It's so immensely satisfying to have the pieces of lore fall into place inside my head in ways I would have never considered on my own.

I remembered it a couple months ago and I searched for it but in vain, until now, when I thought your username was familiar! A personal search of mine finally comes to a close, thank god you're also a fan of TheVolgun! This is great :)
Please continue extra credit. You are, in my opinion, one of the highest quality SCP content creators. Sure, it's just documents being read to us, but you take the steps to immerse your viewers via production quality by bringing in auditory elements that help facilitate phenomenal storytelling in a format with little to no visuals to go on. Extra credit is a bonus section that, for me, helps to understand anything I didn't quite pick up on while listening prior and enhances the experience I had listening to the log by letting me properly process more obscure information so I can further appreciate both the original work, and your outstanding presentation of said work.
Yes. More extra credit please. It's helpful to someone like me who isn't fully up on the lore and interconnectedness of a lot of these SCPs, organisations and technologies thank you for the fantastic work you do!
"an anchor is safe on the shore, but it's the last thing you want to hold when you're drowning" fifthist stuff is always written in such a fun way, and you really captured the strange unraveling that happens to fifthist skips. phenomenal voice acting and edititng!!!!!! extra credit!
they should invent something like a "reality sail" to drag a reality anchor aweigh from our reality when it malfunctions. it'd be an interesting dichotomy to see play out in an SCP story
@@kenpanderz672 that sounds like a fun prompt for an scp tale. in some way, SCP 3812 "a voice behind me" is a kind of 'reality sail' flying out of control above all other realities.
What are we supposed to do then? The Reality Anchors are what's keeping so many SCP's either locked up or at bay or just reality in general from collapsing and/or reshaping.
I'm a father of two small children and I'm perpetually tired. My ability to decipher many SCP's beyond surface level is limited at best. I love the extra credit portion and think it would be an extremely beneficial addition to your videos.

Don't do extra credit if you feel that the SCP makes sense without it. But man oh man! Having the option of putting extra credit is going to free you up with which SCPs you might do and interesting ways you might present them. This was art. This was so good.
I really do like the extra credit addition. I didn't get the fifthism connections until it was explained, and I love highlighting the added meaning behind it. Your audio work is stellar.
Extra Credit is such a cool idea! It's something other SCP story channels don't do, and it's an incredibly novel (yet blaringly obvious) way to involve community in their own content creation representation 🤠
The extra credit bit was awesome. Was just about to look for an explanation somewhere else and hey presto you provided it! Don't think every SCP will need one, but it was definitely appreciated here.
Gods, the voice acting are always so impeccable. There are certainly a lot of confusing SCPs, so I would really like a well-written explanation interspersed with roleplay voices like this one. Perfect introduction to the extra credits!
Thank you for the extra credits part, it really does help with understanding the whole concept, clears out a lot of confusions and answers some of the questions that you might have. Personally speaking, I would really love to see it more often. This was a very enjoyable video as always.
I actually REALLY like the extra credit section. Some SCPs are easier to grasp than others and this not only fills in the blanks if there's any left and also scratches that itch that some SCP articles leave in my mind. Very much hope to see more of them in the future.
I do like the extra credit. Gives more of explanation onto the mess and confusing SCP’s that people on 1st listen might not understand. Great video as always. Can’t wait for the next one.
The extra credit was much needed for this SCP. A lot of SCPs have lore that’s hidden deep in the document, such as the “Abortion in the Sink” SCP. Please keep doing these for complex SCPs in the future
This extra credit segment was great. When the lecture first ended, I was wondering way there was so much time still left on the video. Please do more of these segments.
Uncontained? Already know its gonna be good Thank you Volgun! Phenomenal Job as always Edit: Wow the extra credit section is a welcome suprised! Love to see more of it
The extra credit was a fantastic addition! Usually leaving it up for audience interpretation is fun but I always love deep-dives into various concepts surrounding the SCP multiverse. This new format you're doing with the readings of the scp entry itself with the extra credit analysis at the end is a fresh new way to enjoy your videos!
X-tra Credits is absolutely something I want more of. Do go ahead and make batch episodes for previously recorded SCPs to have those explained as well.
This genuinely makes me curious as to how Clef would respond to this thanks to your Extra Credit section. Thanks for explaining this btw! It’s definitely easy to get lost and confused from the initial log, so I’m glad you expanded on it. But on a different note, it does make me wonder how Clef would respond… I mean I’ve heard about how he responded with SCP-239, being “unaffected” by it due to his nature, but with something like this, which “breaks” the anchor… it makes me curious
Man I love fifthism. I love listening to the Absolute Absolute Absolute Absolute Absolute best of the Fifth Dimension in its entirety, it’s really cool. Jokes aside fifthism is a pretty neat concept
Any chance at a 1 hour+ video covering larger topics/organization in more detail? Like the Serpent's Hand, or Wanderer's Library, or the Sarkic/Mekanite Conflicts. You could set them as being the briefing documents for agents assigned to monitoring or infiltrating such organization or for new researchers assigned to studying those topics.
The Exploring Series has a pretty good series of long vids on the class of 76, Syncope Symphony, and that particular GOI. Also one on This Thing A Quiet Madness Made
Love love love the Extra Credits segment, I've been reading SCP articles and listening to videos like yours and the Exploring Series for a year or so now, and it's still a lot to take in sometimes.
This Extra Credit segment was a great idea, please continue doing these because honestly some of the more esoteric SCPs really make my head spin, and these explanations help it to stop spinning.
I really like the extra credit section!! Seems like it would be a treat to hear Dr. Miller give a little “twilight zone recap” sort of deal. Like, be able to share with Dr. Miller a feeling of “wow that’s pretty messed up, huh?”
Really liking the extra credit. I somehow ended up feeling even more immersed in the story despite the breaking of the fourth wall, kind of like a researcher being read the text and then given a rundown of how to work with what was read. If that makes sense. I'm really looking forward to more of this.
I’ve been listening to your content for a few years now and this entry was phenomenally voice acted and sound edited. The extra credit segments is a great addition
I love the extra credit segment! Half of the fun of scps for me is reading people's theories about the more complicated/abstract ones, but a lot of videos that explore that, don't have the full scp Having both in one place is just the best of both worlds
Everything you do is amazing; watching your video and voice acting skills get better and better over the years has been amazing to be a witness to. I definitely appreciated the Extra Credit section of the video because while I love listening to and occasionally reading SCPs; I'm not that deep into the lore and occasionally forget how different things in the SCP universe relate to/ interact with one another. So everything that you've done to help me keep up is greatly respected. Thank you so very much, Volgon, for bringing this entertaining world to life.
I really love the "extra credit". I admit I don't have the time to follow every lead and link like I used to, and I count on you and Explorer to shed new light on SCPs I've seen, and most certainly ones that are wholly new to me. Keep up the good work, Doctor Miller, as it is all for the greater good. ^w^
I like extra credit as an addition to the video itself, they could also do well as their own stand-alone videos if you wish to preserve the in-universe format of your videos. Awesome stuff as always man
This was so damn good! You nailed the voice acting on the logs so well. The extra credit was good, especially since I've never gotten into 5thist lore yet and now I absolutely need to!
I really enjoyed the extra credit portion. Many of these are very fun to listen to but having that out-of-character explanation is really effective in bringing the stories to a point where they inspire.
Okay, first of all I'm not going to sleep tonight, thank you Second of all YES! I really want this extra credit scenes to explain better some anomalies, because sometimes, specially with Fifthism and Pattern Screamers, the details become so confusing that if you're not already very deep into the GOI, it's gonna fly right above your head. I hope this continues as a segment for all to see, since it gives some clarity to what exactly we're dealing with.
For the pattern screamers, I can really recommend listening to the Exploring series channel. He goes into depth, drawing connections, and really helps paint the picture. The Extras would essentially be Volgun‘s own version from here on out, but the older content won‘t be overhauled, so the Explored series helps there. Also, both channel don‘t cover the exact same SCPs, so please don‘t consider the Extras as a rip-off (just in case…). They are more an expansion into new types of content for Volgun. =)
@@ArDeeMee I've watched the Pattern Screamers video of The Exploring Series, I am a subscriber of his channel XD It's just that some of them are not very obvious in article
Loved the extra credits! It's the best parts of your adaptations mixed with the deep dives you get on channels like The Exploing Series. I'd love to see more.
I love the 3rd and 4th gen SCPs. They’re late enough in the game that they’re more story focused and well written but early enough to not be part of the ‘my SCP is the most powerful and scariest one and it can beat your SCP up’ middle school creative writing assignment that the latest gen seems to fall into. Fifthist stuff is always the best form of brainfuck out there!
One of my favorites is the SCP Aerials which is from the 7000's series. It's on this channel too, and man, does it give me old school vibes. Since I got into the community halfway through the 1000's and 2000's started getting really fleshed out later
I really love skips that look at what happens when SRAs go wrong. So many entries treat them as a magic bullet for preventing reality alteration or containing the uncontainable. To see what they can do when malfunctioning, or perhaps just by existing at all... It's the same vein of horror that says "A lock keeps things out, or keeps them in... But what happens when someone else wants to use a lock on you?"
I like the addition of extra credits to explain more cryptic and complex SCP's. What could be cool going forward is something akin to "after school lessons". What i mean is doing logs or descriptions of groups, concepts or the like to help people better understand the universe as a hole. I know that those would take a long time but for the quality you always give, I believe it would be worth the wait. Fantastic work as always doctor.
I always go in the comments after a Volgun video to read the comments so I can get the actual context the articles often lack. I really like hearing Volgun himself explain it
That seconspart really helps. I was about to go down a rabbit hole of comments and forum posts to get some, probably incomplete, context on this one, when you suddenly gave us everything I needed. Excellent work, both parts!
PLEASE continue extra credit, Some things are just TOO confusing and this just made the video 100 times better for me, especially because I listen to while gaming.
Extra Credit is definitely a good idea, I listen to these primarily when I'm working, and when these proper weird ones come around, sometimes you're sat at the end of the adaptation like "what"
Extra credit is something I’d personally love to have as a part of this channel, in this instance it helps me better understand what exactly the anomaly is and what it’s doing
ohhhh i do love me some fithist SCPs, am so glad you covered this one, i read it a while back and the line "When I check in on it, a party game stares up at me" really stuck with me for some reason. that section of the experiment log reminds me of absurdist literature which i love, thank you for all your efforts!!
Extra credit is an amazing edition, so long as it isn't too crazy to maintain on top of the work you're already doing, I'd love to keep hearing it. It's like it was something missing that I never realized was missing,
I like the extra credit idea, especially on a more confusing entry such as this, it helps wrap my head around the concept and keeps it structured so it doesn’t feel too much like a cheat sheet
Yes, please continue Extra Credit! As well as being a nice meta informative segment, as you said with it being a 4th wall break it feels like a discussion phase with the professor
I really appreciate the extra credits segment it makes it way easier to digest but also having it separate means that people who got it (or think they did) don't miss anything if they skip it. it's really nice
Love the extra credit! It really helps make sense of the broader context of the work for folks like me who aren’t that into the multiple platforms the SCP universe and discussion takes place, I’ve barely dug into the wiki and really appreciate the link pe and resources!
love the extra credit, as someone who is only familiar with the SCP universe through audio style UA-cam videos like yours, I love the extra peek behind the curtain.
The extra credit was great, especially for something so vague. I would normally seek it out myself, so it's nice to have it presented as part of the video
Yes, the extra credit was super helpful as I don't follow the lore of the SCP really closely so this helps immensely, especially on the more bizarre SCP entries.
Always floored by your voice acting skill, mate. You're way better than even professionals I've heard in popular media. I love the extra credit segment too. This one was very weird and hard to grasp even loosely conceptually.
Love the extra credit idea. I was a big fan already of how you explain things "in character", but getting additional info and explanations really helps and is just more interesting stuff to consider which is always welcome!
I really enjoyed "Extra Credit". As someone who consumes quite a bit of SCP content from multiple sources I still get lost on some of the more esoteric reads, especially ones involving reality bending. This was an awesome addition to help put things into context. Keep it up!
Extra Credit is incredibly helpful, educational, and entertaining. Working with the authors and creators especially adds depth and breadth to the SCP. I’d love an extra credit “meta” episode which discusses some of the effects various SCPs and related lore have on our localized reality. For example, how various SCPs have jumped the 4th wall into other media such as video games, books, movies/TV, or even news articles.
I'd definitely like to see more extra credit sections for the more esoteric SCPs: this explanation really helped contextualize a lot of the more confusing parts of this one

Absolutely please do more extra credit sections! It’s a great way to help process and digest the content! Great work as usual buddy!
Used to watch your SCP videos and enjoy them, but this was above and beyond. Your voice acting has come on miles, everything better. Keep this up!
The extra credit was indeed enjoyable, and honestly the quality on that SCP log was fantastic. Hope you keep up the good work!
Thank you including the Extra Credit portion! The extra context made it even more impactful
Really appreciate the Extra Credit!!! I definitely needed it for this one, I was deeply confused!
Extra credit was fantastic, as was the reading itself as usual. Hope you continue this format, it's really great!
PLEASE continue extra credit, Some things are just TOO confusing and this just made the video 100 times better for me, especially because I listen to while gaming.
I like the extra credits, pretty helpful and having someone else review the episode helps confirm or dissuade my ideas. It’s fun
Extra credit is a phenomenal idea! Please continue it more, and what a beautiful entry you made today. Wonderful audio and exceptional execution
Extra credit is a game changer! I absolutely loved hearing your input!
ohhhh i do love me some fithist SCPs, am so glad you covered this one, i read it a while back and the line "When I check in on it, a party game stares up at me" really stuck with me for some reason. that section of the experiment log reminds me of absurdist literature which i love, thank you for all your efforts!!
Can’t believe I didn’t realize it was a haywire SRA. Well, at least the extra credit told me.
Wow that was amazing voice acting I loved how convincing the distress was as you read the audio logs great job!
This was fantastic, and the extra credit was a sublime addition. Thanks for all of your work !
I really appreciate the voice acting in this. It's really impressive
I really enjoyed the extra curriculum section. Helps me understand everything much better.
Yes, the extra credit was super helpful as I don't follow the lore of the SCP really closely so this helps immensely, especially on the more bizarre SCP entries.
I enjoyed the extra credit, as it was pretty informative. Hope you decide to keep doing them where needed.
Extra credit is a wonderful idea! Getting a bit more of a deep dive into some of the abstract SCP's is awesome.
Keep it up!
Yes! Please make the extra credit section a regular thing. It's fantastic!
I really love the extra credit scene. Maybe not for every video but the ones that are generally very confusing for the fandom
