I agree. He just is relentless. Totally relentless. Duran has great reflexes even at 37. He eluded a lot of Barkley's potential strong punches. Not all of course but enough to stay out of trouble. And then after using those split second reflexes he often came back with his best punches: Overhand rights. Barkley looked great most of this fight. He had a lot of good shots and tactics but the ultimate cumulative affect on Duran wasn't enough. Had this fight been a 15 rounder i believe Duran would have had a strong chance of knocking Barkley out. Barkley showed tremendous heart also. He just didn't get much momentum in any one stretch. Yes Duran coming on strong in the late rounds surely won him the fight. The big point spreads by all 3 judges was kind of weird. I'd say Duran won more like 115-112. His heart and his IQ just makes him a monster. He is the master at getting his rest in a few seconds at a time in the close quarters sections of the fight and literally mixes in some good punches to Barkley. Barkley gets some good shots too but Duran somehow minimizes them with his subtle movements. His chin of stone certainly helped him keep Barkley from gaining any momentum when Barkley connected good... Duran just came back again. He couldn't be overcome. What a great fighter!
Also he came into the fight 4 pounds under the limit, plus he was fighitng in Barkleys backyard and also Barkley was coming from knocking Hearns out, Duran was really different.

Duran defensive slip, roll and bob skills are unreal and not talked about enough because he is such a phenomenal counter puncher.
Duran is one fine boxer. I love him, Dread Lion King
No one, and I mean no one uses his shoulders like Roberto. What a defense!
😂pfffft hmmmph...Floyd make him.look.like a beginner u 🤪 🤪 🤪 🤪
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 hysterically hysterically 😂😂😂😢😂😂
Duran est un grand Maître,q on a de cesse d 'admirer ,alors qu 'il approche la quarantaine.
Époustouflant!!!

My All-Time favorite fighter winning my all-time favorite fight!
Boxing is the greatest sport because we can go back in time and still enjoy these great fights.
You gonna go back and watch a whole football or basketball game from 89?
What a😟 legendary fight. Roberto is truly a powerfullly and strong fighter. DefinantlyDuran is in my top five fighters. 🇺🇸 ⭐️ 🇵🇦
One of the best greatest upset in boxing. They won't allow this kind of matchmaking anymore of age discrepancies, kind of boring nowadays...
Hands of stone ❤
Duran at 37 years! One of the greatest ever! Manos de Piedra!
Fantastic fight.
DURAN!!! WOW!
Watching Duran is watching poetry in motion.
Два настоящих бойца.👍
Duran is the best ever ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
If you don't do research....Henry Armstrong, Jack Dempsey, Barney Ross, Jimmy Wilde, and the man who never was beaten...Rocky Marciano were better. Also throw in Joe Lewis.
If you don't do the research and go off emotion then Duran is one of the tops.
RDuran is one of my best favorite boxers since the 1980 just like our very own MPACQUIAO KNOCKING OUT BIG OPPONENTS.
Quackiou has nothing on manos de piedras
@@Elmagnifico507that would've been an amazing fight or also against chavez
Duran 1,68 m vs barkley 1,87 m
Duran 37 vs barckley 28 years old
Duran 🐐vs barckeley great champion
Duran is one of the greatest fighters!
Better skilled than tyson
Duran . Mi maximo idolo . Tremendo luchador con 37 años .
it was a masterclass by Duran. A lot of the punches by Barkley were evaded by Duran's subtle and economical head movement, the judges noticed this. Duran won 7 of the 12 rounds. Bernstein's commentary is hard to listen to, it's as if he's watching a different fight. a true classic contest
Duran is the history
Dempsey and Jimmy Wilde paved the way....Also Jack Johnson.
Great Great fight, I had it just a little bit closer 116,113 to Duran .Respect to both warriors, but Duran at 37, not a natural middleweight, giving away so much height and reach, to a tough puncher Barkley in his prime , makes this one of if not the all time best performances.Duran showed why he was a legend on this night .
Jimmy Wilde was also a legend....It's just that people will not do their research if the fighter was before the critics time. Wilde...better than Duran....So was Henry Armstrong and Barney Ross.

This never gets old duran showed everyone how to slay a monster duran slayed a lot of monsters and dragons in his day and could still beat your ass now
Wow that sounds so intelligent 😍 👌 😄 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 gtfs
I've been a fight fan for over 45 yes and to tell anyone that this is not one of the best fights that I've ever seen just back-and-forth brutal work and 1 man just fell off more or less and the other conquered what a war again I've seen so many battles I mean there's no more wonderful knockouts in the world but this is a true battle with a brutal ending enjoy folks🎉
the aurturro Ghatti vs Micky Ward was better.
Please! TOPRANK! Before I die I need to see Duran v Sugar Ray Leonard 1 in this quality! Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaase!
Why? That's when Duran said "No Más?
@@sammyoyola2042no, that’s when Duran won. The rematch was when he supposedly said no mas
Duran has beaten the odds again in this fight
The way Duran diminishes opponent’s power and reach is amazing.
I can't help but wonder Julio Caesar Chavez, And Duran in their prime lightweights. That would be one Hell of a fight
Creo duran lo noquearia antes del 8
So would Barney Ross...who had his carrier inturrupted by WW2...Ross over Chavez.
Para que veamos otro Durán. Pasarán muchos años
The Weight Difference on the Night 🌙 must've been HUGE, I mean there was 3 pounds ⚖ at the weigh in. Duran was NO 160lbs Fighter - nor 154lbs for that matter, the fact he competed at those weights 🏋♀️ is Amazing, the sheer Grit & Tenacity of the Man 👨 was well worth applauding indeed👌👏
And with no catch weight or rehydration clauses nonsense they do now a days to get a advantage to win.
@@ThePeterReyes Not to mention those Tinpot Alphabet bodies whom demand outrageous amount of cash from a Fighter's purse to defend their useless/worthless World Titles - at the same time they have the nerve to introduce "Interim" & "Super" of their Divisions as well, no wonder the normal guy on the street doesn't know sweet fuck all about Boxing, and thier Fighters
Never cut weight for wrestling, huh
@@montewold2223 huh?
Duran.....The GOAT......❤
