This video is just perfect timing. I recently discovered my love for colored pencils. I do children’s book illustrations and usually do watercolor, gouache, markers or even acrylics and oils. But I discovered how amazingly detailed Colored pencils can get while going back to coloring books when my daughter wanted me to color with her.
As an early Christmas present I recently bought the scorpion and both skin tone sets for my daughter and the 12 pencils lightfast set. Now I ordered the 72 lightfast set and about 20 Polychromos and 15 Holbein because my daughter loved those pastel colors. And three luminance to test those too. They’ll be delivered today and I’m so excited. I feel like a child on Christmas evening ( in my home country, Guatemala , we celebrate on the evening of the 24th)
I do one or two big orders from Blick a year and this year it was colored pencils. I hope I’ll be able to use them for work because of the big investment but Infotaste for my next work I’ll just practice.
My daughter already asks for all black widow pencils.

Working from home today and in my lunchbreak I did lots of downloading of my 30 days free pictures and printed out on a few different papers for my daughters and I to try out - then tonight I discovered the original spider, cobra and monarch sets 15% off and ordered lol, now I’m almost halfway to a full set of black widows!
You make this look so easy. I love the color charts to help you determine what colors go well together. You have a genius system. I wish all the pencil companies did that. I don't have any Black widow pencils so the charts won't help me. What was the paint you used to make the snow? I didn't see it in the descriptions below. I am so happy I found your channel. Lots of information on how to create beautiful art. Thank you.

I have had trubble trying to figure out how to get into this give away I tryed the last vidio you made from these pencils I love the blackwiddows and have a few of the sets but would love to have all to play with for the 2022 year
Thx so much 4 this fabulous video with amazing tips, but i always wonder: when you color, do you color in "stripes", up and down or do u use very large flat ovals, i can never see that in your coloring and have not heard ( sorry have not seen all of your fab videos yet) you mension this..soooo curious, cause always hear that people make kind if round gestures coloring, and i can never get used to that..

I'm thinking of getting the BWidow set but am a little concerned about how much pressure they require; you're saying they're not too bad, is that right? On the off chance you don't know this - I assume you do, but ya never know - white acrylic ink is really great for spattering, straight out of the bottle. And it uses titanium dioxide as a pigment, which is colorfast. PhMartin or someone else reputable, will be using acid-free and durable binders.
Thanks so much for this vid, I just got myself most of the Black Widow pencils - I haven't gotten the skin tones, and then they released that dragon set just as I was starting to gloat - and I'll be using your swatch charts. (And using them to re-arrange the pencils I do have in the case.) I've got Prismacolors but I wanted something mid-range to fool around with and seeing your work makes me think I made the right choice. Thanks again, and happy holidays.
