The enemies and bosses in this game are awesome. Usually in every DMC game there's at least one boss or enemy that frustrates the hell out of me or makes me sigh because of how lame it is. But not in DMC5.
even the most annoying enemy in this game imo (hell judecca) is still way better than the spiders and fallen from dmc3 and the chimera and blitz from dmc4

Death scythe from DMC 1 will always b my favorite mini boss to fight, I'd get it to its powered up form just to watch it move but my all time fav boss will always b argosax the Chaos embodied from 2
That game had to shove a cutscene down your throat every minute so yeah. I like these and i like battle "cutscenes" and dialogue Vergil got in mission 19 but just compare to how the reboot handled it, that fight had like 6 pace killer unnecessary as hell cutscenes and forced you to play a certain way with the color codes and making him invincible at the end to everything but devil trigger. It had cool concepts but it was such a shit game.

The main characters are all descendants of one demon; If they're not demons, they're regular humans. Everyone either uses *human modified* guns and swords, or *demon created* guns and swords.

Then after DMC4, Bayonetta brought enemy names on-screen as well for a brief moment. DmC reboot took inspiration from Bayonetta for this. And so did DMC5. The reboot did not inspire anything here, did not start anything here nor is it suddenly a better game because of this. These intros are literally a mix between OG DMC and Bayonetta which was also created from the DMC1 creator. Saying shit like "fun fact this is from the reboot" or "oh look itsuno likes the reboot" is just inaccurate

In Bayonetta's case, there's a gradual pause to showcase the enemy, what follows is a transition where a page featuring the enemy is show, then goes back to the game proper. In both DmC and DMC 5, it's an instant pause introducing the demon's name, then quickly goes back to the game. Itsuno did explicitly mention he took visual cues from the reboot

The presence of Death Scissors and Frost in the later games of DMC1 may be the allusion that Mundus is still alive and up for the round 2
Griffon, Nightmare and Panther are basically DMC1 as well. Though Griffon had a lot more character now.
