Maybe this is an engagement troll but in the expression 'nut flush', 'nut' is a modifier of 'flush'. It just means the best flush, not the best hand overall. Similarly we have the 'nut straight' just meaning it is the best straight possible. Words often have different meanings in different contexts.
Or you can think of it as "the nuts, flush". The flush that is the nuts. Like Jonathon says, 2 different interpretations. Like having a set versus having trips. We all know what we're talking about, I guess.
@@YTSparty Sure, it could mean that, but it doesn't, because it wouldn't make any sense to refer to the 'nut flush' as the flush that's also the nuts, if it isn't. By process of elimination we realize people just mean it is the best flush. If somebody is a 'naturalized citizen', that doesn't just mean that they're a citizen and also natural. It means a particular type of citizen. If a woman were my common-law wife, it wouldn't mean that she's very common, very lawful, and my wife.
To me "nut flush" means its the highest flush possible, where as "the nuts" is the overall best hand possible so yeah Tesla had the "nut flush" but not "the nuts."
I think Polk's fold is even easier that that. The odds of hitting a flush are low, if he misses the flush, his hand is garbage. And any time there's a pair on the board, a full house, quads, are always in the mix. Like holding a 5-5, 4-4, and whatever the river may pair. with Qx.
3:17 Isn't the likelihood that you both have a flush very uncommon? Like a flush is already uncommon but two people having a flush at the same time is way less common. How is that not a cooler? You can still be of the opinion they should have folded but that is still definitely a cooler.
Chasing a flush on a paired board is like chasing a straight with a flush possibility already out there. You'd have to be an idiot to go all-in. If you're going to do it, just check to showdown, or call the value bets.
Yea, Tesla played long enough to know the Ace-hi nut flush is never the "Nuts" if the board is paired... Now it can be forgiven if it paired up on the river bc he is so fixated on the suits but it was already paired on the Turn :-///
@@kmdewhurst The nuts is a range. ANY hand you would play the same way as the stone nuts. If you're heads up PF and your opponent shoves and shows you TT, any higher pair is the nuts.
Do YOU still call it the nut flush draw, even when the board is paired? 🤔
It’s the best flush possible, so it is the “nut flush” in a way.
Shorter than saying “ace-high flush” and not ever meant to convey it is the nuts l.
No. I call it the Ace high flush draw. But once the board is paired. I won't pay much to chase.
Yes it is still the nut flush, different than the nuts.
"Flushed" draw as in the toilet....
Ofc. Its best possible flush. Its NUT FLUSH. Its not nuts that's why you draw to NUT FLUSH not to NUTS

I second this.

5:02 - (Doug) "Damn I'm so glad I folded"

Polk at 5:29 "yup, all makes sense to me" LOL
Board paired , at best check call
Most player learn at 1/2 that the nut flush is not the nuts on a paired board LMFAO

When you're repping the hand your opponent has.

If ur gonna chase a flush to check it down , just fold preflop
I think he bets $30,000.00
Where are these players in my games??? 🤣🤣
I say the nut flush draw is different from nut draw. He still hit the nut flush, but.
The A nut flush exists but isn't necessarily the actual nuts imo. I reckon tesla will bet / call.

You lost, bro.
The River- for you and me 🤣🤣🤣
That was the craziest thing ive seen in poker. Nik Airball was up 363k!
U have to stop playing for a while if you misread that with a pair on the board...
Bulldog didn't bet?
Tesla burns money and is an ass clown 🤡. Maybe I play too much PLO , but don't chase flushes on a paired board.
No, he’s great (for the skilled regs who take his cash). Don’t blame the fish, exploit them.
Value bet..."wrongfully" hope for raise!?!?
The nuts is quads, even though he had a Q.
If he holds a Q, quads is no longer the nuts. QJ is the nuts.
@@kmdewhurst The nuts is a range. ANY hand you would play the same way as the stone nuts. If you're heads up PF and your opponent shoves and shows you TT, any higher pair is the nuts.
All-in, Tesla is no bueno.
Tesla gonna rip it
This shit is fake.
I don't care what he does, he's a doofus for calling himself "tesla". NH bro....😅
he should change it to something bad ass like "tesla-g2c"
He should change his name to EDSEL.
Ace high flush is the correct terminology with a paired board.
"Flush to the ace," if you want to be consistent with the times you don't have the ace. E.g. "flush to the jack," etc.
