deal
I believe you should watch more episodes. The first 4 episodes are just a prologue to the whole story, merely an introduction. Manga actually has some serious moments, much more serious than most animes have, so I don't think you will be disappointed when you see them and perhaps you will even be surprised. And I don't believe that it's actually a comedy in a sense that the whole point of the show is watching how slowly but steadily characters develop and their relationships with each other deepen. Or well at least watch one more episode, because I believe this Turbo Granny arc isn't finished quite yet. No pressure XD

I think it's very good if you don't force yourself as a reactor to finish watching something that you don't enjoy so much. I wish more people would do that. With Dandadan, I also have the feeling that you have to be very open to the genital humor that teenagers tend to enjoy. Some shows are just not for you. For me, it's Jojo. It's too crazy for me, but I like Dandadan.
The anime is way better than the manga. NGL you should finish the series. Dandadan is one of the few series that successfully blends action, romance and comedy in a supernatural setting. It also has the hottest GILF in anime with funniest luck cat that will appear in the next ep.
It’s totally up to you. Yeah this episode was okay but it’s kind of a let down they ended it right there, especially since it gets a lot better and we have to wait another week or so for it to actually get interesting. (manga reader btw) But take a break if you need to. I have a lot going on too personally so I haven’t been feeling catching up on last season’s anime.

I get not liking when people/characters make light of serious moments, but its a defense mechanism for a lot of people, especially in the early stages of new relationships. I feel like you're hyper-fixating on that aspect, and its killing whatever enjoyment you could get from the rest of the show, but 🤷♂ Different strokes, I guess. Besides the really emotional moments of the show, (which we haven't even really seen yet) comedy is almost always gonna interrupt the serious bits. If you can't loosen up a bit when you sit down to watch this, knowing full well it's meant to be a supernatural rom-com, you're never gonna enjoy the show. That's fine, but don't force yourself to keep watching something you obviously dislike.

This story does tend to have some pretty meaningful and emotional moments in between all of its ridiculousness. Especially for some character back stories. But there is still a lot of silliness and hijinx. So understandable if it’s not for you.
Your mental health should absolutely come first. Im a massive fan of both the manga and anime, but even i know theres going to be people that dont feel the vibe, and thats cool. We dont all have to agree on the same stuff. Do what makes you happy.

I don't think I gel with this comedy style. It genuinely isn't funny to me. As for Mob, Mob lets you sit with the emotional moments and actually lets them breathe. It allows the characters to reach a conclusion or lesson to take away from the conversation. In this show, the characters immediately have to follow up a vulnerable moment with some out-of-pocket commentary that has nothing to do with anything and it's just a huge turn off for me. If you can't handle a serious conversation without cracking a joke to ease the tension, to me, it shows immaturity, which given they are children, I guess that makes sense, but again so is Mob and the characters don't do that in that show so idk. I just don't like the show. I'm not saying no one else should, I just clearly have different taste and want different things from my shows. Different things will work for different people and that's okay!

I feel like mob found the perfect balance between comedy and introspection. This show is a bit too chaotic for me. The balance is just off. You need to get out and find something to do with other people, like some kind of hobby club (I recommend an acting course). You may think I'm mocking you, but I'm not, quite the opposite. I've been watching you for a long time and recently you've started behaving and talking in a way that is typical of someone who is chronically online. Believe me, the world isn't even 10% as scary as people on the internet try to make it out to be but one can't be happy reading posts and comments like that over and over again. Force yourself to go out, force yourself to go to some classes, force yourself to interact with other people (it will be awkward at first, yes, but all it takes is a little determination and others quickly get used to our awkwardness) and although it probably won't cure your depression, it will allow you to change your view of the world and maybe push you in the right direction.
You should just stop. Like I said last week this is by far the best new show of the season but why watch it if you don’t like? It also makes your reactions extremely painful to watch to a point it’s just sad. The try “wow, ah, oh, hehe” are really painful and make the reaction very bad.
I mean if you wanna drop it thats fine. As you saw in this episode it will have serious moments and honestly most of the spirit related stuff is (given they're dead people) serious backstories and as it goes on they get more comfortable with eachother aswell. As you saw again at the end they said see you later because they felt bad saying goodbye, theyre relationship will evolve eventually. But alot of the alien stuff is silly so i understand if you might not enjoy those parts.

It's no problem if you want to drop it. The series has a mix of serious moments, comedy, a bit of romance throughout, but it does have a tendency of breaking the tension for a moment of silly.

yea if you're not feeling it don't force yourself, especially if you're feeling depressed. but honestly i think dandadan is a great balance of sci-fi, comedy, and action that's finally getting the recognition it deserves. ik it seems silly and unserious at times but in future arcs there are serious and even dark moments that show its versatility as a series. but if you didn't really like these 4 episodes so far that i consider peak asf then yea it might not be for you. as someone who fws ur reactions it sucks to hear you're not feeling it; i recommend sticking w it but ultimately up to you.

Honestly, yeah you probably are not the target audience for this one... No hate or anything, it is not for everyone and that is what makes DanDaDan special... It is clear the first ep did not land well with you and now you have kind of a bias. Like the comedic timing stuff, its not that the show doesn't know how to be serious, since it has some of the most heartbraking stuff I-ve seen since Woder Egg Priority, the show is really deep, but if you take it all at face value you wont be able to see what makes it shine...
If you want to continue then you should let it pile up and then binge the next arc, that way you can avoid any pacing issue.
Like I saw a guy who pointed out how Turbo Granny saved Momo in ep 1 from the Aliens, which takes a whole new meaning after ep 4

No one can tell you how to run your channel but during these last two episodes, it's like you've just been too harsh and nitpicky. One day you're calling episode 3 boring and now this episode is not leaving room for touchy-feely moments? The point of that scene was a teaching moment for Okurun and Momo that they had no business fighting Granny in the first place and everything that happened was because Momo and Okurun disrespected and trespass on the grave site because of a bet, not because Granny was evil. You don't need 5 flashbacks and a dozen lines of inner monologue like in Demon Slayer and My Hero to convey that message; they learned, they paid respects, and they went back home at night so how is Momo and her grandma resuming life ruining the moment? I feel like since both of those series ended you're tryna fill the void when this series is more in line with Chainsaw Man and that started slow too, with Denji just being horny and Power being a maniac until the hotel demon.
For one, the kids actually act like real kids instead of teenaged licensed therapists on My Hero. So they're going to be insecure, awkward, moody, irrational, mean for no reason, unable to properly communicate their feelings, and most importantly crack jokes or try to act cool as a defense mechanism. You get mad at Okurun for "ruining the moment" after Momo is earnest with him, but he's just an awkward boy who never had an actual friend. Whenever he lashes at he's just being flustered and embarrassed. The relationships are real and genuine and not "My bully told me to kill myself in episode 1 but he mellow out after I got powers to fight him back". Even with the Grandma and how you're saying she was "problematic" when she knows they're just kids and tries to relate to them and be on equal terms. Like how did you think she was serious when she was racing with them to the bathroom literally the episode before? Like I said you can drop it but it's a bummer when you wanna see one of you're favorite reactors react to a show you're liking and they're just no giving it a chance

Completely understanding the weird reaction to the show as a whole, the first episode gives it some weird uncomfortable vibes, but if I was gonna say an episode to stop on I would do episode 5. It’s got a nice wholesome vibe to it despite the first episode and gives you a real overall feel of the series. Either way we love your reactions. And happy late Halloween.
Edit: also I’m sure they already said it but the first episode is the most uncomfortable one. It’s downhill from here in the SA and creepy aspect in that sense and uphill in comedy, romance (especially) and action. Definitely doesn’t lighten up maybe with some of the darkness tones of it, but overall it’s a lot lighter than people expect coming into it after chapter 1 & 2 or episode 1. At its roots, it’s a love story lol.
As someone who has read every issue of the manga and looks forward to it every monday, I have to admit that if I was going in blind, I would've dropped it too. The truth is that some scenes/jokes just don't translate on screen (they barely work on the manga), and should've been either removed or tweaked. I also dislike the sappy music they play on EVERY emotional conversation, like the audience isn't smart enough to feel something without a musical cue. And yet I hope you don't drop it all together, or if you do, give the manga a chance. Some of the short stories they mix as background for new characters are some of the most mature, touching, realistic and raw portrayals of human nature and what love (or the abscence of it) can cause. It's nothing short of a work of art, and I really hope they don't drop the ball when they get there.
And as someone who still deals with depression from time to time, my best advice is to take break. If your audience can't understand it, then they don't deserve you, and by forcing yourself to watch something you start with a predisposition to feel that as a chore, and the chances of you enjoying it are close to non-existant. Depression is no joke, music sound dull, movies are a bore, food has no flavour. You keep going out of inertia, when maybe the right choice is to put the time in undersating why you're feeling that way, instead of looking for ways to feel different. I don't know you, but the fact that you were willing to voice how you felt instead of faking enjoyment for views, tells me you'll get through whatever you're going through.

I totally get you, if you dont like the show, then I think it's best to just not force yourself to watch it. I've had my fare share of people not enjoying stuff that I consider really great ie: berserk, but ultimately its your choice tbh and we respect you for it. There's still a lot of anime this season, Dandadan is just one of the animes that a lot of people including me wanted to get adapted, being a manga reader for the longest time. But I do hope you would prioritize yourself more than anything, waiting for the new show you'll be watching in the meantime

I'm glad you gave it a fair shot. But yea, if you're not vibing with it by now, no one will blame you for dropping it. It's a really fast-paced show. The manga is the same way, all it's moments not just the emotional ones, are only around long enough to have an impact, not really to sit on.
Clicking with a show do be subjective and i had the same experience with dungeon meshi. Feeling a little guilty when your circle of friends all like it, but i just dropped it after ep3 but it is what it is as they say.

Everyone saying that the show will eventually change dynamics and tones to change her opinion should realize that in an ideal situation an author should be able to hook you on their product since the first beats. If they don’t manage to do it by episode 4 it’s absolutely natural to move on.
Opinions can change on internal and external circumstances, but definitely not by forcing your opinions on her in the short term just because you disagree with her judgement.

I believe you should watch more episodes. The first 4 episodes are just a prologue to the whole story, merely an introduction. Manga actually has some serious moments, much more serious than most animes have, so I don't think you will be disappointed when you see them and perhaps you will even be surprised. And I don't believe that it's actually a comedy in a sense that the whole point of the show is watching how slowly but steadily characters develop and their relationships with each other deepen. Or well at least watch one more episode, because I believe this Turbo Granny arc isn't finished quite yet. No pressure XD

I think it's very good if you don't force yourself as a reactor to finish watching something that you don't enjoy so much. I wish more people would do that. With Dandadan, I also have the feeling that you have to be very open to the genital humor that teenagers tend to enjoy. Some shows are just not for you. For me, it's Jojo. It's too crazy for me, but I like Dandadan.

The anime is way better than the manga. NGL you should finish the series. Dandadan is one of the few series that successfully blends action, romance and comedy in a supernatural setting. It also has the hottest GILF in anime with funniest luck cat that will appear in the next ep.
May I recommend you watch the English dub? I personally find it more enjoyable than the sub.
