Taking a rare 1964 Lancia Flavia Zagato, Purchased from Gentleman Racer Toly Arutunoff and cleaned up in Canada! see how she turned out!
As an American who lives in Oklahoma, I respect the sovereignty of Canada, our neighbor and our ally. You are one of a kind Alex....good man
Well, that's a minimum, we're a country on our own you know. A big part of our pride is in fact about "not being americans". Just remind your future tyran-in-chief about it 🥰
Thank you Sandy, As a Canadian who lives on Vancouver Island British Columbia I too respect the sovereignty of Canada as well as that of the USA, Panama, Greenland/Finland, Mexico and all other countries on this planet. How about we all try to live in peace and fix our own nation’s issues internally and not flood the zone with chaos and disinformation. .. and I love watching UTube car repair channels!
You certainly have done your car justice! Wow, great job, I am glad you are pleased.
Excellent job as always Alex.
love seeing the whole process, she's beautiful!
As a woman I’m not much of a car person but I do enjoy watching you bring a car back to life. You have tons of patience to strip all that paint off. Looks amazing Alex.
I love your work ethics. I am certain it will be beautiful when finished. You are the original recycler ❤
"sounds like a bag of hammers tied to a ceiling fan" - I always liked that description.
That car looks amazing!!! It will exist for many more years and not end up in a field to rot away. Thanks for the showing us the process.
Wow Alex 😅! As a mechanic and car rebuilder for over 50 years, I can vouch for you that this was a lot of work and a huge success! The paint preparation is critical and you hit the mark 👍😃👏👏👏❤️!
Never would have thunk it, but I'm enjoying this video. Not a car person, but this is interesting. It's a beautiful car now that it's all refinished.
I absolutely love the lines of that car...and the shade of red couldn't be better. thanks for sharing.
Wow Alex! I stayed for the whole hour and 16 minutes. You knows so much. And you look like you’re having fun. Thanks for the entertainment. See you in the next one.
Thank you for putting that together so we could see it from start to finish.
As an Australian living through a heatwave it's nice to see your smiling face doing fun stuff with old cars in a temperate climate.
This was a great video . What made it fun for me was your excitement, determination, enthusiasm , and pure joy in what your doing. You made it fun to watch each step you accomplished. Great work Alex.
Well done, Alex. I'm not a big car restoration watcher, but the way you did the video was great. I watched the whole video. The car looks beautiful, and it's a credit to all your hard work ❤ from Australia
crazy looking little thing. I wouldnt have thought it would have come out this nicely. cool, good job.
This LANCIA ZAGATO episode is in my all-time 50 best of's.
What stands out for me is how stunning the design is... It's a futuristic line design for its time, absolutely smashing 👌.
If you were to say it's a new ELON MUSK creation, everyone would believe it and praise it.
You did fabulous attention to detail craftsmanship Alexander Archbold.
A bonus mentions to the great RAYMOND the mechanic who's a living "The SIMPSONS" character.
BRAVO 👏!!!
Great to see it all together! Nice long visit with Alexander working.
Amazing work
You do such good work
Stunning. Just stunning.
Oh my gosh! It looks so beautiful!
Well done that Man,💯
It looks beautiful! I would keep the front bumper on.
Beautifully done, Alex. I am happy for you. Your efforts have paid off big time!🏁🚩👍👍

You have to be proud of your work there ! A stunning final product
Awesome car!
Thanks for having so much in one video. Some folks can’t watch as long but it did make the steps easier to follow.
Beautiful Absolutely Beautiful. Alexander, you did a fantastic job. You are always so very precise and thorough. Thank you so much for taking us along. John here, photographing the beauty of the back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee, y'all.
Incredible. I’d call her “The Lady In Red”. Great work, Alex!! 💕✌🏼
What is great about your videos is getting to live vicariously through your adventures. I really enjoyed the star to finishing of the weird but beautiful Lancia, great job! GBY and your family!
I had to stop at the 18:04 to tell you that I have never been much of a foreign car fan but I.really dig this Lancia. The whole package was done well. I like its unique personality and love the rear passenger side windows. It is going to look fantastic in the red you chose. Well, back to the video.
Finished your restoration video and the Lancia is totally beautiful. You did a great job, Alex! I wish I had the money to buy it from you!
A labor of love. Thank you Alex.❤
That is an extremely rare car and you’ve had a fairly sound one to start with. Well worth the time devoted to getting this back to its former glory. These were built by Zagato to be very lightweight for racing. The body is serving that purpose and will be slick aerodynamically as well. Hence the shape. The basic factory coupe is an elegant Italian design n the first place but Zagato totally ripped that up and did this with it. By hand. Absolutely wonderful thing
She looks absolutely fabulous! Great job!❤
My Lord what a beauty, Alexander
Looks great.
Nice job Alex
Another great save !!❤
Alex, this is a wonderful episode. My favorite so far. Your narration, editing and war wounds just exhibit your work ethic and determination to do it yourself and to do it right! Your children have a fantastic example of perfection! I thoroughly enjoy your squirrel moments along the way.
You are a real trooper! Explaining all the weather, noice and distractions along the way. You are YT GOLD! Your attention to mechanical and body details and friendships along the way have served you well.
What a beautiful car . You did a good job on it thanks for the video
Looks really FABULOUS!!
Hi Alex from Ireland, I'm in my 60's and am car blind !( the car is as old as I am ) I could not tell you what any of my family drive !! The work you have done OMG Awh inspiring . XX
What a wonderful restoration video! Thoroughly enjoyed it! The paint stripping gave me flashbacks from my attempts at furniture restoration but glad it all worked out for the car :) You cannot beat that red color for a great looking car! Loved the windows on this one and enjoyed seeing this video this evening :) Well done!
Great Job Alex !!!
What a beauty!
I love this beginning to ending restoration. What a lot of work and well worth the effort- almost like new. Your dedication to these projects is amazing. Be-you-ti-ful ❤❤❤❤
Sweet ride Alexander
Gorgeous car!!! Great job 🎉🎉🎉
What a joy to watch Alex❤🎉🎉🎉
Beautiful car! I love the side and back windows! So I found 1963 Lancia Flavia Sport Zagaro looks a lot like your car!
Looks Great!
Good job looks amazing
Alex you did it again a beautiful restoration, I enjoy your video's so much, keep doing what you're doing putting out very entertaining video's.👍
you had me intrigued. it turned out very spiffy. 👍👍💯
The butt end looks like a mini Rolls Royce! Awesome resto!! 🤗🤗🤗
the bolts in the wheels are used to lock tire bead to the wheel sometimes used in racing. Verry common in off road trucks.
Just looked at comments to see if anybody knew what they where for thanks for the info
I love your work ethics.mmyou are the original re-cycles❤
Sorry , I have cataracts & make many mistakes😮
Excellent job! Long edit too I’m sure. Cheers from Vancouver 😊
That car rocks Alex, great work!
What a beauty Alex 🥰 GREAT JOB🥇🎖️
Please dont go rally in it, you Will cry if the engine puke! Go turing for car shows, and exhibitions… Maybe trips to US as Well… Oil and cooling liquid are the most important… For Old Ladies ❤️🔥!
Congratulations, Alex. Yet another stunning resurrection of a forlorn rare car. For being "just a guy", you do amazing work that is an inspiration to a lot of us non-professionals. Just wish you would pass on to your viewers the correct pronunciation, which is by no means difficult for English speakers. Lancia = lawncha.
I enjoyed the work you done and you done it well. Keep up the nice work.
Thanks Alex!
I like it. Its beautiful! Good choice in color!
You real worked very hard on that car, did really great!
beautiful - a very nice job
If the car came out of the factory with that bumper on. I'd put the bumper on.
Amazing job
Sweet!
What a legend.
Also your sander made the exact same sound as your neighbor's weed whacker :D
The car was lucky to have met you, Alex. Fantastic job!
Outstanding!
Well done Alex!
Having restored many cars i can say that it always takes much longer and costs far more than you could possibly expect when you view it to buy. It's. a great hobby but there is always a stage were you are mentally parting it out and preparing to cut your losses 😊
Outstanding job!
Even though you only moved into the new property not so long ago Alex, you need to start thinking about a new stacked, tripple height climate controled stable to run along the left fence line to house your growing heard of thoroughbreds, either that or leave them outside!!
Or heaven forbid, sell them.
Nice job on the restoration Alex, any plans on revitalising the running gear and underneath as well?
You also might consider a rotisserie to restore under the vehicles as well?
You should be very proud of the work done so far.
Tony from Rural Western Australia 🇦🇺🦘
Nice job Alexander. The itlian connection? You undertook a pretty major restoration. Gonna be the numero uno at many automobile shows. Ciao, baby
Love it!
Astounding: you are a Magician, Alex..
I'm not a car person and don't usually enjoy long videos. I was surprised to find it interesting. If you had made this a series of short videos, I would not have watched them. It's a unique car, for sure and will be fun to share at car shows.
great vid happy new year
Very timely posting for me, as I'm in self-imposed isolation. I'm undergoing chemo on my face (basal cell carcinoma), and the initial shot of the top of the car had me saying -Hey! That looks like my face! The good news is that this is a one and done treatment, but it is rather unattractive at the moment! Cheers from snowy Shelburne, Ontario!
I hope you feel better soon.
Hope you start to feel better soon ❤
❤ God Bless. XXX
❤
My husband is far-away getting treatment, the weather keeps on imposing isolation on me, snowed in for weeks and too cold, tomorrow the snow plow comes, I did walk out and even four wheel out, proud of my driving. Do keep talking to us on you tube. Don’t get cabin fever. Take an online course. Take care of yourself.
Nice job!
a rare itlian sports car?
love the compilation videos
When drag racing we ran screws into the bead to keep the tire from slipping on the rim. It was a strange sound if it slipped on the rim.
Looks beautiful!!!!!
Have seen some flavio’s online and with out front bumper looks more modern and sportier (no extra lights)
I used to live opposite a guy who always had Lancia's one of my favourite pastimes was watching them dissolve in the rain, they rust so bad the 60's and 70's cars especially here in Yorkshire.
Raymond is a gem, does he have his own UA-cam channel?
Tight respect
Alex, when you are stripping large items like cars, if you put a sheet of plastic, like winter window plastic kits, annd lay it over the stripper. This helps keep the chemicals at a stronger power longer. It can be messy, but it helps. Also when you strip outside, can you chase the shade? The sunshine drys stripper out very quickly too. It's been awhile since I've used it, but the environmentally safe strippers never performed and always took more stripper. Maybe they changed some, doesn't really look it to me though. Nice car, very nice car.
This was a car first made in clay, no computers or windtunnels I gess, you have to look at it a bit longer to see the beauty in the details.
👍
You need the bumper on to keep it original.🇨🇦
It's a beaut!
Looks great in red.
Just one very minor point, at 7mins42sec on your vid we can see that the door locks have the slot at the bottom. Later on after you have refitted the handles they are at the top. Like I say a minor point but in a concourse show the judges might notice that the handles are on the wrong side.
I loved the whole Lancia Zagato series. I see those cars can sell for $40,000-$80,000 in top condition. Yours was raced and needed some work, but it sure looks pretty now. Good idea to auction it in the US. Please do a video on the auction when it happens!
Seatbelt is a swedish invention 🤗
My Cimatti City Bike moped also has the flash to pass option. I’m not sure what it would pass. 🤷♂️
Try single edge razor blade in angled handle to strip off paint.
NICE!
Question where did you find that car? It is a work of art. I hope that you enjoy for years to come. Drive it and don’t make it a garage queen enjoy your hard work.
Always remember DC is always searching for ground. Battery disconnect goes on the - negative side of the battery even with+ ground on the vehicle
