I don’t like seafood-but I do like calamari. I was given some fresh calamari from my nephew and thought I would try cooking it for the first time ever (I am in my 50’s). Cracking recipe - it was absolutely delicious. Thanks Nev.

    Hey mate
Is the tenderiser you use flat or does it have the spikes?
    Thanks again 👍

What a great way to show how you prepare what you've caught! Amazing recipe too! Squid is my fave seafood. Especially chili squid 😋

do u rekon freezing the squid effects the toughness and or flavour?

Freezing doesn't effect the flavour, it does make it a bit easier to tenderize though

Thanks Nev, off to buy a meat tenderiser. I tried every marinade to tenderise it, kiwi, milk etc but haven't tried that. With 30cm and 1cm thick hoods this will soften them nicely. 🍻

I've used Kiwi fruit to tenderise squid.
I was sceptical .....but it does work and in quick time.

It does work but I'd still rather hand tenderize it, thats given me the best results
