Thanks Ron for that time saving video ! Looking forward to your next video.
This works well in conjunction with USPS Informed Delivery, which emails you images of any mail addressed to you (not occupant junk mail.)
If Informed Delivery shows you're getting something important, go collect it when the alarm goes off, If not, the alarm will indicate you just received junk mail, which you can leave for the next time you happen to be out by the box, and reset the light.
That's awesome. Thanks Ron.
Nice fancy house!
Sometimes the mail carrier leaves the lid open risking that some items may fly out on windy days. So in addition, I'd like an indication that the box is not closed.
The latest that ever seen our mail delivered was 8:30 pm but a day after a postal holiday they could be behind or short handed that day and carriers probilly had an extra route but our mail usually is delivered between 11 am and 5 pm sometimes later during the month of December
Neat. I bought $10 NHFreight prox alarm, put xmtr in back of mailbox, receiver in house. Same principal, but without status light. My metal mailbox prevented signals so I had to add ~2ft wire to make antenna, snake it out drain hole. Soldered to xmtr circuit board (where coil wire was...their antenna).
I want one!

Where you get it?
Iv been having my mail stolen multiple times, all because the mail comes at different times and sometimes the crooks get to it first, so if you have this, u can get ur mail right away OR if a crook takes it, it will also alert you SOMEONE is opening your mailbox
can it work with SIM card so intimation can be send over sms or internet and we get information anywhere we r in the city?
what do you when the snow plow thrown snow all over your mailbox
Good video Ron
Do you have to be in the room at the time of the alert? What if you aren't?
I wondered the same thing. Hopefully, the mail light stays red until it is reset.
Isnt it mighty eady to remove the alert, tgen its worthless!!!
*hacker hacks it* ump i got mail!
That's what the flag is for, but I know of no mail carrier that bothers to put the flag up to let you know mail has been delivered.
The flag is for when you have mail to be picked up. You put the envelope that you want to mail (with stamps on it) in your mailbox and lift the flag. The mail person sees the flag is up and knows that you have mail to be picked up. They remove the mail and then lower the flag.
Welcome!!!!
📬You've got mail!!!
Files Done!
Good Bye!
Pretty cool but goes to show how lazy we’ve become
I agree with you that as a society we have become really lazy. Can't open the car door or roll up a window, or even tie our shoes these days but stopping what you're doing to go out and check the mailbox before the mail comes is like opening the front door when no one there. Pointless.
Lazy, maybe. But, think about it. Some people who are aging or disabled aren't able to run to the mailbox 3, 6, or 9 times because they thought they may have heard the mail truck go by. And, there are those foul weather days, when NO ONE really wants to tramp through the rain, snow, or wind to see if they got mail. So, yeah, good for lazy people, but not everyone is simply lazy.
go fix the lamp post its sparking
That’s what the flag is for on the side of the mailbox the mailman should raise it when he delivers mail
Interesting, our flag is raised to let the mailman there is outgoing mail!
Gotta agree with SZ here. The flag alerts the mailman that there is something to be picked up. Not visa versa. At least, that is how it’s done here in the states. Where you from, buddy?
I’m from northern Illinois I guess it depends upon how your postal Service wants to work it
What are you talkin about? Putting the red flag up indicate you have mail going out.
@@devonwhitley4958 Not in any place in the US I've lived. That would require the mailman to check every box. With the flag raised for outgoing they only have to look in those boxes. Many don't get mail every day.
Or how about lazy mail people learn to take 1 extra second to put up the mailbox flag if
people have one?
What's a laze?
Stupid iPad auto auto correct. Supposed to say lazy.
Putting the red flag up is to indicate to the mail carrier that you have outgoing mail in the Box.
@@devonwhitley4958 It is so weird that people keep saying that. In what part of the world do postal workers put the flags up? I have always lived in places where you put up the flag if you want the carrier to stop and pick your mail up. Maybe Trevor and Judy should try that sometime and see what happens!
It’s so stupid 😂😂
Signup for Informed Delivery, service offered by the Post Office, and you’ll receive an email every morning that you have a piece of mail in your mailbox. It also helps with tracking incoming packages.
Best of all, it works in any weather condition and let’s you know there is mail no matter where you are.
Yes, it does.....but it doesn't tell you when the mail is in your box. I get my Informed delivery email at 0800 and sometimes the mail isn't delivered until 1600. So the Informed Delivery is of no use for what Ron was saying.
@@sziltner That just tells you what mail is coming that day. It does not tell you when they put it in your mailbox.
And these videos are like 15-20 years old.
You are correct. Nowadays USPS sends out an email if you have any letter or package and it is called USPS Daily Digest email. It is a free service and you have to register with them. It indicates the picture of the letter so you know ahead what the letter is from or about. For the package, it indicates the tracking number. It is very accurate though. Once awhile, I got a letter from IRS and it scared me a lot before I read the letter.
This is probably good for an elderly or disabled person. Other people should just learn what time their mail is delivered, and walk their lazy ass to the mailbox to check for mail. Most of America's morbidly obese, I walk to the mailbox isn't going to hurt them.
Who gets mail anymore..
What! Don’t you want to go get your bills and your junk mail?? haha!
@@pearlllg bills are emailed automatically... You're right about junk mail!
@@superswingtrader5388 Yeah, we still have one or two places that want to send our bills in the mail. Mostly the city for their property taxes. Can’t wait to get that one!
@@pearlllg that's true sir
Why would you ever go outside to collect mail, such an american thing to do.
