'Everyone and their mum's packing round here'
Holy shit Edgar
"Like who?"
"Farmers."
"Who else?"
"Farmers' mums."
@@Hadley.Sinclaire the Andes were right!!
He's brilliant at foreshadowing. Another example : Andy: You wanna be a big cop in a small town? Fuck off up the model village
Has a fight in the model village as a cop 😂
@@aaronkenyon7112 Every freaking line in this film calls back one way or another later.
Hot Fuzz is a British western and I cannot be convinced otherwise.
it's a Western, a buddy cop action movie, a romantic comedy, a murder mystery, some folk horror on the side,
I like how Skinner is the only one who isn't scared or angry. Hes just giddy like "this is what I've always wanted!"
“Nobody tells me nothing.”
Night shift work in a nutshell
At the start of the film:
"I see you already arrested the entire village"
"Not exactly"
At the end if the film:
"What are going to do? Just walk in and arrest the entire village?"
"Not exactly"
At somewhere in the beginning of the film as well, during the pub scene, they mentioned in a conversation
"Everybody and their mums are packing heat around here"
"Who?"
"Farmers"
"Who else?"
"Farmer's mums"
Then in this scene, we got this farmer calling for his mum with a gun for help even though we didn't see the farmer with a firearm, its still a good nod at the earlier conversation.
Daktur Pepper The farmer with a firearm was the Sea mine guy
Oohhhh! I never even caught that! Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright are GENIUS!!!
1:54 when you're home alone and you hear a sound
Frige: *makes ice*
Me: ...morning..
Make sure you load birdshot
This is my house, I need to defend it
The police officer strolls in on his horse, while everyone in the village stares at him, flabbergasted, full of hatred, and terrified by what he knows. All their facial expressions...alongside the music...ooh, it gives me chills!! This film is a fab comedy, but this is actually quite a tense scene.
He is like a blonde Prince Charming that stroll in on his horse ,too... But more angry. Very, very angry ...and with Cool sunglasses!😎
"And I looked, and beheld a pale horse; and his name that sat on it was Death."
@@typacsk And Hell followed with him……
It's because Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have watched a SHED LOAD of 80's action films so they know where it's at. They did this radio quiz where they had to guess the quote from an 80's film and they got em all right!
He should be
The moment this movie turned into the cliche action movies it parodies is just perfect.
The mysterious lone drifter gun slinger type is always badass
@@sumhung5942 Yep. It's even better if they use john woo gun-fu.
when the parody is actually better at being the very thing it ridicules than most examples of it.
Starts as a parody of British cop drama ends as a parody of American action films.
I know it's most likely unintentional but the banner above angel that says "Good luck Sandford!"" Made me cry with laughter.
They're gonna need every bit of that luck with angel on the scene!
It has been a long time so I don’t remember the name of the award for prettiest or most peaceful town (something like that) & it just happened to be the day the committee was coming to do the evaluation 😂
Oh my god, I never thought of it like that. You’ve just single handedly made this scene 10x better
I'm pretty sure it's a reference to the first part of the scene where the entire police department hold up a sign that say "Good luck Angel"
Knowing Edgar Wright, that was ABSOLUTELY intentional. 😅
there is nothing unintentional in this movie
1:31 - Boom Headshot. There is something amazing about seeing police constable Nicholas Angel jump kick an old lady right in the face. ;)
Its Sargent Angel but yeah
2:05 Nicholas Angel is literally an angel when you pause and see his numbers are 777.
the shotguns on his back are even poised like wings
An angel combating devils in disguise...
*_BLOODY F**KING BRILLIANT_*
+mikesitzler1106 Literally, "angel with a shotgun"!
The access code to the evidence locker is 999
@johnkelly90 the number on his uniform is 777
The part where he kicks the old lady in the face was the most satisfied reaction I've ever heard from an entire crowd in a movie theater.
Ooo I would have LOVED to see this in a crowded theater! What an experience!!!
I didn't know we had a mounted division.

When you see a man packing that much heat, you don’t ask questions.

Funniest part is that Angel just strolls in, walks past everyone and no one bats an eyelid even though he was presumed dead 😂
I lvoe how you can tell this big shootout is *exactly* what Skinner wanted lol
Epic weapon montage = rage mode activated
My favourite understated joke in this is that as Angel rides back into town it is physically impossible for every one of the NWA antagonists to be able to see Angel, but they all glare at him as if they have a clear and direct line of sight. You can even tell how they did the shot at 3:22, by making a shot of Angel riding on horseback semi-transparent and overlaying it on to a shot of Skinner looking through the window.
The most insane part is no one died during whole shootout
1:47 The constable at the front desk barely looks. He moved his eyes up from his book and then back down in on second. He’s doesn’t care! That is so hilarious hahaha
Some please make a gif of that one second bit!
3:19. Hey look. They found the new Romeo and Juliet
Took me about 10 re-watches to notice that
Had to put my screen on rotate to find this 👍😏
3:40 this is probably my favourite scene in any movie ever lmao

1:31 when I was watching hot fuzz on a Saturday my mom came in and laughed her ass off when she saw this scene

2:14 This scene always my favorite when Angel is armed to the teeth full of guns. lol
This movie was his audition for mission impossible movies
I watched this movie immediately after watching Shaun of the Dead. I can safely say that this is my favorite Police movie of all time!

In my opinion this is the worst scene in the film. An incredibly rare VW Jetta GTI, potentially written off 😢
Also bit of a dick move considering that was Danny's car, don't think he's getting a new one under a policeman's salary anytime soon
