Aman G. No they mean how toby is the repulsive and unliked character of the office US, he’s the “Toby” or disliked character of this version of the office
Uk’s humour is more dark. We laugh at the awkwardness of the situation and the ‘loser’ embarrass themselves. We have a very self deprecating sense of humour.
In the UK series, David Brent is actually a huge asshole who doesn't improve while Michael Scott can be a real asshole a lot of times, but is mostly just a weird, pathethic man who is likeable at times.

I love when Jan calls him pathetic when she puts the speaking clock on speaker and he immediately answers "is it?" The insecurity and thin skin mixed with arrogance and self absorbtion.
I agree. The subtlety of his acting is excellent. When he begs for his job in the second season, his acting was that good I really felt for Brent despite the fact that he had to coming due to the way he behaved as boss. Felt like he deserved a second (or third or fourth) chance given the emotional depth delivered in that brief moment of self realisation of pleading and remorse.

Lucy Davis' acting is so good. A lot of the time she has to put across exactly what shes thinking / feeling with just facial expressions and she does an outstanding job of it 👌
Andrei Despinoiu that’s not the joke. The joke is more the cringe factor. “Wily-nily” means carefree. He’s saying I won’t have her vagina discussed openly and carefree. However the us office, though not as good, is still funny because it has uncomfortable moments

Office US: Great sitcom
Yeah so you do realize the UK office came out 4 years before the US office?
@@J.C.PicturesOfficial Yeah, I'm from the UK so I know.
Gaz breaking down and Dave trying to be nice at 9:21 always gets to me.
He was never a bad guy, just insecure.
Still funny how he's basically the self insert of Steve Merchant, whether or not Steve knows it.
Im so excited to watch this once im done with The Office US... British shows are always gold ✨💞💞💞💞
3:31 never noticed until now that Gareth actually checks his watch against the speaking clock
Perfect this kind of stuff will never be repeated youngster’s today don’t have a single cool series or sitcom worth watching
yeah and from behind because your breath stinks of...that bit had me in tears
