    Thank you for your video. I have eaten 1 time this cake, one of my Srilankan friend had offered me the cake when I was in Germany.
    1st time I heard that there is something like Wedding Cake. And it takes 5 months to year to get it prepared.
    You have mentioned everything nicely but there are more than 100 questions to need clearify.
    If we want to make at home ourselves.

    Thank you CulinaryCorner. One of the best vlog recipes.
    Question: How do you give the almond paste the glaze? You make this look so easy-peasy. My almond paste ended up in a big blob and I gave up🤣!
    By the way, I have a severe intolerance to gluten so I leave out semolina and and any sources of gluten, including flour; instead I substitute with gluten free flour and almond meal(or polenta). You would not know the difference!! The cake turns out moist and in one whole.

      I think polenta here will do a good job for semolina.

    just baked this cake for Christmas and it came out very nicely. after the cake cooled down, i crushed the cake already. could you please advise the best way to store it now ?
    just put it in an airtight container?
    i would do some pieces for this Christmas and hope that i could save the rest till next Christmas.

      I normally put in a plastic container with a tight lid. Always wet with brandy for good results.

      Hi Piyumalee. Add glucose syrup instead of egg whites to the mix. My cake is more than a year old and still ok.

      Nothing much. Its golden in colour. The syrups make it dark brown.

      Hi Chaminda, Ah you are one of my neighbours. :) I still have the cakes I made. You don't need to add cherries but you can. Its always our choice. You can do the icing in advance. Several days before or even months before, Any questions please feel free to ask.

      I buy most of my stuff online. Order early as it takes a bit of time. No problem. You can get ready made marzipan online or in shops. That's the easiest.

    Hi, i forgot to add icing sugar to the butter and baked it already. Is it going to affect the taste or quality of the cake? Could you please tell me if i can do anything about it???

      Dont worry dear. Still will be sweet enough. If you think it is not wait until the last step of breaking the cake and then add beed honey to it. If you are adding the icing on top you don't need to worry. it will ok. Good Luck.

      @@shonashaangmailcom This is a very small quantity. You can do it by 10 to 15 times. It depends on the thickness you like. I can guarantee the cake will stay with icing for 2 years with out a problem.

      @@TheCulinarycorner this was so helpful and thank you. baked the cake and kept for 10 days before cutting. yesterday we cut and packed it. it tasted fantastic. out of this world. thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I made few changes to your recipe so its more suitable for us. instead of brandy I used brandy essence which is nonalcoholic and when baking I added only sugar and avoided adding icing sugar so it taste less sweet. thanks again for this recipe.

      Semolina gives the loose texture to the cake than adding flour to it.

    Hi,usually after baking I would like to break the cake into pieces and set it again meanwhile can I add jam into the mixture and make the layout? Because I don't want to use brandy

      If you are in a rush you can do the next day. Its best to keep long to get all the flavours. No harm to do the next day.
