Hey! This was an amazing video... I am not sure how long it will take me to install the speakers in the car but with your instructions I could get the speakers prepped within three hours, most of the time was spent with those nasty screws. Really appreciate all the time that went into this, just wanted to say you definitely had more than 12 people listen to your outro😊
This video definitely helped. I'm going on the extreme side. Probably going to sound deaden to about the same level as you, but doing the trunk as well. Then going with a nice 3 way active speaker set up the front with modified tweeter covers. Helix DSP and amp under the passenger seat, then a Morel subwoofer and another helix amp in the trunk. There arnt many videos of builds in the newer corollas yet. One thing I will say the next biggest improvement you can make for ypur setup is a head unit. The toyota head units are not very good in terms of signal output quality
Hey man, thanks for the video. I recently learned something in my pursuit of better audio for my Corolla: we may be barking up the wrong tree going after the speakers. I talked to a professional car audio guy, and he said he just did a job on one of these, and the root cause of the poor sound quality was actually ***the head unit***. Distorted sound is coming from the source! It makes sense, cause if you listen to the rollas that come with the fancy JBL speakers, they sound like trash too. So, I have a hunch that Toyota put in some kind of ""audio enhancement"" software that's not working as intended and is screwing up the output. Either have to find a way to talk to some Toyota engineers about it and get them to issue a software update, get someone at the dealership to find a cheat code to fix it or some setting in their fancy scan tool, or just up and replace the whole head unit. Frankly, unbelievable.
Thanks m8 for the nice video! I wasn’t doing any speaker update but got great tips how to remove dash tweeter grill :) there was a minor rattle there in my car which I managed to tackle quite nicely
I have infinity 3.5 tweeter installed in front dash. It sound even better with mids and low that a tiny tweeter. Just need a little hole each and it is perfect fit and need to make holes on dash cover which was ease i do it with scissor no damage on cover.
Did you need to do any bass blocking/splicing/amplifying, or were they plug and play with the stock audio? Also, how tight of a fit were the 3.5s in the dash hole, accounting for the AC vent underneath? Thinking about replacing the stock tweeters w/ Kicker 46CSC354 in a 2023 corolla hybrid, but Crutchfield says they will not fit.
@@Coolbeanz9001 need to make 1 hole. The space is exactly made for 3.5 but they put tiny one for corolla. Nothing to worry about ac vent. Buy plag n play harness and use 2 screws each side and u might need to buy speaker dash cover of jbl corolla, if not just make small holes using tiny sharp scissors thats how i made because 3.5 is bigger and sound waves must go out.

im about to do this and this will help bruh! I got a 2020 corolla hybrid and i ordered the toyota amp plug and play harness to add a 10in kicker but then decided to get 4 kicker DS 6.5in speakers to finish the whole stereo at one time! Might as well. Speaker cost was $130 for 4 from crtch with hardware, sub and install kit i already had from old car, and $50 for the amp adaptor to not cut factory wires. So total installed was $180 for me
Assuming hatchback then yes. If you have the sedan, front should be the same but not sure if the rear speakers are in the door or behind the back seat headrests

@@RedWingedBlackbird U shouldve gotten a 150-200 dollar component set instead of the coaxials with the seperate tweeters that wouldve saved u 300 bucks, that wouldve been enough for a amp/wiring and sound deadening if u dindt go for a expensive brand.. also foam is not the best.. its good in some areas. id say u spend about 2 times too much couldve gotten a better result cheaper..
Great video, appreciate all the effor that went into it. I'm assuming this was with your stock head unit, how do you find the pairing with it? Was this something you researched/considered before going for speakers first? I'm hoping to do a similiar install (already did a full sound deadaning for the car) on a yaris, but many suggest upgrading the head unit first as its underpowered for any aftermarket speakers.
I did see posts stating that the head unit was the limiting factor and that you should upgrade it in unison with the speakers, amps, subs etc.. But I didn't end up going that far as a new headunit itself is quite pricey. Stock headunit is fine for now. If I did get an amp + sub then yes I would also replace the headunit too.

I just installed the same two Infinity Reference RE-375TX 3/4in tweeters as you as I am still waiting for materials to install my four Infinity Reference 6532EXs. Even by just upgrading the tweeters, I can notice distortion at certain frequencies (at 35-45 volume). I am quite certain I did a quality job installing them, and I double checked my connections. I worry the car is going to reject the four 6.5in door-speakers and it's going to be waste of time, money, and effort :( It seems as though all these speakers should be easy enough to drive with base car stereos, but now I'm not sure :/ Is the head unit really THAT bad in this car that even just a tweeter upgrade can introduce distortion? And do you think I'll run into more issues when I install all 4 door speakers? Any thoughts you have on this would be massively appreciated. Your guide has been so helpful thus far. Thank you so much for creating it and continuing to engage in the comments!
I wouldn't say one is better than another, I did all the mods because I felt they supported each other and therefore were overall worthwhile. Good tweeters need good speakers, good speakers need good sound deadening, and it just becomes a slippery slope from there. If you're looking to just dip your toes, the tweeters are the cheapest to buy and easiest to install.
As far as I am aware, every aftermarket car audio speaker uses an adapter of some sort. I think this is because it is cheaper to manufacturer one speaker and use adapters for a specific car, than it is to design hyper specific speakers for every car/brand in existence.

Yes the new speakers do sound better, but it is only a slight difference.

You can try the kicker key 200.4 dsp... totally worth it and fully take advantage of your new speaker.

I wouldn't say one is better than another, I did all the mods because I felt they supported each other and therefore were overall worthwhile.
Good tweeters need good speakers, good speakers need good sound deadening, and it just becomes a slippery slope from there. If you're looking to just dip your toes, the tweeters are the cheapest to buy and easiest to install.
