  • Brandon goes on the hunt for the elusive Hawaiian day octopus. He creates an epic gyotaku fish-print using the octopus he captured while diving. The Tako was then used to create Tako Medallion Carpaccio, a full circle process from start to finish!

      Can’t beat tako diving, usually shallow and calm water, plus they don’t swim away 🤙🏻

    I did some Humboldt Squid fishing a while back and those guys had some scary beaks. Do you ever get bit by these guys?

      I’ve seen videos of those Humboldt squids, definitely on our to do list! Yes the tako here sometimes bite, they usually squeeze tightly right before they do, although it’s not very common

      @@SakanaSyndicate right on bud! Ya we caught them about 10years back out of Monterey Bay. Thanks for the info, I’m doing my research before heading out that way in March! We have the Giant Pacific Octopus out here in Cali but they are such a rare sight I just enjoy their company

    Dat wasn’t naupaka, dat was Heliotropium arboreum. But yes naupaka and spit is the best defogger.

      Thank you for that info, got it mixed up with the plant that was near. But yes that combo beats any dofogger that you can buy in the stores 🤙🏻

    I want to know more about sea grapes

    • @SakanaSyndicate
      @SakanaSyndicate  6 місяців тому +1

      Sea grapes have a mild but distinctive flavor that is somewhere between salty and sweet, with a light crunchy texture. Many people compare them to caviar because of the similarity in texture and flavor, although sea grapes tend to be slightly sweeter than true caviar.
