If I were to put it at a scale of 1 - 10 with 10 being the best I would give it a '6'. The best part about it is the tires. Nothing like rubber foam filled tires for your spreader. Those plastic tires that some spreaders have do not give you stability and the fertilizer gets caught on the inside of the wheel. The biggest problem this scotts spreader is the edge guard stopped working. Seems as though that is a common thing for this spreader. So for the $125 price and if you are just a regular homeowner who actually uses scotts products, this is fine, just expect that the edge guard will stop working fairly quickly. If you get in depth with the lawn like I do, I would go a different route.
Thank you! Great instructions, I thought mine was broken till you demonstrated so clearly with emphasis on single side wheel with pin. You are the best!😇👍
Thanks for watching! Also, for a home owner who just wants to double up their game a little, this works out nice because of 2 reasons, 1- the price is better than most and 2- because scott's has basically saturated the market with product, most measurements are based on their stuff. if you decided to get a spreader in the $200 plus range, the settings on most would have to be calculated in some way.
How do you like this spreader

thank you. I appreciate it.
The pin for the wheel is only on one side so the other wheel can turn faster or slower when going around corners or turning.
JonathanDeanna Fritz good to know. Thanks man.
Thanks for the vid. My thought too with more moving parts. Edge guard is nice.

The design team at Scotts got together and said... Hey let's pimp a lawn spreader. And that's how the Elite was born. 😎
lol
Have you seen the Anderson Scott’s dual impeller spreader? It’s 1200$.
Thanks for the help. You’re is better than the Scotts instructions
Glad to help. Thank you.
Do you have Ewing Irrigation near you? They have nice stainless steel spreaders at decent prices….
I haven't heard of them but I see they have stainless steel spreaders. I wonder if that would be heavy?
@@lawnjenkins I am really interested in the 50 pound they have…. I hope the big tires make it a breeze…. Your vids are always enjoyable…. Thanks…
@@thomashanan1996 Thanks man. This lawn/yard hobby is just so relaxing.
Outstanding instructional video. Keep up the great work. Jim, Charlotte, NC.
Thanks man. I appreciate it
How to set up edge guard wire in it. I bought one secondhand and wire to connect edge guard is out.
many people have had problems with the edge guard. Mine recently broke as well.
Thanks for posting this. I've been looking for a video since they released this spreader. What do you think about it after using it?
CD Andrews its "okay" I think it spreads okay but it doesn't hold as much product I would have thought.
What kind of material did you put into the hopper to spread on your lawn and what does it do ???? Where can I buy it ???
I put all types of fertilizers. I even did sand at the end of the year.
Thank you!
NP. thank you....
Cool video!
Thanks! it's still probably the best one a homeown can get with an average lawn 'for the price'.
Nice review . Thanks
Thank you. It's still working okay.
You mention MILO but the bag says wal-mart. do they sell milo in plain bags too? Nice video btw!
Yes. I ordered it online from Walmart. So to get to the milo you had to cut open the walmart bag then cut open the mili bag.
@@lawnjenkins Ok sir thanks for the reply!
@@troyhough periodically you will see it at walmart cheaper with free shipping than home depot
Thanks for this was so confused
:-) anytime.,.,
Thank you for posting the video
takamex thank you for watching.
How is it performing now
it's still 'good'. it is not for a ton of use though. If you us this 5 or 6 times a year it will last you 10 years.
@@lawnjenkins do you have a conversation chart for the elite if I'm using Lesco fertilizer?
@@cpenny4real sorry, I do not.

Mine is same no pin
I want to upgrade but to upgrade properly I will at minimum $100 more than the Scott's.
Only one side will have a pin being the drive wheel, the other wheel is free.
