It was waived. The AG/DOJ have acknowledged it. Their excuse isn’t privilege, the argument coming out of them now is that they claim to be unable to provide them because they are afraid someone will steal them and make deep fakes out of them. Literally what they just came out and said last week, has nothing to do with privilege at all. The privilege aspect comes in because that’s what Jerry here can say. He has no other argument. Even if he is wrong, which he is, this is his attempt to slow down or stop the process of going after a member of this admin.

Bingo! The President can exert executive privilege over documents & other communications which are under the control of the White House. Biden gave an interview voluntarily to the DOJ, these communications are under the control of the DOJ and the Atty General who has no executive privilege.

Withholding evidence of a crime is a felony.
Once the transcripts were forwarded, Privilege is gone.
The point is that if the President wants to exert executive privilege over the recording but not the 'transcript', then that necessarily means the transcript is NOT a replica of the interview, but a 'redacted' version, so to speak, meaning the interview contains elements the President doesn't want the public to hear.
Excellent point! And the reverse logic... If the transcript were an identical representation of the recording, there would be no reason to withhold the recording under the guise of executive privilege, as it would not contain anything not already released. So, they can't have it both ways.
Executive privilege should have been ordered the day that those tapes were made it's too late now Nadler that's the point

Why is it that Congress is the only part of government from city councils to the federal level that do not have term limits? Power corrupts but absolute power corrupts absolutely. Congress needs term limits but the ones who vote on having term limits is Congress themselves, how about we put it on the ballot and let the American people vote on it.

The issue was already resolved in 1973, the SCOTUS ruled that if a transcript was released Presidents can not claim executive privilege over video or audio tapes.

Garland asserts executive privilege. However, he must have missed the law school class regarding "waiver". The privilege, if any existed, was waived when the transcript was provided to Congress. This is just a delay tactic, so the public can't see that video before the election.
