Object Class: Keter (Presumed Neutralized)
Special Containment Procedures: Outpost 54 has been built on the land surrounding SCP-1983 and disguised as a chemical plant. The "plant" building serves as barracks for MTF Chi-13 ("Choir Boys"). All entry points into Outpost 54 are to be guarded at all times. Personnel will review Document 1983-12, which details the cover story to be given to any civilians expressing curiosity.

For me, it is the D-Class getting the Foundation Star that makes this SCP special. A D-Class, being treated like a genuine hero. It's novel, that's for sure.
Always wondered since we do hear about d class that Are well behaved and work well with the foundation how many if ever have ever been straight recruited from D class after their 1 month. They ether get terminated or let go In the latter case I can see the foundation using a willing d class that has useful skills it probably wouldn't happen a lot but I think it would make a good story
It's not confirmed that it was the D-class tho.
@@jamesfreeman3617 I'm sure it has happened in some capacity in some SCP, but keep in mind: D-Class are condemned convicts. It would take some exceptional circumstances for the Foundation to recruit and set aside their prior convictions, as they tend to be big crimes. Things like murder, rape, etc.
@@daniell1483 incorrect not just convicted prisoners are d class while most commonly are depicted as such they can and do use innocent people or those from lesser crimes if needed also foundation personnel can also be demoted to d class as well.
@@jamesfreeman3617 I don't think there is any canon showing "innocent" D-Class. I always think of SCP 93, the "Red Sea Object" when I think about D-Class. In all cases, the D-Class used was guilty of something. Indeed, the SCP wouldn't work properly if they were "innocent" as it reacts with their guilty past in order to work. The D-Class there have their crimes described; the second expedition for example had a woman who was involved in the death of some children, so when she saw some children's bikes, she freaked out. You could make the argument that these were atypical D-Class personnel, but then I'd have to ask, who do you consider 'typical' D-Class? And yes, when Foundation personnel does something particularly heinous they can be demoted to D-Class, but that just furthers the example that D-Class individuals have, in fact, done something heinous.
Nothing is scarier to hear in an SCP entry than "Keter" and "presumed neutralized"

There's nothing I love more from the SCP universe than impromptu reports from disgruntled agents. There's so much emotion involved from an organization that's usually hyper clinical

I think it's being redacted because of the swear word. Because a secret organization dedicated to finding and containing eldritch anomalies is okay with describing said eldritch nightmares turning a living human into..., say, a pretzel, and then leaving said human to remain alive in agony. With perfect anatomic detail. But somebody saying "bumfuck nowhere" is no good my duders.

Y’know, I read somewhere that this SCP was based on the End of the World and the Heartless from Kingdom Hearts.
Sounds plausible.
By the end of this, it did really sound like Heartless. It made me smile.

I would assume that after many years of service desensitization would set in and this kind of attitude wouldn't be unthinkable. "Oh joy, this crap again - only one more and I can turn my punch card in for a free sandwich."

There are a lot of scps that are basically "spawn killers". You just walk through a door and you're basically already dead, or in some instances, actually already dead.

wow, i've read and heard this scp read enough times to know it by heart(hmm...) and the tone you went with for the log is a really interesting twist. instead of traumatized despondency this guy sounds like lucifer describing his fall with gleeful irony

That was a really good one. Classic SCP feel.
I forget the D-Class’s real name but he actually was discharged for something in t he past from the Foundation and was given a normal life after being given amnestics. But then after a decade or so they can back to him and gave him the drugs that let him remember and asked if he would do one more mission for the Foundation.
The guy is a legend and proves that even D-Class are not just thrown away without regard for human life and that they are heroes themselves for putting up with the crap the foundation puts them through.
Amazing, this one has to be one of my favorites!
This was a good reading, I really like the imagery used to depict the SCP-1983 phenomena. And of course Volgun's lovely voice, narrating it all. I look forward to hearing more SCP articles. I'd definitely love to hear more like the Reality Benders one, every now and then
