Imaginary Friend being labeled a flop when it was 1000% for the fans and has fans and even other idols getting emotional and crying when Itzy performs it is just like…really? Yeah it’s not freaking Wannabe but it’s so meaningful to fans and that should be totally okay. To me just showing my favs that they’ve got a steady fan is more important than shattering records. My ult barely has any music show wins and yet they’re going strong past a renewal because they put in the work to build a consistent fan base.
Kpop stans always misuse these words not even just flop. They misuse "ace, all rounder, lazy dancing, overperforming, mistreatment" it's laughable bc these words once had meaning.
Longevity is very important, development of an artist takes low points, meh points and very high points. "Flop" is a way undermine and minimize a group/artist's achievements cause they don't like the group. And if you genuinely like music or you are a supporter, you'll just be happy with the songs you like, you'll stream your group and not act like you're apart of their marketing team, sales team or anything similar. Not everyone starts off at the top and that's the beauty of it. It's like how "Pick-me" is used in the K-pop space and outside of it. Oh, this female idol does something completely normal but I don't like her? PICK-ME! Oh this female idol does something I think is cringy? PICK-ME! Oh she made eye contact with my biased for half a second? PICK-ME! When pick-me literally is a Girl/woman who belittles, insults or shuns another woman/girl for the sole purpose of male validation and approval, hence "Pick-Me" as in I want this guy to pick me so I'll belittle you to make me look/feel better in front of him. So no, Wonyoung, Yuna, and some other female idols aren't pick-mes just because you don't like them.
I can't believe we got to the point actually good songs in this industry get called flop if they dont chart or have lots of listeners but then the same people who call those songs 'flops' listen to bad songs obviously done as cashgrabs copying what's trending atm. Not even just in kpop, but in the music industry in general
As i always say the people who say " ____ flopped and ___ comeback is flop" they just need to look at their report card and see who geniunly flopped and still is flopping
and dont get me started when u have an actual criticism about something and then they go about saying im "jealous" cause my fav is a "flop"....be fr rn.
It was funny as hell seeing people call Skz's Hop album a flop, only for it to be the second best selling kpop album of the guy year (Ate was #1) and becoming their 6th consecutive #1 on bb200. If Stray Kids are flops, then truly no one is safe 😂
I really enjoyed your video. You said everything i always scream in my mind anytime i go to Twitter and see posts from kpop stan. Kids still in school calling artists who can feed you for a year comfortably a flop is mind boggling.
I literally made this comment "not every music is meant to be an instant hit or even a hit at all" under the MV of a group i follow cause everyone was just so obsessed with the number of views the music was getting or not getting. In kpop, people don't even enjoy the music, they just stream and stream for numbers It's so weird. Every time you open a kpop MV you can't get past 3 comments without seeing someone keeping tabs of the numbers of views even after months of the music release. Like do y'all not get tired? Don't you have something else to do?? And i doubt they even realize its weird behavior.
++ the idea that every release an artist is going to have is going to be bigger and better than the previous one is unrealistic, especially in the kpop industry where groups are having 2-4 releases a year. Sometimes they won’t chart as well, some times they’ll get lesser views and sometimes you might not even enjoy the music- it is not the end of the world lol
please rant about this i beg you it’s so annoying you know those kpop channels that say “oldest vs youngest group member!” or anything yk, i hate it so much it itches me and it annoys me, everytime i have a mental breakdown because of those content farm channels, the worst part is they get like a million views the hell, PLEASE 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Unpopular opinion with love but I feel like aespa’s concept will soon die out and people will get sick of it. I love their music it’s so futuristic and artistic. But I just feel like if they don’t switch it up it’ll feel repetitive because sm would think it’s the tactic that works.
Girl u r soo right. People r calling rosie flop.. Like can u imagine.. Calling the biggest kpop artist rn a flop. Like wow... 😂 People expecting Taylor Swift level of achievement with her first album is soo funny to me. 😂😂
@1Uni7 then address it correctly lmaoo. Also, people troll her cause her fans shittalked about other artists while bragging about numbers from the bruno feature and when her own numbers didn't do as good people pointed out .
Being a multi-stan, and ARMY first, I've been there done that, streaming every new song and album, but while the boys have been in the military, I've realised that the numbers are not the be all and end all, and I'm kind of over the whole thing. I also support, STRAY KIDS, ENHYPEN, ATEEZ and TXT, and they've all produced some amazing songs and MVs this year, but if you asked me which ones I wanted to awards, I'd be caught between a rock and a hard place having to choose. It's great when they break records, and top charts, etc., but is it that important anymore? Yes, it's wonderful to be recognised for your work, and a wall of trophies do look pretty, but to me, it's more important that my favourite idols enjoy what they do, and get to see the love and support we have for them. I remember someone once asked EXO's Suho, what he thought of BTS' success on the global stage, and he said he was proud of them, and that there's plenty of room for everyone . Not everyone has to compete on the same stage. I really appreciated his answer. Not everyone has to dominate every chart, or every stage, or every award show... it's amazing when they do, but just because you didn't win an Oscar, doesn't mean you're a bad actor, or your film was rubbish. There have been times when I've been surprised that a group, or song missed out on accolade, when I thought they really deserved it, but I've come to realise that those wins are just not that important anymore. I hear, for example, that UA-cam is looking at getting rid of likes or views in tge future. What's going to happen then? Having streamed for BTS, I have often been puzzled as to why other groups' MVs have relatively low views in comparison, or why, when fans have been voting for their group, and have been way out in front for days, some other group wins the award instead. And why, when we were streaming for BTS, did UA-cam suddenly delete millions of views, coming up with some lame excuse as justification, yet I've never personally seen it happen to any of my other faves. Fans and idols can't control these things. I don't believe they're always accurate, or genuine. I just think that they're not as important as supporting them, and showing them how much I love and appreciate them. What BTS and ARMY has achieved over the years has being amazing, but does every group need to try to do the same in order to be classed as successful? No. BTS is unique, and can not be considered the industry standard that everyone else should aspire to be like. No one else needs to be compared to BTS. It's more than enough to aspire to be best you can be, and as fans, that's all we need... and as long as they're happy, and continue to enjoy being together and doing what they do, then I'm happy.
Some songs are flops lmaooo especially when their fans hype it up as the greatest thing ever & it lands at a measly 80 to 90 on international charts & big 120 on the Korean Circle charts . I’m a logical person & if a song is not performing well on the charts it’s a flop, views are not a good deciding factor because they’re pumped with a bunch of ads 😂😂 but agree with the rest.
All K-pop groups are flops. They wouldn’t fill an arena not even a stadium if their life. Depends on it And yeah, every BTS come back its a hit don’t project your faves flopping on them. I don’t get it why BTS has to be in every stupid kpop video and they have to be mentioned in a negative way to make other Kpop groups look better, bfr😌 don’t you feel embarrassed the video literally have flopping in the title why girl mentioning them i’m secondhand embarrassed for you 🤭 If you are talking about bp collective solo flopping, this is not empty words it’s just the reality they did flopped I really thought this video gonna be honest and talk about the royal flopping that everybody is having lately, but obviously it’s justify video for those who dropped the ball constantly K-pop lip-synch being mediocre irrelevant how you anticipate any success with no growth and by the way, don’t analyse something you don’t want to be honest about 😌
I swear kpop stans are so charts obsessed they care more about about numbers and achievements than their favs and musics. (Just like kpop companies)

When they called Jimin's album a flop...and ppl seem to not understand that 1million views in 24hr is not flopping....

As well as so many broken records, it’s hard to list them all! Losers!!! The man’s a legend!
