Let be honest, The Funkadelic are the greatest rock band period.
The greatest band to ever walk the planet 🎤🎵🎶🎼🎻🎹🎷🎺🎸
No doubt...
THE GREATEST ROCK BAND EVER !!!!!
Most would argue Rock band, either way, you are right.
Funkadelic, The Mothers of Invention, Headhunters etc etc
This track makes me happy i'm 72 and feel 20 when i hear this 😜
Me too😂
Man, I love the way that cat rides the cymbal. That is right on.
I was 25 when this was recorded. Somehow I missed the whole funk thing. Forty years later I come across these P-Funk videos and they just blow me away. Better late than never, I guess.
I was 24 when I went to my brother Luther's crib in a project in Brooklyn, NY, 1977 and he spun me some Parliament, vinyl that is. I got sick and am still sick. Parliament funked my Delic up to the max!
Man what was you doing lol
Man what was you doing at this time lol
Feel sorry for you u miss the real shit man
Been hearing this funk for ages,welcome.....and never leave!
This video from 1970 is better than all of the other versions for sure. As far as quality and length go. Long live P-Funk
U never lied 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾💯
Actually, I think this video is from 1978-79(?) "The Anti-Tour"
My son is 26 I turned him on to funkadelic when he was 3 Lord I meant no wrong now he listens to George and Hendrix😊😊😊😊😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Good parenting! I have two kids. My son is one of us too! I'm afraid, he was born 20 years too late though. Ha!
@@a.ritchie1525 that was shit
You need to turn your son on to early Robin Trower and Frank Marino (of Mahogany Rush) too.
Well done......did you introduce Thin Lizzy to him?
@@anthonybryan9620 no they had a Bad Reputation!!!😂😂😂😂
The crazy thing is even to this day, I’ve yet to hear another band that blends in the rock and roll as tightly as they did in with the funk. You can definitely hear that Detroit rock n roll influence in their tunes. Incredible talent from every member of this band, seriously.
Ever heard FISHBONE or Red Hot Chili Peppers????
@@richnice1975These 2 bands wish they were as good as Parliament-Funkadelic
@@YourbankaccountI respectfully disagree. Neither Fishbone nor RHCP would exist were it not for P-Funk, BUT, I prefer Fishbone and RHCP, each of which brought in elements of punk, jazz, ska, etc and have far better songwriting. There’s a reason why RHCP sells out stadiums to this day.
@@richnice1975 Selling out stadiums doesn't mean the music is better lol. By going with your logic yall of the jazz greats suck because they don't sell out concerts for 100,000 people? And btw as a RHCP fan, I'm really disappointed with the return of John. These last 2 albums were kinda boring compared to the Getaway. Anyways, you better make sure to check out all of P-Funk discography and rethink your statement afterwards.
@@Yourbankaccount You’re absolutely right that selling out stadiums doesn’t make their music better. A lot of trash sells out stadiums regularly. But take into account how RHCP sells out stadiums all across the globe, and has sold billions of records internationally. Music is subjective so it’s impossible to decide which artist is better. It’s certainly not about ticket and record sales, despite my observation, but these can’t be disregarded either. I would argue that RHCP is better because they’ve been way more popular and influential worldwide, while recognizing they wouldn’t exist without P-Funk. But hey, you obviously know your stuff and have excellent taste. More power to you brother!
IF YOU GOT A THING FOR FUNK MUSIC,GIVE GEORGE CLINTON AND THE P-FUNK CREW SOME LOVE BY SMASHING THE THUMBS UP BUTTON.👍👍👍👍👍
The great Ray Davis on bass vocals! RIP
Which one is the bass vocal- would you tell me a time stamp when he appears please?
@@thomasbrown7328 2:51. Closest to the camera.
Adds a whole 'nother level to the performance. ((😳))
JUST LISTEN TO THE MUSICIANS and HOW THEY SPOKE so respectfully and positive about life and how it should be.
The hard solos and duos and band wide performances are self explanatory and just show how excellent playing of the music was the most important part of performing and getting their message out to all people alike !!!
My favorite song to hear my uncle sing!!!! I miss u soooo much!!!!😘😘 love u uncle!!! #RestEasy
yes, baby. No disrespect to the rest of the band, but Gary and Glen Goins WERE Funkadelic!
B Smith ...yesssss.....and eddie hazel 💙
Your uncle was a bad dude with a guitar and microphone...also a good friend. I miss Garry every day.
Your uncle is a LEGEND !
@@MoneyOverFame AMEN!!!!
There are no words. Funkadelic concert had you paralyzed. Show over, lights on, people wouldn't move. Its like what galactic ride did we just step out of. ❤❤❤
been a Funkateer since 1977, still straight fire, it hits me harder now a days
The deep voice wow and great band
I learned to play from watching Michael Hampton. P-Funk forever
Legendary. Their music sounds like a jam session that morphed into a hit!!!!
Maybe it was, listen to this riff from sugar shack 1972. This was before cosmic slop but you can hear parts of the song like the bass line. ua-cam.com/video/gy3nA8tjixM/v-deo.html
Actually unbelievably this song was a flop and failed to chart along with the entire album when it came out. It's my favorite song by far
Amazing piece of art, every time they play it differently
Funkadelic concert in 1973 columbia sc township auditorium.me my boys and the funk mob, smoked until we were all blind
This is the theme song for the genius that is George Clinton, Parliament-Funkadelic & the whole Funk Mob. I'm proud I was there to witness it's beginning and morph from Doo-wop.
Yes sir......from Parliament "I just want to testify" 60's Doo Wop hit ! To the 70's 80's pure funk bands!
that bass line that goes on and on till the end, what a groove, cant stop shaking my head.
Ilke Cetin no doubt- not seen but definitely heard.
it a mofo
Relentless just like that Larry graham bass line on Prince's Motherless child live
Likewise and ditto!
The bomb
Great soul-full vocals and of course kick-ass musicians. Bass rocks it.
This song- Cosmic Slop, NUFF SAID ! Who hasn’t heard their MA’MA call, i’ll waitttttttttt, LOVE the FUNK , will live forever for the FUNK, then LOVE for the FUNK ! Long life and many blessings for George Clinton ! Eddie, Ray, Gary, Bernie, Kid Funkadelic, the brides of Funkenstein and the entire Parliament Funkadelic Nation, be blessed and fruitful ! 1
We will never see musicians and talent like this ever again! It can't be duplicated no matter how many try!!
PREACH PREACH👍
The baddest rock group ever!!!
FORTY YEARS LATER and I STILL get more satisfaction and a deeper meaning from this than from most of today's so-called "popular" music, which is mostly TRASH.
God, I am living for that fucking tone
Funkadelic was banging so hard back in the 70's that their music is sampled to make the bangin ass music today
..... and it took has the satanic deal of approval.
I was THERE!!!
When I first heard Funkadelic I hated them. It was weird Then when I became older I totally got it. My favorite group.
When I was 15 I loved give up the funk, and forgot about them. So glad I rediscovered them later and found they had a whole awesome discography.
It's amazing how maturity works! So many bands and genres I would grow to love with age. This is absolutely mint.
Lol...took me a minute to understand Funkadelic too! But when I got it, I ran my ass off with it!!
They grow on you!
Nothing good comes easy
I always knew these guys were good ...I didn't know they were this good. Played this 26 times already. Im a hip hop aficionado but this right here...
Outkasts "Stankonia" is heavily influenced by the old Westbound-era Funkadelic catalog.
This is 100,000 feet above hip hop my son and still climbing.
You didn't know,??? You must be a young cat. That's Kool, cause the entire universe must come to know the Funk of Parliament Funkadelic!
@@TheIridium6 thanks god someone said something

THE BADDEST MOTHERFONKERS IN THE WORLD!
...THE GALAXY...
That bass....
I remember my parents fighting and this song was playing in the background… I such a strange trauma bond with this song.
Needless to say The RHCP learned well from the Kings. Classic Stankiness👊🏾💥
Bass just walked all over this.
Long live Miss Angela 2-8-45 -12-25-2020
Those Cats and Chicks are accomplished musicians. They seem to be so wild and party all the time, you would think they would be sloppy and not as tight.
not at all, my friend. as George says, "free yo mind, and yo ass will follow." same goes for psychedelic musicianship.
James Antonio I fully agree they seem wild but they were serious musicians!
Cosmic slop great. Version !!
loving this from italy with joy
I was 16 years old listen to this now I'm 61
Still listening 2019!
And I’m listening in 2020! I still have my album.

Slinky's
I was living in south Carolina when I first heard this on the radio station coming out of savannah GA. Went to the record shack and bought this immediately. I think I must have every funkadelic record in all the forms on vinyl. But this song is just a funk behemoth
The freaking guitar solos over that beautiful riff! Biggest respect and love to all the menz_ on this side and the other.
Love my 70 80 music.
head banging shit! I love it!
The 1st time I saw Parliament funkadelic was in Columbia South Carolina it was Worth every penny
One of my Favorite Songs drk
I saw them at Hammersmith in the 70's and nothing has come close. I've been tom lots of gigs. Jamiroquai at the Jazz Cafe would be next but shit... Bootsy, George, Glenn, Michael, Junie (Ohio players!!!) Come on that is a super group
THIS IS FUNK PEOPLE!!!! ALL U UP AND WANNA BEES TAKE NOTICE!!!

what a fantastic show
Absolutely monstrous playing. Like one living organism of expert performers, all blending into one. Hampton and Shider deserve to be talked about more often.
Michael Hampton
Zonie deep where was eddie hazel that time
@@ugurakbulut1068 If I remember correctly and I am pretty sure of it-jail.
Yup jail, he got into a fight on a flight, was sentence to probation then got caught with drugs later.
Kid Funkadelic 😍

If ye want to figure out the drum parts, this is the one to study.
Eu Amo 💞
How George Clinton paid all these cats??? Iconic!
He wasn't able to because of how expensive the tours got and poor management with record companies.
He didn't
@@alreynolds3997 he gave them.drugs. and took it out of their salaries
He didn't damn shame great musicians and vocalist he got them young straight from the crib and fed them drugs and the great ones like Eddie Hazel who was far better then Michael Hampton died young
