That does not normalize rule over the majority by a depraved minority.
If it were a pure democracy, then it would be mob rule and things would certainly get done. Would definitely suck if you were on the minority side of any issue, because you'd get steamrolled by the majority, "the mob", every time.

Congress doesn't have the capacity to create a law for every detail and situation. So they write a law such as "Companies can't dump their waste in the river" and so the epa makes rules to manage the details, to define what constitutes waste, to determine the appropriate way to handle waste, safe places to dump, etc. And until now those details have been written based on the input of people who actually study the environment, but now they will be decided by judges who are NOT subject matter experts.

The far right never gives up on their cherry picks. Yes, rules ARE designed under auspices of laws, and it is impossible to have government micro-manage by convening to make all rules.
For example, there simply is no time or expertise for Reps to meet to determine the amount of lead in water. Can you imagine tasking a far rightist who owns a polluting businesses to help determine EPA rules?
That power belongs to the States and not some unelected Federal Government bureaucrat with radical ideologies that cost us trillions of dollars and do nothing beneficial.

Regan is such a smart ass
The EPA could be abolished tomorrow.
He's supposed to be an "expert"? 🤣
1. 2 trillion dollars in regulatory costs? Let's assume that number is correct. If Congress tells the EPA to clean up the environment (in some general way), then the EPA may well end up imposing such costs in order to clean up the environment. If the costs are unreasonable, it may be because Congress misdirected the EPA, telling it to do something it shouldn't. No one ever thinks of that.
sound like they should not received 50 million dollar in their budget.
Congress wrote the law that enacted the epa to protect the environment and health . Let’s not forget that the fossil fuel industry receives $8,000,000 a minute in subsidies.
NO THE EPA IS NOT IN ANYWAYS ASSIGNED HEALTH LMAO... GET THESE PEOPLE OUT .... SADNESS
The various "departments" make rules which have the same weight and penalties of LAWS. Only Congress can make laws. These departments were formed to enforce THOSE laws, not make new laws, if if they spell those laws R-U-L-E.

This guy is an awesome filibusterer. The EPA is an incredibly destructive machine.
His A vs B binary choice is flawed because he refers to the experts in the agency as unelected bureaucrats. So, phrasing the A or B question properly, who should have control: the experts within the agency or the elected congress-people who have little or no knowledge of the agencies' operations?
And the Constitutional answer is the Congress.
this is problem bureaucrats think they make laws and enforce them. Enough defund these clowns
Congress makes the laws, the executive branch enforces them, the EPA is a function of the executive branch. Their rules are designed to enforce the laws since the laws will be vague like "companies can't dump waste in the rivers" so it's the EPA's job to rule on all the different details such as what constitutes waste, where IS a safe place to dump waste, etc. Congress doesn't have the capacity to rule on every specific detail needed to enforce their own laws.

um.. the environment has nothing to do with health?
soo.. pollution.... who takes care of that... the CDC or the EPA?
or do we just trust the free market capitalists to a handshake agreement not to pollute?
the answer is the EPA...
EPA has authority under the law to establish regulation. Additionally, I dont think a football bro with a degree in degree in government and international relations to is an expert in enviomental protection.

You are the EPA ifit doesn’t have to do with the dirt the birds or the fish you don’t fund it
The 1.2 trillion dollars in regulatory costs may be over a 10 year period or some other such thing. Anti-regulation lawmakers love to play with such numbers. But what they really love to do is calculate the economic costs of regulating while excluding the economic benefits of regulating, which are, admittedly, harder to quantify, but are just as real. If a formerly polluted lake becomes swimmable and fishable thanks to EPA regs, that provides a boost to the local economy. Multiply that by the number of such formerly polluted lakes nationwide. Don't pretend otherwise. Same with cleaner air leading to less fewer lung diseases. Same with fewer carcinogens in the environment, thanks to EPA regs. Throw in the economic effects of these changes, if you want a true cost accounting.
