Another delightful boat tour. It is quite refreshing to see more sailboat tours. Power boats are all about getting to the next port of call as fast as possible while sailboats are all about the journey along the way. If you are in a hurry, sailboats are not for you but if you love the journey and being moved by the wind, there is a sailboat calling you.
You know whats the best about this review? The fact you said " I recorded lots of boats today " Win Win ! Beneteau Oceanis 38.1, beautiful boat, the interior choice of wood/color made the whole space look far bigger than actually is!
The sunlight reflecting off the water on the roof above the interior dining table, that has me sold. I'm already sailing down the coast of France in July.
I really like the spacing on sailingboats often a lot more than on motoryachts. It is much more utilitarian. I don't need 20 Showers and 15 walk in closets (e.g. a en-suit for every Cabin). I mean if i am on a 30-40 foot boat it is probably with family and close friends anyways, bit to tight to share with strangers imo. 1 Seperate shower and 1 Toilet would be more than enough and then use that space to make the cabines bigger/ add more storage room/ a place for a laundry machine, a seperate cabin maybe with a desk to work at so you can do some homeofficing. If i OWN the boat i do not need it to be a Hotelroom, i want it to be a second home. And like i said, i find sailingyachts tend to fill that role much more than motoryachts. That said, it might be obvious why. If i am a sailor, i am willing to work to get from A to B on my boat, while motoryachts probably attract a verry differen clientel.
If you were married to my wife you'd know that 2 toilets is essential. There's also the rule of 4 for toilet roll storage, every female requires 4 rolls for every 1 used by a chap, what they do with it who knows, one of lifes mysteries.
@@SurreyAlan then put 1 "Bathroom" Shower plus toilet and one single toilet. If you really need it, but it might be better to change your toilet habbits and safe the space to stock up all the toiletpaper you need ;).
Those lovely hull windows in the forward cabin really make this boats 'at anchor' appeal. Most boats this size only have the deck hatch but imagine waking up anchored in a beautiful Mallorcan cove and having that view from your bed. The new Bavaria C38 has added decent forward cabin windows too.
What a gorgeous interior. Took me by surprise how much room you have in there. That large storage space under the seat. That would be an ideal place to put my wife when I need a break.
Wow! These are shockingly popular. But honestyly, I can see why. Affordable family cruising is the name of the game. I like the little sister of this even more.
I’m always amazed at how much liveability these designers can fit into such a small space. I think this boat hits a perfect sweet spot, never thought a 38ft boat could feel this big
Jasmine Harrison. On a side note, just figured I'd share something I just read. Jasmine Harrison,a 21year old teacher has single handedly rowed 3,000 miles across the Atlantic in 70 days, about the same time it would take me to row from Torquay to Dartmouth I reckon. 👏👏
So I think that’s the best layout for a boat that size I have seen so far…separate shower room is brilliant…heart tells me I want a 1000hp motorboat to belt about and act like i’m 17..but everything ends tells me what a boat the Oceanis is..always like them anyway but now they seem better than ever..transant is on my bucket list - perfect boat to do it in.
If sailing is yout ting what a great little vessel at good price to get. Love how light it si and the layout very practical, Deffo have 2 cabins with that nice shower room.
We just went sailing on the older version of this really brilliant little boat changed my opinion on little sailing boats. This new version looks great. Thank you Sir! 😁
Your reviews are by far the best yacht and boat reviews here on UA-cam. I love how informative and thorough they are. However, PLEASE try to get onto more superyachts!!!! That’s what we’re all really here for :)
Sailing boats are really not my thing... BUT.... I was really surprised haw spacious, well built and well kitted out it was. Lovely looking boat. Great review as we`ve now become accustomed too.
Cracking tour of a really appealing little yacht. We really are spoilt for choice in this size range, well designed and expertly executed. Super yacht quality at an attainable price point and sensible size. Thank you as always for a cracking tour, take care and stay safe. 👍👍👍⛴🛳🛥🚤🏴☠️⛵🚢⚓😎
Never been so disappointed in one of your walk throughs... fantastic boat, but I soo wanted you to drop the contents of that tray down the back of the cooker😉😂
I’ve said it before, I generally like a centre cockpit better, but that shower! 🔥For a production boat, she’s a sweet one. Once again Nick is bringing the variety, with another fantastic Aquaholic Tour!
Not a fan of 'proper' yachts but that's quite a nice piece of kit. Is that the lovely Beneteau ST41 alongside the quay that you did a tour of recently??
Love looking around these sail boats, I prefer dreaming about motor yachts but these sailers are really smart. Lovely weather in Southampton today, I can't even remember where my shorts are! 🤪👍
Maggie's got some competition in the _looking-cool-on-a-bench-seat_ stakes, as those seahorse cushions are pretty damn awesome! Great to see a 'sailer' on your channel. A lovely boat and a great price. I wouldn't mind one myself! Great prez as ever, thanks Nick. 💯#☝️😎👌
Hey Nick, thanks for another cracking all-access tour - and no broken cups! Quick question, what would be specific to the Med that might leave one needing 2 anchors instead of 1? I'm still learning, thanks for your great insights.
Another sailboat! Great, many thanks! I do like Beneteau, the only thing that spoils the aesthetics in my view is the huge GRP bar above the companionway, resulting in the hugely oversized plastic windows as a result of it. Practical it may be, I just don’t like it. still a Hanse fan!
I haven't sailed anything for many years but does the roller furling main have some form of battens? If not is there a loss of performance? I presume this is more a social /cruising feature where performance is weighted less than convenience, because they certainly look easy to use. Until they foul!
I'm totally with you. There cannot be sewn in battens that roll up inside, and you can't put them in as you pull the sail out of the mast. And how is the sail attached to the boom? I'm old school where the sail slid into the boom and then you guided it into the mast as you raised it. All this new fangled technology LOL.
Nick, excellent and informative as usual, thank you! Should you come across a Sirena 64, can you pls review it as well? I am so in love with that one 😍
@@AQUAHOLIC I know! Saw the 64 on another channel. Liked the boat so much, but not the walkthrough. But once you’re used to Aquaholic, there’s no other channel!

Yet another class modern sailer, love these drop transoms 👍. Seeing the empty cutlery tray made me think, on many boats you have featured up for sale, you have shown cracking sets of branded crockery, cutlery, glassware, tools etc. Are these supplied with the boat or optional extras when new? Only thing I got was one dealer branded floating key ring, with all 3 keys on, in a shape of an old ships wheel 😂.
Excellent tour of a lovely yacht, thanks Nick! Good job it’s got an engine as I wouldn’t have a clue what to do with those flappy things?!?! Moral of video though: don’t balance breakable stuff on top of a gimballed stove... that’s just silly! 🤪
Good Morning Nick & Maggie! I really like this layout Nick, I think the price seams great for a new boat with financing now days and I can see how this might be a good option for folks. - That's one of the many reasons I love your videos, we all get to see how much some of the used boats on the market go for...I remember the 2008 Trader 42 that was 250k, That was a lot of boat for the money! What a pretty boat! Looks very good on the outside, but the interior.. WOW! Love the colours and the space! And actually a really fair price, too. Moments of tension when moving the tray were fun to see. Cheers!
The biggest difference between Nicks reviews of sailboats v motor yachts is you never hear the word "range" on a sailboat. I think that tells all. I'm pretty sure they invented baked beans in a can for yachties on a long voyage.
Inland Europe there are many lakes and river parts where gas boats are not allowed outside commercial use. These are the yachts I can really get behind very glad we got a few of them.
A general query Nick: I've watched most of your boat reviews, both sailboats and cruisers, and you do a good job of showing all the facilities on-board each. They don't put toilet paper holder if it is exposed to shower water splashes... but the builders didn't bother to spend few dollars to make a nicely pivoted box or shutter beside the head to place the toilet paper there away from water... so that they ignored it totally.... so remember if you get a boat like this, don't forget to take the toilet paper in your hand before you sit on the head 😂
