This episode prove this adaptation is done very well, I read the manga so I knew what was gonna happen so I was very curious as to how the would adapt this part, this right here, is the heart pf Dandadan. This manga is an incredible mix of comedy, romance and tragedy, and the studio understand it perfectly.

For someone who doesn't know what's going on: The mother was in debt, and the anime subtly hints that she worked part-time jobs and even resorted to prostitution to repay it. She used the money that was supposed to be paid to the Yakuza(japan's mafia) to buy clothes for her daughter instead. So, the Yakuza came and took her child away. Yes, the Yakuza is indeed involved in human trafficking and forcing women into prostitution. They might have taken the child to sell organs or force her into prostitution. In such cases, it's almost impossible to get the child back in Japan, and the mother knew she would never see her daughter again. That's why she ended her life in such despair. It's really SAD!😭😭😭
It could be possible that the debt was left by her husband and they were after her to repay it. And true, the child was most likely killed too. It was somehow depicted in the manga that they reunited in the afterlife that's why Aira said to take them to a more fortunate and kinder world.

yeah they give justice with the animation, I am already crying a river when I read this in manga and seeing it animated with great animation to portray the emotions is PERFECT. Absolute respect to the animators/producers of this.

This anime has the mix of everything that was missing from new gen shonen animes.....it has comedy....romance....action....and tinge of tragedies....and a plot to rotate around a bit pervert but a great new plot....with great dialogues........nowadays new gen shonen were either using death as their moving plot or just were moving forward due to animation

Honourable mention : Rin She saw her friend die and blame herself for it. (While I think evil eyes backstory was sad. It doesn't make me feel sad. Evil eyes story make me feel angry more than sad.... Angry and hate toward Cultists and their stupidity)
I can guess what's her story: She studied ballet but got pregnant so she has to left her career aside to rise her daughter and because she didn't have any school grades she had to take low payment jobs and get indebt with the Yakuza, so she had to sell herself for money and give It all to the yakuza. Her error was that dress she bought with money she had to give to the criminals. The yakuza takes the child in exchange for the money she usted in the dress.
A great occasion is somehow spoiled for us unless photographed, and to read about it the next day in the newspaper is oddly more fun for us than the original event. This is a disaster. -Alan Watts

She’s looking at the stars in the night sky to remind her what’s she’s working for, a better life, as it’s quite obvious for her that the life she intended for isn’t anywhere on Earth. She does one final jump and although she looked weightless, despite her efforts and hopes, she is claimed by reality as she plummets towards the ground.
When you understand the context that the girl was kidnapped as part of the payment and to remove her organs or child exploitation......it stinks bro that day I felt disgusted internally knowing that that happened was a slap in the face of reality .....😶💔
