i saw Thrice years ago, Back when Dustin played a black SG and Teppei played a reverse headstock Ibanez they had just released Identity crisis on an Indy label at the glasshouse in Pamona Cali
Thrice have grown so much over the years. One of those rare bands that seem to get meatier and more interesting with each album. I'd stick Brand New in that category too.
So awesome. I was so excited to see a Thrice rig run down ever since alchemy index they have had such a unique tone and sound I have loved it. Thanks for the great content guys !!
This is up there with the Brand New rig rundown as one of my favorites. Please try to get an updated rig rundown with Brand New! Also, were you able to get a rig rundown with La Dispute?
Casey Crescenzo... that's the lead singer of The Dear Hunter. He was also in The Receiving End of Sirens. Never knew the two guys spoke with one another but when you been around in the genre long enough I suppose you bump shoulders with one another. Cool subtle name drop Dustin did there.
Awesome! I've been fantasizing of a Thrice rig rundown for a long time. Any chance we'll see a Circa Survive one at some point?? Thanks guys and keep up the great work!
So Teppei uses all his wet effects (delay, chorus, trem etc..) in one loop. Anyone know how he chooses which one to open with the Transit 5 ? I'm sure he doesn't open all of them all at once.
Thrice is touring again this fall!!! Please to do another rig run down!! They're not exactly using the same gear! It would also be awesome to the the bass rig!!
Yeah, they didn't mention it by by the right name, but mentioned the TYPE of compressor it is. I actually didn't think twice about it until I saw this comment...
Does anyone else feel like Perry always talks too much and doesn't let the artist answer for themselves? Like, I wanna hear their thoughts on their gear, not yours man.
Fake worn guitars make me want to craw back into my hole. It's a bit like when everyone was buying jeans with pre-made rips in them years ago. It's like wearing huge fake gold chains. It's like going to buy a new car and asking the sales person to go ram it into a few trees to give it some style. Like buying a house then ripping half the siding off cause it looks cool. It's ridiculous.
This dude gives the WORST interviews. He doesn't know much about gear, after they give correct specs he'll ask a question with incorrect specs, he asks questions they already answered... it's just so rough. He gets sent to do all the bands with rad gear and it always takes me out of it.
What is it with PG doing RRs on bands that no one has heard of, for like the past year? What's next? Going to do rundowns on bands in their mom's basement who just put up their killer new EP on Bandcamp that they recorded with their free trial of FL Studio?
We're limited to cover bands that tour through Nashville (unless it's AC/DC and the trip to Atlanta was clearly worth it). Please send any suggestions to info@premierguitar.com - and just for the record, Thrice has put out 9 albums since 2000 and just wrapped a sold-out reunion tour in the U.S. We know that everyone won't know, appreciate, or even enjoy every band we cover, but our goal is to possibly introduce our fans/readers to new music/bands that they might not hear of otherwise. Thanks for checking out our Rig Rundowns! Best, -PG Staff
Someone forgot to take their meds today.....I just love these 'I haven't heard of X, therefore no one has heard of them' morons. Bit childish and ignorant, don't you think?
please also include the bassist! the low end isn't always as fancy as the guitarist pedalboard, but just a quick shot of the equipment would be nice enough! tnx guys, love this series
rodriguez256 Hi, yes you are right. To me.....and many others, is this band unknown. Not saying, that they are bad at all. I just like to see the real world tour bands like Dream Thearter, John Mayer, Joe Bonamassa, Santana etc. Regards Lasse
just because you dont know them doesnt mean theyre unknown. Theyve been around for 20 yrs. you dont get to be a touring band for that long without a strong dedicated fanbase
Thrice is an absolutely amazing band.
i saw Thrice years ago, Back when Dustin played a black SG and Teppei played a reverse headstock Ibanez they had just released Identity crisis on an Indy label at the glasshouse in Pamona Cali
There's a special place in hell for jerks that steal gear from bands.
except when they're greedy rich assholes like metallice :P
but I get what you mean
@@dildojizzbaggins6969 Thrice are far from rich greedy assholes
Thrice have grown so much over the years. One of those rare bands that seem to get meatier and more interesting with each album. I'd stick Brand New in that category too.
Science fiction is a masterpiece
@@mrbeekers6747 RIP Brand New.. they are right up there with Thrice for me. Timeless.
Damn. Finally! A rig rundown for Dustin and Teppei. I've been waiting for this for such a long time. Thank you!
So glad there's finally a rig rundown for Thrice!!!
So awesome. I was so excited to see a Thrice rig run down ever since alchemy index they have had such a unique tone and sound I have loved it. Thanks for the great content guys !!
Dustin had just told him they were the same pick ups as the Nash and the guy was like "Are you running lollars in this bad boy as well?" 😂
Give the guy a break. I think he gets really nervous.
@@mark7166 And/or excited...
So when i first saw the Bigsby i immediately go and look for something similar online, litle did i expect Dustin himself selling IT on Reverb.
Saw Thrice 2 times this year! Please do a muse rig rundown!
Wow I remember when he just used to run an SG into a Mesa or 5150.
Everyone had a breakdowns and sliding octave stage 😂
These guys are meticulous about their sound and I think you can tell. They come up with my absolute favorite guitar tones of any band I listen to
I’m actually stunned that Teppei’s gear is less insane than Dustin’s. Teppei’s is actually pretty low key.
been a fan of them since 2011, greetings from indonesia,
What about Eddie Breckenridge? :(
FINALLY!!!! Thank you so much for this rundown
OMFG FINALLY !!!!!!!!!! Thx so much PG
Dustin is more of a giant than I thought.
Y'all should do a rig rundown of explosion in the sky
“So this is a custom delay, and it runs into that boutique delay, before it runs into the strymon delay which runs directly into the DD-5.”
This is up there with the Brand New rig rundown as one of my favorites. Please try to get an updated rig rundown with Brand New! Also, were you able to get a rig rundown with La Dispute?
Very cool. Their live sound on the album tour was really damn good.
Damn that Les Paul goes waaaay back. I remember it from the "If We Could Only See Us Now" bonus dvd.
I wait for this for 12 years
Been waiting for this for long! Awesome band!
I feel so validated of my pairing of my vox and supro now :)
Awesome! I've been fantasizing of a Thrice rig rundown for a long time.
Any chance we'll see a Circa Survive one at some point??
Thanks guys and keep up the great work!
such an underrated band
Yes!!! Been wanting this for years!
Rig rundown Caspian's Phil, Erin, Johnny, and Jani!
Super thankful for this RR! I can die happy now ;0)
Just perfect. I waited long time for this rig rundown. Thanks!!!!!!!!
one of my most favorite band! very cool rig rundown!
These dudes jam!
Awesome! One of my favorite bands! It'd be great if you could do an updated Alter Bridge rig rundown too since they'll be touring again soon.
We shot one with Myles and Mark last month - the video should be online 11/23. Keep your eyes peeled!
Been waiting to see these guys rigs.
YESSSSS I've been waiting for this
The reason/inspiration I bought a Line6 Flextone amp like 3 years ago.
dreams do come true! do portugal the man!
I've been wondering why I never see Teppei play that Les Paul Custom anymore.…. that sucks dude.
he's the reason I even know that kind of custom exists
So Teppei uses all his wet effects (delay, chorus, trem etc..) in one loop. Anyone know how he chooses which one to open with the Transit 5 ? I'm sure he doesn't open all of them all at once.
love all the @walrusaudio on those pedal boards!
Thrice is touring again this fall!!! Please to do another rig run down!! They're not exactly using the same gear! It would also be awesome to the the bass rig!!
They're co headlining with Circa Survive so you can probably do a rig run down with them as well!! Please do so :) Chon is opening for them
Thrice are so good! Nice gear too.
Rig rundown for Carcass please!
Anybody has a link to the knob guards Dustin has on every pedals? I often knock my settings when switching sounds if I have to sing while doing so.
stompshield.com/
Steven Pomplun not all heroes wear capes. thanks!
Wow great interview
Ya'll should do a rig rundown of the Flaming Lips on their 2017 tour
Please do a rig rundown for The Used
Why do you guys never do the bass?? or like 1 out of every 5 rig rundowns has bass rigs.
same Thrice that wrote Artist in the Ambulance?
Same Thrice. Amazing uh?
Loved that nanana riff 😂
Would love to see a Kings of Leon rig rundown, all UA-cam has are outdated, poor quality ones that leave a lot to be desired.
Did he say Casey Crescenzo made that Solaris Baritone? As in Casey from The Dear Hunter?
Yes, Casey Crescenzo of The Dear Hunter also uses Cave and Canary as a guitar company. Everyone in The Dear Hunter playing guitar, use his guitars.
Am I wrong? Or is the JHS compressor called the Pulp n Peel? Regardless, this was an awesome rig rundown
It's based on an old compressor called the Orange Sqeezer.
what's that first song they play live at the beginning of the video? I can't remember, but sounds familiar af! ;o
It's "Red Sky" off of 'Vheissu.'
Thank you so much!
The song is Red Sky from the album Vheissu :)
Red sky
teppie using pedaltrain 2?
whats the name of the intro´s song?
Rig Rundown: Sum 41! they start touring in europe next january.
Finally!
Illusion of Safety/Artist in the Ambulance > *
Sold all the guitar and most of the pedals :/
Okay, pressed "PLAY". How many "Gotchas" will be in this "Gotcha-guy" video? :D
isn't that a JHS Pulp and Peel?
Adam Miller yes
Yeah, they didn't mention it by by the right name, but mentioned the TYPE of compressor it is. I actually didn't think twice about it until I saw this comment...
And now he just uses a line 6 helix and a firehawk 1500 as a monitor.. and I think one Strymon pedal
We're do you get your information from? Another rig rundown?
trén postrock Just saw your comment, sorry. You can get a lot of his gear info from his Twitter.
I wish there was another Rig Rundown!
okay, not using twitter these days. maybe i should. :)
trén postrock If you are to do so, proceed with caution for the land of twitter is demoralizing wasteland.
Goddamn now I want Casey Crescenzo to build my guitar.
tonellojohn I thought it’d cost around $2-3,000 for one of his guitars. I was right. lol
How...How...How does every god damned band that comes on here have a "When My shit got stolen story" ??
What was that song in the beginning?
Red Sky.
The song is Red Sky from the album Vheissu :)
more bass please
oh shit - yess
Does anyone else feel like Perry always talks too much and doesn't let the artist answer for themselves? Like, I wanna hear their thoughts on their gear, not yours man.

Thrice is great. Interviewer is so awkward. Kind of spazzy.
epic
Kings of Leon next.
so urself a favor n put eq only in the loop

Is this rock music for hipster christians?
Sanzen seems to be

Okay Thrice fanboy.

We need some real rig roundowns. Not just this unknown bands.

Stephen Sporman Hi. If you enjoy this rig rounddown, then good for you. I don't. But I have been satisfied many times since ;-) Greetings Lasse
There are rig rundowns of those bands too... You could have just searched for them instead of coming here commenting like a smartass
