I was there my dad took me to the Garden I was only 8 years old. I was in awe of Roy Jones Jr, it looked like he was made of steel. He was cruising for the majority of the fight, respect to Trinidad for showing heart and going down swinging. I remember the Puerto Ricans came out and showed him a lot of support, they were going back and forth with the black guys but everybody showed each other respect in the end. The atmosphere in the Garden was electric that night.

This was the era it would take an hour before the Boxing Match even started!
▪︎ the walk out to the ring,1 boxer at a time
    ▪︎ Individual Introductions
▪︎ Individual Weight, Records, Titles held, etc
▪︎ multiple National Anthems, typically sung by "stars" in the Music Industry, and they took their time, too.
▪︎ daps and hugs from EVERY PERSON in the entourage
▪︎ hugs from the Cornermen, including last minute instructions
▪︎ "Llllllllllllleettsss get ready to Rumblllllllllllllle!"

@The so called casual I respectfully disagree with you on that. While it IS true that it is difficult to find many recognizable names on Roy's resume, I think prime Roy was just too big for Tito to handle even if Tito was in his prime. I love Tito too, but I believe Roy would have had enough skill to hold Tito off. Had prime Tito faced the same version of Roy that we seen in 2008 then I agree Tito could have won

As a Boricua, I rooted for Tito… all the way. That being said, I knew Roy would win the fight. Jones is an undisputed champion and confortable at that weight. He has faced extremely tough contenders, and won. But one thing for certain: Tito fought valiantly amid Roy’s power. The knock down, very common for Tito to get up, and most cases knock the other guy out. He did not win this one, but he lasted the 12 rounds!

But truth is, Roy is the P4P GOAT and in his prime he made everyone look like they were amateurs. He fought a lot of undefeated guys on his rise, he was just that good that it made them look like they weren't shit.
