The Homunculi sometime induce an erasure cloud like gas from their body. Perhaps that's why all of them are named after Clouds. Just like how the Angels was named after a Good Things and the Demons was anmed after Bad Things
The Homunculi intro theme really never fails to give me goosebumps and I always found myself being excited when a new enemy type shows up with that music.

While I agree the game is great, there are some things that, while they work really well.....I dunno, they feel off. The gameplay is great, but Bayonetta's combat has always been mix and match 2 weapons until you find what works for you. Getting rid of the arm and leg armament choice is simplifying the combat, a lot. Not a bad thing, but it makes bayonetta feel off. Then there is the demon masquerade and the demon slave. Masquerade is basically a devil trigger to get around and slave is basically Umbran Climax as a beast master + torture attacks mashed together. Seriously I adore this game, I will rate it quite high and recommend it to fans....but I have gripes with it. Doesn't mean my "inconveniences" make the game any less good, just kinda different than what we are accustomed from Bayonetta. What I'm getting at...it feels like playing a much more combo oriented DMC than Bayonetta

I think Cheshire and Baal are my favorites! But heck so many of the designs were pretty cool overall! Can't wait for the release of the artbook, I own the first two for the other games and love all the concepts

I find the concept about these homunculi being of human origin (albeit from another universe) to be very unsettling. Reminds me of one of the few solutions (and one of the more disquieting ones) of the infamous Fermi Paradox.
Okay what I strongly don't like is a completely different tone of the game. First two game had a very lighthearted feel and positive feel to them, while this one is quite gloomy. Its the story, the color palette, the music, the weather in most of scenes, the background featuring mass destruction and massive loss of life, the enemies design, etc. Also the fact that they killed off almost all of the crew... Even the opening cinematic starts in some post-apocalyptic landscape, while in the previous game it was Christmass celebration, shopping and goofy jokes.

There are some designs from here I definitely am a fan of, mostly the more non-humanoid ones like Cavum, Congestus, Virga, and Castellanus. Most lesser demons I can remember the names and faces of, but a number of the lesser angels I don't because there's so damn many of em. I think a big problem is the fact that pretty much every demon/angel used relatively common words as names, things like Joy, Greed, Fearless, and Hatred. But the Homoculi have more scientific based names (being themed after clouds), which are alot weirder and alot harder to recall at a quick glance.
I think I still love the first version the most. Most attractive, wonderfull intro, it feels so real more than this one. Things happen quite similar to the first game. The only different is theirs outlook@@ What the heck@@

what I don't like is the huge downgrade in graphics and going from 60fps -> inconsistent 30fps

@@deGoomyan5538 No they're not, Bayonetta is made by PlatinumGames, and Devil May Cry is made by Capcom. And before you say it, Hideki Kamiya was only involved in the development of the first Devil May Cry game, and hasn't had anything to do with the series since.

So some new demons lots of new enemies no new Angels disappointed kind of but the new enemies and demons are super cool regardless
To be fair the angels have been weakened 2 games in a row. They’re kinda just observers in this one
