Its not LFM its a diagnostic mode that turns off DSP settings. It changes the profile, turns of protections and is the reason JBL disabled this, people who think its LFM keep frying their speakers and then return them on warranty. Don't do this people

The lfm mode on jbl speakers are just for testing their frequencies it is NOT advisable on using it on a daily basis as it will ruin your speaker. Becuase turning on lfm turns off its DSP and then it will go nuts becuase the woofers have nothing to rely on connectivity It's just better to use the bass boost mode rather than lfm so that it will be able to limit its frequencies and volumes and it still sounds good even on bass boost mode only

No, it can't be a monitor because the main principal for a monitor speaker is to produce original flat resolution audio with THD lessthan 0.09, these party boxes are bass boosted for more dancing environment with 10 percent THD. Good for home theater, outdoor and dj purpose, but for recording and monitoring these are not at all a good choice.
It's for the situations where you need to orient the speaker differently. The top ones turn on simultaneously when the speaker is placed vertically. The bottom one turns on with the top one when the speaker is placed horizontally

Tomo Rainns don't use it, it's worthless. With LFM there is no audio processing at all, so it will sound bad and also distort quite a bit.

Face Man no, this mode disables sound processing entirely. It sounds pretty bad on DSP off mode or "LFM", but it goes deeper

There is Bass Boost Mode 1, 2, and Bass Boost off, and also LFM1 and LFM2 and LFM off.

Gapple_ YT wrong. The Partybox 300 can go as low as 32-33hz in normal mode, but with DSP off the speakers move till 1hz.
