This is exactly how I thought Guitar Solos should’ve sounded as a child, This whole song leaves the listener completely full. Vocals, Bass, Guitar all of it are perfect. I would kill to be 20 in 79’ instead of now!

And yes I swear, everytime I saw them back in the day ( 70's, 80's, 90's, and once or twice in the 2,000"s but mostly in the 70's and 80's ), it seemed like there where no less than 3 to 5 groups on stage at once. Between The P-Funk band, Bootsy's Rubber-band, Parlet, The Brides of Funkenstein and Fred Wesley with Maceo and the Funky Horns, it was easily 20 or more people on stage at any given time, and George kept everybody on the ONE ! I'm 61 now thank you GOD!! I first saw these brothers at cobo hall. In the big D. Cobo hall has been torn down, J.L.A. is about to be. But I can remember one of the baddest concerts out of the I been to, I will never forget this one 1977 at cobo the whole place was lit with weed smoke. All of a sudden somebody said look up!!! Man the mothership was way up in the ceiling, went over everybody's head smoke coming from the silver mothership, lights blinking all different colors, and just like on the album cover the door opened up and George stepped out with them big white platform boots on, MAN the crowd went absolutely crazy ten thousand people all high as shit, man I'll never forget that experience, and not one person got shot, stabbed, or nothing the 70's was sweettt as hell, you had to be there.
    Peace😎

Rest In Peace Garry, Old Friend ... [Shider was born in Plainfield, New Jersey. At the age of ten and under the guidance of his father Jesse, Garry and his brothers played and sang behind many gospel artists of the time including legends such as Shirley Caesar, The Five Blind Boys, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, and others. As a youth Shider was also a regular customer at the Plainfield barbershop owned by George Clinton, where the future members Parliament would sing doo-wop for customers and counsel local youngsters. Clinton made note of the young Shider's talents on guitar and his ability with gospel singing.
Shider is featured prominently in many hit songs like "Cosmic Slop," "Getting to Know You," and "One Nation Under a Groove". He co-wrote many noteworthy Parliament-Funkadelic songs, and he made important contributions to P-Funk spin-off acts including Bootsy Collins and Eddie Hazel.]

I saw Parliament Funkadelic at the funk festival held at the L.A. coliseum. I think it was 1978. Then i saw them again at the Santa Monica Civic auditorium. It was the early 80's. They sounded so damn good it was ridiculous. I love this band. The music is some of the best music I have ever heard. I dig the lyrics and the whole concept of the band. Amassing Music.

Kinggreese79, That WAS Michael Hampton playing on the 1976 live version. That song was recorded during rehearsal for the P-Funk Earthtour at an airport hanger in Newburg. Eddie Hazel was in jail at the time. Eddie Hazel played on the original studio version from the album, Cosmic Slop. Michael tore it up on this and the 1976 live version. I wish that people would stop it with the comparisons. Michael is a great guitarist as was Eddie Hazel. They had different styles, but both were great.
