🌻🌻 hi Jill just having a bad day my dad just paased away! Hope your diet goes well all the best! 🌻
I’m so sorry to hear that. Praying for you and your family. 🙏🏻
Jill. I used intermittent fasting and a high protein, low carb diet and lost 70 pounds. I ate a lot of eggs and chicken and vegetables. It’s definitely a journey.
Did you let yourself have any cheat foods?
@@MommyEtc. I did a few times. I had to have a knee replacement and my Dr wouldn’t do the surgery until I lost the weight. I was pretty strict with myself because I was in a lot of pain.
A low carb diet really sucks. If you can’t realistically follow a diet for the rest of your life it’s probably not a good idea.
My nutritionist told me fasting doesn’t mean dropping a meal. Eat your breakfast when you break your fast at non (try to do with with protein) the have lunch and dinner all before 6pm. Your meals will be smaller because you won’t feel hungry.
If you don’t eat enough calories your body goes into starvation mode and instead of burning fat it holds onto the fat! This might be why you didn’t see a loss on the scale. Just some thoughts 🙃🌻
Thanks for the tips! That makes sense. Squeezing 3 meals into 6 hours would probably make the last two meals smaller than normal.
With dieting I have found that just cutting my portions in half is what helped me. Losing the can’t have this or that mindset is best. I have lost 70 pounds by just eating everything I want just less. Every time I tried depriving myself of certain foods I was more inclined to binge because I would get so desperate to satisfy a craving. All those fad diets such as keto never worked for me. They were way too hard to stick too especially with kids who eat all kinds of things. I grew tired of making myself a separate meal from everyone else in the house. So my advice is just cut back and try to move around more if you haven’t already. It’s a slow process but worth it. Good luck!!
Hi Jill, I decided last fall to do a budget. My first ever. Wow I was shocked at how much we (just me and my hubby) spent out eating 3 times a week. Just at one restaurant for the month of October we spent $600. That same month we spent $225 at Starbucks. That doesn’t count any other fast food or restaurant we ate at on weekends. In total just for eating out and our fav coffees we had spent $1286 the month of October. Not counting the cash tips we gave to our server each time. Our weekly food bill at Publix is $480 and Sam’s about $265 every other week. I felt like we spent way more on eating out, groceries and paper products for our home. I admit I have a bad addiction to Amazon. I was spending around $900 a month on many items we didn’t need or end up keeping. I never return things. I give them to a neighbor or donate them locally. By the end of November 2023 I was so excited to do the monthly budget. We saved $1375 in the month of November. December was a little less saved because of Christmas. January 2024 we did much better saving close to $1890. I honestly do not know how families afford shopping. We are older, I am retired and my hubby still works full time. He is retiring the end if this year. My plan is to see how much I can save in 2024. Random purchases and over spending have become so costly in the last 3 years. Here’s to budgeting and saving what we can when we can.
How are the kids? I would love it if you did an update on them, how home schooling is going? How old is Madison now. I know she never liked being on camera, would be nice to have her and the kids on again.
Good luck on the weight loss and fasting. Have a Good Friday and a great weekend ahead.
Interesting, thanks for sharing! Thats crazy how much it was for eating out! Realizing it and saving so much must have felt good though. I haven’t bought anything on Amazon in months now unless it was needed…just have to get Greg to do the same 😅.
Kids are doing well! Homeschooling is going a bit better these days, I think I’m finally learning that relaxing about it makes life better for everyone lol.
For my home daycare I use the Cloud Island or Pillowfort kids bowls and plates from Target. The Pillowfort ones are $3 for 6. The Cloud Island are $3.99 for 3 but they are thicker than the other brand.
Jill, I’m going on my second year of intermittent fasting and I’ve lost about 47 pounds. I’ve kept it off and I am in touch with my doctor about what I’ve been doing. I have no thyroid so this is the first time I’ve actually lost weight successfully in the right way and she wants me to start walking , because I have no metabolism more for my health than anything. I do good by not eating after around five or six depending on our dinner and then I will have a maybe a little snack once in a while, but most the time I don’t eat anything until the next day at 12 PM and then I eat light. I have been eaten smaller portions, and so far I don’t get hungry, I’ve noticed that it’s changed the way that my appetite is. But I’m not raising children anymore. I have grandchildren but I’m not having children in home all day like I used to so that does make a difference Jill. I’m definitely doing it for a health journey. I’m an older lady and I’ve always taken care of myself but I’m just making sure I’m doing all that I can. It was great seeing a video from you, Jill. God bless your sweet family and have a blessed weekend…….🍃💗🍃
That’s awesome progress, good for you!! 🤍
Hi Jill
To lose weight you have to eat breakfast like a king
Lunch like a Queen &
Dinner like a pauper
& go for walks
Paisley is so cute she looks so much like Noah & try’s coping what he does 🌻🌻
What are your top 5 cereals? Definitely a great idea to write down how much we spend.
Fun question! Hmm..
1. Cinnamon Toast Crunch
2. Special K red berries
3. Lucky Charms
4. Honey Nut Cheerios
5. Rice Krispies Treats cereal but they don’t make it anymore! 😭
Now i want all those cereals lol
Do you have any good consignment stores close to you? I’ve found similar bowls at my local one.
I don’t know of many, but I’m sure there are. I’m not sure if it’s worth trekking around for though 😂 I might just suck it up and buy some from Amazon.
When I was dieting, I ate breakfast and about 2:00 I would eat my lunch/dinner. I would allow myself yogurt, an apple or banana with a little peanut butter, or a few crackers with a little cheese. That probably would be hard for you though because you have to prepare dinner for your family. It's just me and my husband anymore.
It is hard being around food all the time. The kids never stop eating it seems!
Jill I understand wanting to lose some weight but I just wanted to tell you, you look amazing! Definitely don’t look like you’ve had 4 kids. I will say what worked best for me was counting calories, but I also got obsessive so not sure how good that is for your mental health 😩
I feel like that would work best for me too but I also get obsessive. So I want to do that as a last resort.
Not sure if you're open to suggestions, but have you ever tried Weight Watchers. I'm one month in and have lost 11 lbs. I've had many different iterations of dieting since having my second child, and I've tried different things, including intermittent fasting, calorie counting, eating withing a certain range for my macros, and Keto. But the thing that has been the most successful is WW. I've reduced the amount of processed foods I eat and eat a fruit and/or vegetable with every meal. I'm literally never hungry. Sometimes I can't even eat all my points because I'm just not hungry. I've honestly never felt better in my adult life. Look at me, I literally sound like an ad for them.
I haven’t ever tried it, but I’m open to it if I don’t see any change with the fasting. Thats great that it works for you!
Re_play bowls are really good I have a bunch of them and I love them There are a lot cheaper on their website.
Good to know!
You don't need to count calories. Intermittent fasting absolutely works and don't starve yourself, lady! Eat those treats and eat that cereal. If you'd like a suggestion: start bringing in healthy macros into your life for a balance. Upping your protein WILL satiate you! I promise! Also, sweating a bit a week helps you lose lbs as well! Remember---for all calories in--make sure you expend calories out. If you're making ground beef sloppy Joe's for the kids, remember to set aside "some" ground beef for yourself and eat a shit load of broccoli with your beef and let the kids have the sloppy joe stuff. There's hidden sugars in canned foods and bread. Those foods also still make you hungry. Keep it simple, mama! Honestly, you're doing great! It's a journey at our age (I think you're my age.. 37)! It's easier to lose weight in the spring and summer as well so, don't be too hard on yourself! I love you're apron and also love your hair how it's growing in! The blonde Bob suits you🌻 thank you for sharing your home and life with us🌻
Strongly disagree
Thanks for the tips! I do need to get some exercise in and eat more veggies. We’ll see where this goes!
@@jojo-tz2ym cool, thanks for your input.
Protein is a must to keep you satiated-cereal is not nutrient dense.
Dosen't sound like you ate enough calories, body went into starvation mode "fight or flight " stress to hold onto what weight you have. Fill up on veggies, protein and little carbs. Move lots at playground with kiddos and take them out for walks/bike ride up and down the street
I’m pretty sure my cereal calories were enough for the day 🤣 Who knows. I’ll see how this week goes.
Try not beat yourself up my niece has lost 10lbs on the fasting diet but it took a couple of weeks for it to start coming off so keep at it she’s still doing it
Hey, you mentioned that you don't use pullups.. what are some tips on getting a boy potty trained? Did you do the same thing with both your boys? Did you have to do different things, Did you give up for a period of time?
I have 2 boys that r teens now but I waited until almost 3 with them and had no issues at all!
Jill you seem happier and your videos are much better. the basement is looking better especially the laundry area. Hang in there you are doing great
I just went straight to underwear with all of them but the boys I waited longer, til 3 at least, maybe even 3 and a half. You have to just feel it out with each kid and when they are ready. I also make a big deal about being a “big boy” and getting to wear underwear and no more “yucky diapers.” With Paisley I will probably try around 2.5 and see how she does.
Oh and while potty training I brought them for potty breaks like every 20 minutes the first couple days lol. Exhausting but it helps.
@@TheGiddyGardenerI wish that was the case with my son lol. He's almost 6 and does well in school usually one accident a day but at home it's a different story. He's also autistic I'm pretty sure and hope he gets there one day.
Make sure to eat plenty of protein and vegetables including water. Losing weight is a marathon, not a sprint.
Unfortunately, intermittent fasting doesn't suit everybody. Some people find it backfires because it triggers their body to go into survival mode & retain as much reserve as it can. If you find you're gaining weight in future weeks, or staying the same, it may not be for you. Even if it's worked for you before, a pregnancy can change your body's response to different things, including intermittent fasting.
Not at all sponsored for this, but have you tried probiotics? A lot of people who go on probiotics, often for other reasons, find that they lose weight. This is because if you body isn't processing fats properly, probiotics put that right. They have many other benefits too. I feel so much better in many ways for taking probiotics. I no longer run insanely hot & sweat over the littelest thing, my brain fog (from chronic fatigue syndrome) was reduced, my vision was slightly clearer, I've lost over a stone in weight, etc. Before I was on probiotics, any changes I made would only drop a couple of pounds, but the probiotics have made a huge difference. While you may have to try a few before you find one that suits you, I would recommend you start by trying Optibac Every Day. They're available on Amazon. You do have to keep taking them though. If you stop, you can go backwards on the improvements that you experience. But they're so worth it. They not a miracle cure, but so many people genuinely feel healthier on probiotics.
Thanks for the suggestion! I didn’t really know anything about probiotics or their benefits. I will look into it!
@@MommyEtc You're welcome.
That's crazy that you gained, maybe you lost inches 🤷 🌻🌻🌻
