this also showed that aira could see spirits since she was little because silky was already dead at that point. i believe she just forgot since she didn't realize it was a ghost so her power went dormant until she found the ball
No it's just the old tropue that is common in eastern, western and African supernatural folklore where children, babies and animals can see evil spirits because of purity etc. Aira had no dormant powers at all.
Acro Silky's JP VA is in fact the same person who does HxH's Palm, good ear. I don't think it's just a coincidence they chose her either, probably a bit of a wink wink nudge nudge moment from the production.
Amazing episode. I was all for the dub and I’m sorry to hear people didn’t like it. But this is one of the best reaction videos you guys made. I already liked Dan da Dan but now I see it in a much different light. Great videos guys
It’s upsetting that people disliked the video just because you watched the dub. People should come to experience content with you, but it’s your experience that you’re sharing with us. Not their experience to dislike. Enjoy it for what it is. I’ll support you guys through whatever
I believe most ghost/yokai in many folklore not just Japanese are born through either regret, loss, or obsession. It's what keeps them from moving on and after a while their pain causes them to change over time.
This episode, without a doubt, entered my list of traumas, along with the episode of Full Metal Alchemist where the girl turns into a dog. For those who are already a father or mother, the weight of this ep is infinitely greater... it hurts the soul
Usually they say when ppl die, they relief from all the suffer and pain in the previous life and their spirit move on to a different realm. However, if the spirit thinks it has some unfinished business, or cannot let go of something, it probable remain in the world, and depends on what happened might turn into a evil spirit.

@@_General_Grievous__ in what other way can i show my discomfort if not by using a tool that was placed to measure this? maybe also commenting but im sure you find this obnoxious even if its once and respectful
I love what they did with the music, most of the episode is completely silent or the soundtrack is extremely subtle which made the music from Acrobat Silky's flashback hit WAY harder. The direction in this episode was insane. 2:36 Btw some nice detail about the colors they use is that it seems to give attention to whatever character is the main focus of what is happening. In the first episode there was green shading related to momo's power, then there was a lot of red shading which represents Okarun and Turbo Granny and this one was pink which represents Aira.
I was raised by a single mother (along with my sister), who was kinda struggling financially even if it wasn't that bad and I still saw my father. But what really killed me in that episode, is how even if it was hard for these two, even if in some ways they were a bit miserable (I don't know if it's the right word in english), they were still happy and the little girl was so thankful to be so loved, she had all she needed. Because that mother gave all she had so her daughter and her could have their little happiness. They didn't ask for much. But even that much was too much, since those motherfuckers had to destroy it. Toward the end when she said (to her daughter in her mind) she's sorry because she (daughter) would have been happier if she hadn't been her mother, it's really sad. That mom gave everything she could to bring the minimum confort to her daughter, the best she could, and in the end she felt she wasn't enough. Thank god Aira did that at the end, I would have had trouble continuing watching otherwise.
Children are theorized to be predisposed to see ghosts and spirits. This is why Aira was able to see Silky combined with the fact that they both were looking for a mom/child respectively. I love how DDD plays with the supernatural and it's been fantastic so far. It has everything. Definitely my anime of the season.
Back in the day, people used to get bullied for liking anime. Now it's accepted in Mainstream Culture but anime fans themselves push people away because of their Sub-Only Prefrences. Im sorry that your last video got so much hate, yall didn't deserve that.
It’s upsetting that so many people disliked just because you watched in English lol. The JP has better voice acting but the dub for this still hits and delivers the comedy aspect well. I watch both and people should enjoy it how they please
I didn't leave a dislike but I wasn't happy about it because there was already an expectation set for the the series to be in sub (ep 1 to 5), so the change was jarring. It would've be fine if it was dub from the beginning.
It’s called appreciating a foreign show in its native language. I would do the same for a Spanish show or a Korean drama. Some of us don’t have a issue being able to read subtitles and want the most authentic experience from the country that brought Dandadan to us.
You call us weebs for appreciating authenticity meanwhile you are a super casual who would watch any foreign show in English regardless of loss of nuance and butchering of characterization of characters in the show.
The worst thing to happen to anime was to make it accessible to casuals. Those of us who have watched countless anime and love the culture and the Japanese anime industry voice acting talent are the original fans.
It was very subtle, but she was in debt with the mafia and used part of the money she would use to pay them, to buy the pink dress to her daughter instead. hence why they came after her and her daughter.
Idk why i havent seen many people say this but Momo really is the MVP of this ep and this entire arc honestly. In this ep alone, her battle awareness, ability to think on her feet, compassion, fighting with a handicap THE WHOLE TIME, saving Okarun by kicking him out the way in record time, saving Aira's life etc. MOMO IS QUEEN!!!!!!!! All Hail Momo!!!!!
From what im able to gather it might of been that silky wanted to buy her daughter a nice dress for her birthday and took money out of what she owed the yakuza which we see her take some out of a envelope which is truly sad if this is the case cause she just wanted to to give her girl a proper gift for her birthday
nah this episode is really sad even if you’re single with no kids. i teared up heavy when she said her kid would have been better off not being her child after she did so much for her to be happy. but for a mom and even parents in general this is absolutely core emotional damage level stuff. and with such little dialogue. amazing episode and incredibly effectively sad and horrifying
Not personally a fan of dubs in general but people giving ya'll hate for it is ridiculous. There are TONS of GREAT english dubs out there but people just wanna be elitist and act like they're better for exclusively watching subbed. You guys always give great reactions, INCLUDING last week. If anything, it's refreshing to see you guys mix it up. Not many people do that!
12:00 This detail is what pains me the most. Not only she lost her daughter and life, but also her own identity. Without memories, her ghost wandered without a purpose for how long who knows. She couldn't even avenge her daughter and herself. I'm glad that Aira helped her soul passing to the afterlife in peace, but i can't helped but feeling frustrated that she never has a chance to get her justice or revenge. We never know if karma comes to those yakuza thugs/debt collectors eventually, but i hope that is the case. Imagining if the mother retained her memories after becoming a ghost. Hmm, i can see herer having a field day with these two kidnappers (haunting and tormenting those thugs mercilessly, of courses). And seriously, that would be a very satisfied scene to behold.
So this is an anime only detail. But in the scene where she’s counting the money, you can see blurred in the background a calendar with a date circled. More than likely it’s in reference to her daughter’s bday. So she had to choose to either pay rent or buy her daughter a gift. And it’s obvious what she chose. So the people that came in were probably her landlord asking for rent and then they took her daughter as compensation. It’s not this detailed in the manga so this was just an extra gut punch to add to the already sad backstory
I was just like your wife bc i have 2 daughters and I was ready to see some boxing but that shit got me in tears i was not prepared for that, what an incredible episode.😢😢😢
Disliking because of dub is actually insane to me. Do yall go and dislike the French, Chinese, and German translation. What is with the disrespect for English voice actors. I would say react to what yall want but we know how UA-cam is and the sub weirdos showed out on the last episode. Either way love you guys and your reaction.
No disrespect (from me at least). It's just that because they did 5 episodes in sub, I was expecting episode 6 to be in sub. Not in dub. No one likes inconsistency. I shouldn't say no-one. I don' and I know many people who don't. And no - people should leave respectful comments telling them that. Dislike is okay, not watching is okay. Exploding in comments is FAR from okay.
@@jannegrey I appreciate that and agree be consistent but at the same time they were so pressured from the first episode to not watch it in dub. I say that because it seemed like they wanted to watch it in English since it aired in English simultaneously. Your sentiments are not the majority. For some reason a lot of anime watchers sh*t on the dub for no reason. For that to be their most disliked video is insane to me. This happens on every social media platform and it gets irritating and disrespectful. My last point, I’ve been watching anime since Naruto and other anime aired on toonami in English but I’ve also watched Naruto from the beginning when it was in sub. I’m an adult now and will still watch sub if I have to but I put in the years watching sub and now finally have a chance to relax and watch my favorite series in my native tongue lol.
@@nicc8435 I didn't know they were "pressured". Though sadly this is basically industry standard. And I think they should watch it as they want to watch it. Preferably both (other part can be in private), because in this case dub compliments sub. But barring that - whatever the heck they want. Sadly YT would probably not give them same audience, because less people would watch it - even if only initially. And that would translate to less follows etc. Sadly YT "rewards" you for large amount of likes and comments (and comments are good for engagement regardless what they contain - though of course reading them is a different thing) I find that a lot of people prefer stuff with language they don't understand. It is "less cringe" to them. I'm Polish and I cannot stand Polish music (with few exceptions). Lyrics are often.... not super smart etc. I preferred English language music and while I became fluent in that language, I can turn off and on "understanding of lyrics" now. As I learned Japanese same thing happened, although I didn't learn it to a degree that allows to listening to music and catching every nuance. But for Anime it is enough. It's a phenomenon I noticed many years ago. There weren't that many studies, because for Anglosphere people mostly consumed media made in Anglosphere and well - Hollywood and to lesser degree British movies are still most popular. But people are quick to nitpick their own language, while not being capable of doing the same to one they don't understand. And this is on top "supremacy" stuff, like many "sub fanboys" are. They are MORE original. Closer to REAL. It's BS of course, but they don't know that. BTW I've been watching Anime since Dragon Ball, DBZ and sailor Moon were originally televised in Poland. I initially couldn't stand Japanese versions. "Girls don't have such unnaturally high voices". TBF also on Japanese side things changed. But for solid 20+ years now, I've been watching subs only. I watch dub if it's good on second watch. So I'm always biased. I don't think I left a comment on my previous one, or if I did it was removed, though it wasn't anything harsh. At worst it would be "I'm a bit disappointed that you decided to switch to a dub, mid-season. I'm gonna skip the episode". I left dislike, though I thought about it for long time. Mostly because I give them likes automatically before I watch a video (I forget later). I seriously didn't know about "pressuring" (IDK how I missed that - it's possible that I went straight to reaction, this was my 7th or 8th Dandadan reaction that day) and now I do feel bad. And sadly as I said, I shouldn't feel surprised - since I saw it many times. IDK how to make it right to them now. I guess if they react to Anime I will be watching reactions for, I will watch them regardless of whether they are sub or dub - as long as they stick with one. And this is hard. Because you don't know the "quality" of the dub on day 1. Maybe if they delayed their reaction to first episode and found out that Dub is really good, or just went with the hunch. As long as they are consistent within a show - I will watch it. And of course if they switch on episode 2, I will as well. Especially if they talk about it earlier. Sadly many people on Internet do not know how to talk without attacking people. And sadly now I've realized that in small way and not consciously, I contributed to the problem. Damn.
@@nicc8435 Errata - so I didn't dislike their video after all. I just checked. I was probably thinking about this and then decided that I just won't watch without clicking the dislike button. And while I like how "Normies" used to watch parts in the dub after watching whole episode in sub, I think I gave them the dislike because they went to dub, then back to sub and now back to dub.
@@jannegrey that makes sense. People can like or dislike whatever they want for whatever reason. I just thought it was crazy that they had to address it in the video. Another weird thing is they are watching it super cut up to avoid copyright why is it so important for them to watch sub. I can barely hear the sub while watching their reaction so them reacting to English just makes sense because I’m sure most of their audience speaks English. We are watching a reaction not the actual episode and I know people will say but the translation is wrong omg idc lol it’s not that serious.

Frieren is their last favorite and the though arcane is 3. 😮
This episode caught me WAY off guard bruh
don't catch me off guard, but i read the manga also in this season will be another heartbreak backhistory, next ep the comedy backs
When you realize the true horror is not the Aliens or the Ghosts, but the inability of a Human to stand up for their loved ones
Naw, not really when the aliens strike they hit harder.
4:45 - yeah. It feels like Palm and the Leech Devil from chainsaw man had a baby.
this also showed that aira could see spirits since she was little because silky was already dead at that point. i believe she just forgot since she didn't realize it was a ghost so her power went dormant until she found the ball
Backstory got me crying on lunch break 😢
I’m crying, you’re crying, we all crying. Mountains will be moved for Aira and Silky by ANY MEANS NECESSARY😭😭😭🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Usually they say when ppl die, they relief from all the suffer and pain in the previous life and their spirit move on to a different realm.
However, if the spirit thinks it has some unfinished business, or cannot let go of something, it probable remain in the world, and depends on what happened might turn into a evil spirit.
Reading the manga this scene hit but seeing it animated was truly heartbreaking
I hope this anime continues, cause the stories keep getting funnier and extremely sadder. This manga was done so well from what I read so far.
the "im not watching/ disliking your reactions if its not in sub" crowd is so toxic on god. yalls reactions are great either way. only better when its in the language you want
It’s so dumb, I saw so many comments saying that they won’t return if it’s dubbed, like clearly they aren’t here for them if that’s the deal breaker.. sub only snobs are the worst..
@@XxD0MINUSxX is it dumb to express an opinion?
@@luisdanielvega99When ur obnoxious about it yes
@@_General_Grievous__ in what other way can i show my discomfort if not by using a tool that was placed to measure this? maybe also commenting but im sure you find this obnoxious even if its once and respectful
@luisdanielvega99 You're being purposely obtuse. Of course if you are being respectful it isn't a problem.
You can't have a ghost story without trauma.
Its hits much deeper in English dub... Anime of the year for sure... every episode been incredible
The comedy😂😂😂😂
The action😲😲😲😲😲
The backstories 😢😢😢😢😢😢
Great episode man didn't think it was going to be a dark episode
Back in the day, people used to get bullied for liking anime. Now it's accepted in Mainstream Culture but anime fans themselves push people away because of their Sub-Only Prefrences.
Im sorry that your last video got so much hate, yall didn't deserve that.
I enjoy both sub and dub. Weird that people hating too much. Seems like cant really let other people enjoy what they want
All the people with single moms crying to this one💯
I think he doesn’t cry because he talks himself through it like a parent to a kid watching something scary😂
Love that edit where both of you guys are on different sides of the screen and the anime is in the middle you should keep doing that plz 🙏
A common theme in this series is "never judge a book by it's cover"
We're over here crying our eyes out for an anime about finding someone's balls 😭😭😭
It's just weebs, the dub in this show is fire
Tanjiro/Kaneki voice >>>
That last shot of the three of them standing there..
I wasn't ready for EP 7.
I sign up for wacky, crazy, funny, balls and memes.
It was very subtle, but she was in debt with the mafia and used part of the money she would use to pay them, to buy the pink dress to her daughter instead. hence why they came after her and her daughter.
i was full on crying my eyes out
Idk why i havent seen many people say this but Momo really is the MVP of this ep and this entire arc honestly.
It was beautiful and yet so tragic😮💨❤️
Thank you, and rest in peace
From what im able to gather it might of been that silky wanted to buy her daughter a nice dress for her birthday and took money out of what she owed the yakuza which we see her take some out of a envelope which is truly sad if this is the case cause she just wanted to to give her girl a proper gift for her birthday
This episode give me goosebumps. They honestly did it better than the manga
This episode is unexpected 10/10 best peak episode no cap
nah this episode is really sad even if you’re single with no kids. i teared up heavy when she said her kid would have been better off not being her child after she did so much for her to be happy.
but for a mom and even parents in general this is absolutely core emotional damage level stuff. and with such little dialogue.
amazing episode and incredibly effectively sad and horrifying
Oh man i cried all over again lmao
Not personally a fan of dubs in general but people giving ya'll hate for it is ridiculous. There are TONS of GREAT english dubs out there but people just wanna be elitist and act like they're better for exclusively watching subbed. You guys always give great reactions, INCLUDING last week. If anything, it's refreshing to see you guys mix it up. Not many people do that!
Science Saru really just reminded us they made Devilman Crybaby
I almost died watching this episode! Tears were just poping out! 😢
so sad.
I cried on this episode man and I'm 31 years old. 😭😭😭😭
sucked that you had alot of people that whined until you swapped from the dub but I'm glad you guys checked it out keep doin what ur doin.
@bugasugar6876 says the dude being an elitest about a choice THEY the video creators decided to make.
My mom walked in on me watching this episode and asked why I was crying. I couldn’t explain it to her 😂
So this is an anime only detail.
I love both dub & sub, which is very rare when I watch anime these days.
She did everything EVERYTHING for her child.. but it all ended up in a tragedy..
litterally read the whole manga again and I'm so happy i did😭😭
This shows gives me heavenly delusion vibes 🔥

As a sub person, the dub for Dandadan is actually pretty good.
This one of the anime that made me cry man 😭😭😭 its been a long time i cried to a anime episode 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Onion Shinobi cutting up onions
Ahhh finally the Sub is back 🔥🔥🔥
It’s the sound of the voices, that’s why a lot of people prefer sub
This show is really on top wow
I was just like your wife bc i have 2 daughters and I was ready to see some boxing but that shit got me in tears i was not prepared for that, what an incredible episode.😢😢😢
this episode made me sob YIKES
Im just gonna say..... its not gonna be the first time you cry in this show :)
Amazing episode ❤
I really liked Mel's review in this episode great reaction🔥🔥
I hope we see the child later in the series, if we don’t, I riot!!!!!
Sadly YT "rewards" you for large amount of likes and comments (and comments are good for engagement regardless what they contain - though of course reading them is a different thing)
I find that a lot of people prefer stuff with language they don't understand.
The people who took the child away from silky was most likely the yakuza (Japanese mafia)due the mother not being able to pay of the debt.
