They thought the tomato was poisonous because they had eaten it off of a pewter plate or other dish ware. Tomatoes actually can be toxic when eaten too green. Unless the tomato is a variant that's SUPPOSED to be green, it's a sign of too high of a compound called solanine, which can cause stomach issues. Consuming too much solanine can cause liver and gastrointestinal damage that can be fatal. Though also, green tomatoes taste bad enough that most people would be deterred from eating them lol.

@@aranox I disagree, but that may be because I read it as it came out. One chapter a week. When there's that much space between chapters, you really have a lot of time to think about what happened. Plus every chapter moves the plot forward in a meaningful way. It is definitely quick, but it doesn't have any bloat which I think is great
@@CaptainMack well yeah it doesn't have bloat but sometimes it just felt like suddenly a big event happened and the story moved on 2 big steps where it feels like something should have been in-between But I usually read a lot of manga In chunks where I sometimes only revisit after many chapters have been released instead of weekly I think the only Manga I read on release are one piece, kingdom, berserk, vland saga and recently added hirayasumi But yeah maybe it's cuz I read large portions of chainsaw man at once instead of weekly
this quickly became one of my favorite analysis videos for csm!! this is almost 2 hrs long and i honestly didn't think this would be such an easy watch its very well put together props to the editors and your script for making this so entertaining to watch i really love how you pointed out denji being in the suitted crowd with makima in that final battle!!! and i also love how u pay attention not only to fujimotos insane story and character arcs but also the way he lays out his manga and his art in general!!! i really love what fujimoto does with his work and with the recent one shots i can tell hes honing in on his craft and cant wait for part 2 and for the anime!! thank you for making this vid!!!!
Aki definitely didn't get possessed by the Gun Devil, cuz we see Makima beat its ass. So i'm of the opinion that Makima forced the Gun Devil to become a Fiend with Aki, since there is no way the Gun Devil had enough strength to reach Aki when he's literally strung up by chains directly connected to Makima, up on the Hill. So Aki-47 is a special Fiend that's 50% the Gun Devil under a trance created by Makima n 50% Aki, which is why he has a distorted sense of perception n seems to be in complete control of the Gun Devil, without it having any influence over him, like most other Fiends have towards their hosts.
I didn’t see makima as the control devil coming. Looking back on it it makes perfect sense, but I had actually deduced with my iq of 1 that she might be the gun devil herself, until she absolutely wasn’t and I had no clue what the reveal would be. Great story
You are a very good story teller my dude (and fujimoto is too) because I heard of how good Chainsaw man is, watched a video or two, helped with a Group cosplay photoshoot...But only with your video, I realised how incredibly tragic this whole thing is. Aki heard he was going to be killed by Denji...and he got possessed by the demon that killed his entire family. like oh my fuck he lost his first family, gained another one, got killed, ressurrected as a corpse and killed again by his basically idiotic younger brother...Damn fuck, that hits me right in the feels
I personally would like denji and power to be together I think it's a perfect match of what both of his previous crushes were. Someone who is powerful like him, and also someone who could love him unconditionally
I unironically would love hearing you talk for 12 hours, your ideas and explanation are so clearly presented and your memes are on point, it would honestly be a joy to watch
29:05 -SPOILERS- I always understood that as her essentially controlling the body of the person who's name is said by the "sacrifice", the inmates she controls to say the names. Since she's the control devil, in my mind I interpreted that scene as her forming a contract with the inmates that in exchange for their life she can control the name of the person they say. Then as we see with her hands, when she twists them, so do the Yakuzas bodies, essentially crushing them from the inside
@@CaptainMack theres a small theory that it could be the Punishment Devil, hence Kurose and Tendo were blindfolded in that scene as well, so that they didn’t see Makima using their Devil. Also Tendo wanted to say something about Makima to Subaru in the car, just before they get ambushed by the american brothers, maybe it was about that.
The sheer complexity of ways in which Makima defeated herself is astounding. You mentioned a bunch of great elements of that, but my personal favorite was the lesson on intimacy. Denji got the drop on Makima because she taught him to soak in every detail of the person you love - and was able to "become one" with her because she made him love her in the first place.
Nice edit with the Darkness Devil bit, particularly enjoyed the Sekiro OST. I have read complete horror mangas that didn't scare me nearly as much as the Darkness Devil chapter
I never really comment on UA-cam videos but I just had to say this is probably the best breakdown or analysis I’ve watched. The editing and the flow of the video seriously made it felt like 15 minutes. Great work dude, you earned another subscriber
There's a fun little detail in the last pannel of Kishebe's training. Denji's shoes + pant legs are torn up while the rest of his a d powers clothes are intact indicating that, it's during that training that he figured out the leg trick.
I never read the manga and I knew the moment I saw him in the anime that, deep down, he’s a good kid He didn’t need to save a demon, but he did He didn’t need to save people in the Bat Devil’s fight but he did, telling them to run away to snap out of their frozen state It’s really disheartening how media literacy is so dead that people just reduce him to a pervert who wants to touch boobs and nothing else
Hey, your editing and overall presentation are really good, I was very surprised to find out you weren't a really big channel that I haven't just seen yet!
phenomenal video! csm is my favorite manga, and one of my favorite pieces of media ever, and i think you really did it justice. as you pointed out, every single aspect of it is so. perfectly. executed. i’m a writer myself, and this story really taught me a lot about how to create believable, 3d characters with complex relationships, as well as the importance of subtle storytelling. i could go on about the beauty of csm’s art, plot, humor, messages, characters, symbolism, EVERYTHING forever.
This has to be one of the most profesionaly well done and underrated documentary of a manga i've ever seen. Still suprised that you only have 7k subs like wtf thats a crime
There's another youtuber that talked about Makima powers/contracts fail points I think it was love. The scene I remember them talking about was how she was having trouble controlling Aki/Angel because they were forming a connection, and how getting to one got her both. But yeah, good shit
I also love how csm uses dogs to signify obedience and cats to signify independence. Makima wanted denji to be her dog and be subservient to her, however power on the other hand was always a wild card. That’s why I think when makima demanded power to hand over denji she didn’t comply and ran away with him, it also makes sense how powers blood was used to defeat makima in the end.
That's an interesting way to interpetate it. But I do belive Power didn't hand over Denji because Makima said for her to put down chainsaw man, but Power was trying to save Denji, not pochita. But the simbolism of cats and dogs it's an interesting observation
Bummed that I just spoiled this series for myself, but it also got me incredibly interested in the anime. Fantastic video, thanks for the effort u put into it!!
I find it hard to focus, sit down and watch a longer videos.. But that was Amazing! I love chainsaw man so i had soo much fun watching it to the end. Keep up the good work!!1
0:56 a disproportionate aki standing their like he's lost at a convention with heavy metal music playing in the background will never not be peak comedy to me
Makima also it makes perfect sense to be the Control Devil. Stating the same allows her to turn the subject into a sort of "effigy," of which she can control the fate of her opponent through.
Great video watched the whole thing through, and I don't think I found anything you said disagreeable. Very well edited, humorous, and thought-out video. I give it a rating of 11 Kobeni's Cars/10 Powers for Presidents. :D

So this is embarrassing to admit but after watching the video it took me a few days to try and word just how good this video is. When I clicked on it I thought that I would watch about 30 minutes of it before clicking off but instead I sat through the whole thing in one sitting Not only that but it singlehanded brought me back into this series and made me gain a new understanding of it. Even after reading this manga 3 to 4 times from start to finish (even the colored version), there were still some things that you pointed out that I've NEVER noticed ultill now. Every video I see about Chainsaw Man, did as good as you did right now (like Scamboli Reviews or Mother's Basement) just makes me more excited not only for the anime or part 2 of the manga, but for EVERYTHING that Tatsuki Fujimoto comes up with. Thank you for this long ass review and I hope seeing more things related to Tatsuki Fujimoto, manga or pretty much anything in general that you talk about. You gained a subscription.

I really forgot why I love this story so much, thank you Also some words from artist: Fujimoto is a god of manga. Its phenomenal how he uses sound effects to draw the battle, contrast of black and white, composition, guts, hands faces, emotional expressions are on next level

You just got a new sub and a fan. I hope you make a video of your favorite parts of this manga as we wait for Part 2!!
(Ain't fully watched the video just yet so I'll post what's been on my mind lately regarding Fujimoto) After reading Chainsaw Man, Sayonara Eri, Look Back and Fire Punch (read Fire Punch in a single evening from like 2 AM to 7 AM and cried like a lil bitch after), I have the firm, but controversial belief that Fujimoto is the equivalent of our generation's Kentaro Miura, albeit I don't think he's there just yet. I don't believe any of Fujimoto's current work could even compare to Berserk, but I believe that he has the potential somewhere down the line to rival it. They both have incredibly unique art styles, with every panel Miura created looking like a timeless art piece, while Fujimoto's art looks simultaneously rough, raw and unedited, yet astonishingly beautiful - not to mention the facial/character expressions drawn by Fujimoto being absolutely incredible. I'm not sure how else to describe it rather than a feeling that Fujimoto has an incredible amount of untapped potential, and that one day something could come from him that even hardcore Berserk fans such as myself would consider on par. I almost got smacked to shit for proposing this to a friend of mine, but I managed to convince him. I mostly got this belief from reading Fire Punch and even a few of his older one shots, while Chainsaw Man is amazing, I feel like Fire Punch carried a lot more of Fujimoto's personality, and even covered a few topics that I hadn't fully seen done before in manga (namely Togata's character as a whole, resonating a bit too closely with that, and simultaneously astonished with how well represented he was) and while also relatively unrefined, in a few years time I think a more seasoned Fujimoto could pull it off. In my opinon, Fujimoto was proved more than enough that he can be regarded as Miura's spiritual successor, it's just a matter of waiting.

@@aranox I disagree, but that may be because I read it as it came out. One chapter a week. When there's that much space between chapters, you really have a lot of time to think about what happened. Plus every chapter moves the plot forward in a meaningful way. It is definitely quick, but it doesn't have any bloat which I think is great
@@CaptainMack well yeah it doesn't have bloat but sometimes it just felt like suddenly a big event happened and the story moved on 2 big steps where it feels like something should have been in-between
But I usually read a lot of manga In chunks where I sometimes only revisit after many chapters have been released instead of weekly
I think the only Manga I read on release are one piece, kingdom, berserk, vland saga and recently added hirayasumi
But yeah maybe it's cuz I read large portions of chainsaw man at once instead of weekly
@@aranox I definitely get what you're saying, it just didn't bother me I guess. I see you're a man of culture though, very good taste in manga
this quickly became one of my favorite analysis videos for csm!! this is almost 2 hrs long and i honestly didn't think this would be such an easy watch its very well put together props to the editors and your script for making this so entertaining to watch i really love how you pointed out denji being in the suitted crowd with makima in that final battle!!! and i also love how u pay attention not only to fujimotos insane story and character arcs but also the way he lays out his manga and his art in general!!! i really love what fujimoto does with his work and with the recent one shots i can tell hes honing in on his craft and cant wait for part 2 and for the anime!! thank you for making this vid!!!!
Plot twist: I'm the editor too 😎😎😎. Lol thank you I'm really happy you liked the video
Nice profile pic
@@5001Fergies my man's wrote a essay paragraph and that's all you gotta say... but seriously nice pfp
@@5001Fergies schizo lmao. But nice para
41:28 can we just appreciate the man's epic dance moves?
The bomb arc is by far my favorite, the fable of the country mouse really stuck with me, Reze is a flawless character imo
I was so surprised when I saw that this video didn’t have like a million views… because it really deserves it
I also want a happy meal if you're taking requests
It’s also like 2 hours long tho haha having said that I did watch the whole thing without speeding it up :)
Makima killing Aki and Power is probably the most hatred I've felt for a fictional character in my life
imo mahito got her beat, plus makimas kinda ho
@@Rip-Tyro mahito is kind of hot too man

One of my favourite video ever.
it's not only a readtrough, but a deep analysis of an almost 100 chapters story.
Truly impressive.
Thank you my dude
I unironically would love hearing you talk for 12 hours, your ideas and explanation are so clearly presented and your memes are on point, it would honestly be a joy to watch
Haha it may happen one day, thank you
This is by far the best analysis of Chainsaw Man I have ever seen. Thank you, and you have earned yourself a new subscriber.
No thank you! Lol I'm glad you liked it
29:05
-SPOILERS-
I always understood that as her essentially controlling the body of the person who's name is said by the "sacrifice", the inmates she controls to say the names. Since she's the control devil, in my mind I interpreted that scene as her forming a contract with the inmates that in exchange for their life she can control the name of the person they say. Then as we see with her hands, when she twists them, so do the Yakuzas bodies, essentially crushing them from the inside
That's an interesting theory. I haven't ever figured out how it works so you're more on track than me lol
@@andod881 ur spittin
Nah she gained control of Death Note Devil and used its ability
The sheer complexity of ways in which Makima defeated herself is astounding. You mentioned a bunch of great elements of that, but my personal favorite was the lesson on intimacy. Denji got the drop on Makima because she taught him to soak in every detail of the person you love - and was able to "become one" with her because she made him love her in the first place.
Nice edit with the Darkness Devil bit, particularly enjoyed the Sekiro OST. I have read complete horror mangas that didn't scare me nearly as much as the Darkness Devil chapter
Are you chainsaw man because you are denji, or are you denji because your chainsaw man
Isn't that what is told to Gojo? Mmm
Denji probably made the Chainsaw with the blood powers Power had.... cuz he used Power's blood...
7 months later, this has to be my favorite Chainsaw Man analysis. Amazing work dude. Happy new years!
I'm glad you like it so much, thanks! Happy new years to you too
I never really comment on UA-cam videos but I just had to say this is probably the best breakdown or analysis I’ve watched. The editing and the flow of the video seriously made it felt like 15 minutes. Great work dude, you earned another subscriber
Hell yeah thanks man I'm glad you liked it
This video has made me feel more joy and pain than any others piece of media ever.
Praise be to Beam.
This series is so good, I am so happy that the adaptation will be coming out this year
There's a fun little detail in the last pannel of Kishebe's training.
Denji's shoes + pant legs are torn up while the rest of his a d powers clothes are intact indicating that, it's during that training that he figured out the leg trick.
I never read the manga and I knew the moment I saw him in the anime that, deep down, he’s a good kid
He didn’t need to save a demon, but he did
He didn’t need to save people in the Bat Devil’s fight but he did, telling them to run away to snap out of their frozen state
It’s really disheartening how media literacy is so dead that people just reduce him to a pervert who wants to touch boobs and nothing else
Some people take everything at face value and can't be bothered to read between the lines
Hey, your editing and overall presentation are really good, I was very surprised to find out you weren't a really big channel that I haven't just seen yet!
Nah I'm a tiny shiny fish in a big stinky ocean my guy. Lol thank you
Yesss more CSM content. I absolutely love this series. It's so fucking good. Chainsaw Man is definitely my most favourite shonen manga. Great vid btw.
phenomenal video! csm is my favorite manga, and one of my favorite pieces of media ever, and i think you really did it justice. as you pointed out, every single aspect of it is so. perfectly. executed. i’m a writer myself, and this story really taught me a lot about how to create believable, 3d characters with complex relationships, as well as the importance of subtle storytelling. i could go on about the beauty of csm’s art, plot, humor, messages, characters, symbolism, EVERYTHING forever.
Chainsaw Man is an incredible example of how important solid writing is even in a visual medium like manga. I love it
This has to be one of the most profesionaly well done and underrated documentary of a manga i've ever seen.
Still suprised that you only have 7k subs like wtf thats a crime
There's another youtuber that talked about Makima powers/contracts fail points
I think it was love.
Fantastic video, thanks for the effort u put into it!!
the level of quality that went into this video is really high end, hope you get more subs, seriously.
You're a legend my friend thank you for all your comments and your time
Goodbye Eri and Look Back are insane. How can one artist be this good in storytelling.
I just finished reading part 1 and god damn what a masterpiece
Thnks for hyping me even more for the upcoming sequel, absolutely wonderful work that you have created, from the deepest parts of my heart, thanks.
How dare you thank me. Thank you for saying such nice words
I love watching your videos because i get to see your incredibly soft hair bounce around whenever you move your head

22:21 man that shit was way too funny i didnt expect that looool. You're underrated af, keep up the good work man
0:56 a disproportionate aki standing their like he's lost at a convention with heavy metal music playing in the background will never not be peak comedy to me
You have the longest Chainsaw Man video of all time so far bro, congrats.
Makima also it makes perfect sense to be the Control Devil. Stating the same allows her to turn the subject into a sort of "effigy," of which she can control the fate of her opponent through.
Rewatching this masterpiece while waiting for the first episode to come out in a few hours 🍿
Great video watched the whole thing through, and I don't think I found anything you said disagreeable. Very well edited, humorous, and thought-out video. I give it a rating of 11 Kobeni's Cars/10 Powers for Presidents. :D
Yo new rating system just dropped?? Kinda pog lmao
Love how when talking about disappointments, cyberpunk 2077 appears like a jump scare
Hi, I discovered Chainsaw man thanks to you before it blew up and the anime was announced. I will never forget this video
sometimes i need someone to explain to me what i read or watched. I'm a dummy. You did such a good job with this man. I felt like I was experiencing this manga for the first time again. Like I literally cried when denji killed aki AGAIN even I knew it was coming. All the editing and sound effects made this sooo fucking good
Thank you lol I'm really glad it worked so well for you
loved this video, I would love to know what you think about where the story's going right now. And I hope you make a part 2 of this
So this is embarrassing to admit but after watching the video it took me a few days to try and word just how good this video is. When I clicked on it I thought that I would watch about 30 minutes of it before clicking off but instead I sat through the whole thing in one sitting
Not only that but it singlehanded brought me back into this series and made me gain a new understanding of it. I knew there was something that the series was saying but didn’t really know what it was. This is an amazing video and I hope you’re proud of it
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw you uploaded a new video, at nearly 2 hours as well.
I've never read chainsaw man, so I spoiled a lot from this video, while also finding a new manga in my top 5. Mack, you are a gem for content and I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next.
This video essay is too damn good to not have more recognition. Gonna send this to everyone I know that's finished csm- genuinely amazing work!!!

I'll like to take a moment and say,"Sir, you're amazing. The entire video is a masterpiece.Thank you. for making this."

Gotta say, a lot a video essays get there points across just as well as yours; but I haven't seen many with this level of presentation! The music and editing around the Darkness Devil's introduction made it even scarier than it was in the manga!
Found you from the Berserk video and literally reread this today 😂 Was looking for a video that goes in depth cause personally I don’t see what everyone else does so I look forward to this. Plus love these hour long vids! Keep them coming sir
I look forward to hearing what you think!
Captain Mack Great Video mate! That Hitler bit had me dying 😂went to see Doctor Strange on Shrooms yesterday so I was tripping balls and need to collect myself. Imma come back and give this a full review but you definitely gave me alot to think about with Denji. Hoping you do more breakdowns cause the characters are genuinely cool
Using "Stranger I Remain" for Power's comeback is actually so based and good. The lyrics actually fit so well lol
dude the editing, the vibe and flow of the video was honestly amazing !
I love chainsaw man so much. It's too complicated to explain why or how much I like the story, the characters, and the art. I'm just glad i found your channel through this video, and all the things you appreciate about the story I do as well!
Hell yeah that's awesome
Man, if you made a 12 hours long video just talking about Chainsaw Man, the same way you did right now in close to 2 hours, I would absolutely watch it from start to end gratefully that someone spent so much time to review one of the best manga ever written or even one of the best STORIES ever written.
I'm glad you liked it haha. I really could've droned on for longer there's so much to love about this series
@@CaptainMack and now we get to talk about the second of the 4 horsemen because control was a slight variation of the conquest horseman and now we have war can't wait till we meet the primal devil death who is also a horseman meaning that it has the power that both those I would say titles but I think positions is more accurate anyway the power of both and knowing fujimoto that scares me and we haven't even seen death
Man I thought this was from a huge UA-camr until I went to sub and saw the count. You're a god at video essays, and i know you're going to blow up big one day
Thanks dawg that means a lot
The best chainsaw man video on all of UA-cam, this will literally explode in views when the anime comes out
What an amazing video. As someone who has re read chainsaw man countless times, you’ve somehow found a way to put together something that made me feel like I was reading the manga for the first time all over again. You deserve all the subscribers in the world man, the amount of effort required to make an almost 2 hour video essay is just unfathomable to me. Props my man 🫡
Thank you so much, it makes me really glad to hear that 😁
Bro I have already read this comic twice but here I am watching your full video. You're really a great story teller bro keep up your excellent work!
No joke the entire fight between denji and aki legit almost made me cry
I really forgot why I love this story so much, thank you
Also some words from artist:
Fujimoto is a god of manga.
Its phenomenal how he uses sound effects to draw the battle, contrast of black and white, composition, guts, hands faces, emotional expressions are on next level
Off topic (or on topic) but chainsawman's intro song is literally the best anime songs in my opinion. It fking slaps so hard and i genuinely listen to it whereas I usually skip other anime intros.
That teaser got me to read the entirety of the manga it was hands down one of my favorites. Looking forward to the anime, the 2nd arc, and to Denji's first kiss animated!

You did a really good tribute to this Part 1 of Chainsaw Man, you made me relive a lot of feelings i had reading this manga, you made me tear up too.

By this video alone I can tell you know your stuff and know exactly how to entertain. It was funny, it was intriguing, but most importantly, it was entertaining and professional. You just got a new sub and a fan. I hope you make a video of your favorite parts of this manga as we wait for Part 2!!
I love how this video showed up on my recommendations the day before Part 2's release.
When Chainsaw Man ripped through the page to the tune of A stranger I remain, I knew I had something special on my hands. Thanks for this video Mack
The biggest giveaway that Makima is a devil isnt even subtle in the slightest but is also something most ppl overlook; her eyes
(Ain't fully watched the video just yet so I'll post what's been on my mind lately regarding Fujimoto)
After reading Chainsaw Man, Sayonara Eri, Look Back and Fire Punch (read Fire Punch in a single evening from like 2 AM to 7 AM and cried like a lil bitch after), I have the firm, but controversial belief that Fujimoto is the equivalent of our generation's Kentaro Miura, albeit I don't think he's there just yet.
I hadn't really thought of it but I absolutely agree. No arguments here
@@liliasekelli835 ???
Fire Punch was wonderful, I had to stop reading and take a break after the sad chapter with Togata
