The JBL PartyBox 300 is a beast of a speaker… its battery powered and it has a really good looking built in light feature. But when it comes to price, the Partybox 300 retails for the same price as the JBL boombox. Now obviously you’ll might be tempted to go with the Partybox cause its bigger and it has that light feature… but depending on your needs and what you plan on doing with your speaker you’ll might be better off with the Boombox. So lets see which ones right for you.

To anyone that happens to read my comment while considering purchasing 1 or 2 partybox 300s. I got one and it is insane. I decided to buy a second because MOAR POWER. I absolutely did not need a second one for inside my house. There is so much damn bass that it gives me a headache, and that's without using bass boost on either speaker. That being said, 2 of these is a freaking insane set up and fuck it I'm keeping both
Or u just but the 1000
@@colin311 or just buy a proper setup for this price form a brand like ave
Have you ever listened to a sonos play 5? Would you consider it better sounding or worse than the jbl partybox 300
Can you turn the lights off? Sometimes I will want to listen while I fall asleep.

the bass on partybox 300 is insane...trust
bruh my pulse 4 is way louder
...
I worked at a retail store a few months back where i had the opportunity to test this partybox out. This partybox is a beast...i love it.
ive owned the parybox 300 for almost half a year now, its been pretty damn good in taking over as our main party sound device as our main sound systems are too big to move or incredibly complicated to install outside . outside of party use i use it in the Bathroom in the morning for my morning showers and just blast out my morning with those hard hitting bass notes coming out of them, The only negative i have for it is the size, its harder to just throw in the back of your car for a beach trip or maybe to a friends house who doesn't have a decent sound system. Even my family have been using it to blast music where ever they are when they clean up the house, in real life usage , you can expect around 12 - 14 hours at 70 percent outside with bass boost on. also experiment with the placement within the room if indoors, can get some really good bass or sometimes overpowering bass. ive been thinking about getting the boombox just for easy trips, can fit in my bag and doesn't weigh a ton.
other features that ive used it for:. Its not a bad bass amp, if you need something battery powered this isn't too bad of bass amp i've used a few times for to practice or to teach with. using a guitar with it was okay, just make sure bass boost is off.
only issue ive had with it are the bluetooth volume controls. on some androids you cannot change the volume from the phone youll need to physically change it on the speaker, (which can be a pain), and on IOS, there is a bug where the volume doesnt change at all and you have to reconnect to fix it, although the bug doesnt happen alot its still a pain. I generally use my iphone as the sound source through bluetooth and control volume and song through my apple watch.
Got the Partybox 100 for 179€ a few months back. Almost half the weight and size of the Partybox 300, nearly the same sound. Basically the same lighting effect and battery life and with a stage stand mount, for less than the Xtreme 2’s price... was a good sale! Now I see it for around 250€ or so, which makes it a good middle ground between the two. Still a bit louder, way more bass than the Boombox, just less rugged and a bit bigger (but not that much), still not nearly the size of the Partybox 300 tho, which is good!
Why not just put a Car Battery with a speaker on it at this point
Because it will look like shit
I actually saw some blacks in Pensacola Beach with the set up you just described and they were killing it. I had my custom box with 4 boomboxes and those guys smoked me.
@@The667tony yo the fact that you said Pensacola beach... how you know where I live lmao 😂
@@The667tony diy setups always go hard though no compromises
Weight? A Li-Ion battery the size of a car battery weighs half as much and lasts 2-3 times longer.
It really surprises me the partybox doesn't last all that long, as it only has a 10400mAh battery. They could've put a 5 times bigger battery in there which would only increase it weight by like 2 pounds...which is negligible compared to the 30+ pounds it already is.
Hi mate, great review and thinking I made a mistake buying the 300 instead of the 100 ?
Partly because of the size , and I’m told the 100 has a little more clarity from the reviews I’ve seen.
I’m a musician myself and thought the guitar/ mic input might be a handy feature for me , but you obviously can’t get the effects on it unless I can possibly hook up my mixer to it .... which is the question itself?
Is that possible? As you mentioned that it can be hooked up to a receiver via the aux inputs.
Do you mean a small mixing desk?
Cheers in advance from Australia
Gerard 😊
Party box 300 is only $375 on Amazon, while the boombox is still $500 for me! (Based on your links in the description)
I have 2 Partyboxes and they are great for DJing Parties in the middle of nowhere...no power needed...DDJ-SB3 runs of the Laptop battery and all you need.
I bought a partybox 300 and jerry rigged it to a small extendable dolly and I take it to work all the time😂😂
i have a party box 300 and a boombox. There is a little difference. The party box bass is much deeper and much more clear. The party box plays a little bit higher volume than boombox. If i want to recommend a speaker, i want to recommend both speakers. they are really good and cheap for the price :) have a good day.
Well no shit it had like 2 6.5 subs
Linus: *sees RGB on partybox and not on the boombox*
Also Linus: I'm takin this whole colour spectrum circle producing box with me.
The live song comparison of the 3 speakers you did was the coolest and most useful compare I've seen. Nice job! Thanks for the review.
It's about time I thought you didn't like the party box or something lol
The boombox obviously has exponentially better highs than the partybox 300 and the xtreme2. I have no idea why anybody would compare the clarity of the boombox to the other 2 in this video. They do NOT sound similar at all in this video or in person. I have all 3 of these speakers, an xtreme and a charge 3 and 4. The charge 4 sounds and is better than the xtreme 2 also, xtreme 2 was a huge flop even with the firmware update that improved it. It is Extremely overpriced. Partybox sounds great and has insane bass compared to boombox. It has insane bass period. Especially for a battery powered portable. But, If you want more clarity, portability, and way crispier highs on the same EQ’s, get the boombox. If you want stonking loud and awesome(but not as crispy), get the partybox 300.
But xtreme 1 is better than charge 4 right?
SnukkieBoy NO wrong. The Charge3 is self better then the xtreme 1 when it comes to the sound. In Bass is the xtreme 1 better
@@luukdebeijer5062 no. charge 3 and 4 are better sounding than either xtreme. the xtreme's output better bass like Niklas said, but clarity is way better is both charge 3 and 4.
Ehh i like the boombox best out of party 100 an 300 , sold 100 keep 300 for bass partys an boombox for light stuff, handles on partyboxes suck an u wont want to carry to fare.
@@nickp66104 i agree. boombox has better clarity and is so much more portable. i don't think they should cost the same though just because of the power differences though..
I got the boom box and it is awesome
Same here. Absolute weapon.
will the 100 make it to Ur reviews?
I like the design of charge 2 + , hope JBL would improve that design .
Charge 3. Is the improvement.. now charge 4 is the improvement of charge 3 in terms of design and sound 😐
Okay

March-April dude
BigBangOmegaNova March-April

March or April.
The boombox seems louder on the measurements because the treble is louder. And the partybox will project sound further in an open space
True ‼️
It's also nice that you can buy extra battery upgrade packs for the partybox 300. One at 10.400mAm & one at 13.400mAh. 4 Screws unplug the battery pack with the balance connector & put in the new one if one planing a longer party where there's no other power sources. And when the original battery pack don't hold a charge as good anymore one can always use the original housing, and make a new battery pack with higher quality & higher mAh cells.
i just love how menacing the soundboks looks in the background haha, just a reminder of who is boss
Lemme just say this,
I just loooooooooooooooooove your videos! They are real informative and fun to watch!! Keep up ur good work :)
Push the Bluethooth-symbol and the minus-symbol for above 10 seconds to activate "outdoor-mode". This makes your Partybox 300 really loud!

Nah bro💀💀💀 thats lfm mode/full power mode and it just breaks speakers
Anyone know if Best Buy demos of the party box disables bass boost? Cuz I compared in store to other jbl and Sony and the party box had VERY LITTLE bass!!!! (I'm an audiophile and recording professional)

Thing is, I'm pretty sure he said "not so DURABLE body". But funny comment either way lol

Can some one tell me what song that is? Just a suggestion for future content, give the artist some cred too! Great vid.
JBL Partybox 300 has 240W of power
I think 240W is when its on AC but its less on DC am i right? And can you please say how many Watts it has when on battery?
Is the partybox 100 any good? I could afford the 300 but I’d rather get the cheaper one. Any suggestions?
I don't have the money to get both & I love the light effects on the partybox.. I was watching this video to help me make a decision between the JBL partybox & the JBL boombox. This video did help! Since The boombox does have (connect Plus+) and I have three other JBL speakers that also have the connect plus feature I went with that. Nevertheless I'm far from disappointed.. I love it and bring it in my car and it rocks out my house you can hear me down the block I'm sure !JBL speakers have spoiled me with their magnificent sounds. I don't think I can never go to a different one unless it's made by them.
Can't afford them. Please sale me 1 🙏🏾
you use it in your car? instead of your car stereo? how is that working out? was thinking the partybox 300 for the car myself... but if the boombox is more than enough
im trying to decide because i love bass but i travel alot.. should i get partybox or boombox??

Hey bro i have a stupid question . I did notice you say and show we can plug in the party 300 into car outlet and it will stay on .
Does that work as well in home or will it shut off while plugged in house outlet.
I asked because I have a sony speaker hand size I had it plugged in thinking it would stay on having the battery powered while plugged in but it shut off on me. Thanks and appreciate your feedback
I have 2 Boomboxs and 2 Partybox 300. They both are great but when it comes to pairing them together the Partyboxes are at least x3 times louder and the bass is great. Getting the Partybox 1000 this afternoon am really excited!
Send me some of your money.
What is the name of the song you put on them 3?
that makes no sense, extreme louder than partybox ?? say what ?? even music festivals peak is 110dB so does it make Extreme2 as loud as Tomorrowlad main stage ??
Dżejkob you can take 5 Jbl Extreme ans the partybox has still more power
I'm a current owner of an Xtreme 2 and a charge 3. Although this video doesn't particularly focus on this point, I still feel that it's relevant that I'm considering buying a boombox, and I think the boombox will be a better purchase than the boombox 2. Right now there are only three speakers in JBL's lineup with PartyBoost-the Flip 4, Pulse 4, and soon-to-be Boombox 2. The three of those are of incredibly different sizes and outputs, and I really believe each are for a different type of consumer. Yes, I've watched reviews on how PartyBoost stacks up against Connect+, and it certainly is a lot better. That being said, right now there are a limited number of speakers available with that technology and although technically compatible, I can't see many scenarios where those particular 3 speakers would be purposefully linked together other than for a good laugh.
On the other hand, JBL connect and connect+ speakers are both compatible with each other. Obviously in their current state they're not, but a 20 minute software update made my charge 3 compatible with my Xtreme 2 and boom-problem solved. The older speakers are much more compatible and have many more options to choose from for different types of people, and they're still pretty current technology (also at this point they're cheaper).
Someday the PartyBoost speakers are going to be WAY better than the previous generations. Their technology already is in terms of connection quality, etcetera. But the options are so limited at the moment and the prices are still up so high, that it would be very inconvenient for consumers looking to buy multiple speakers to get these now. You have to spend way too much knowing it will make your previous JBL investments obsolete, and you waste way too much time waiting for other PartyBoost speakers to release. It just isn't the best decision at this point in time.
don't waste your money on jbl bluetooth speakers.. the battery will crap out after a couple months. Happened with my Xtreme and flip 4. Now they won't work without being plugged in and whats the point of that.
What bluetooth speaker do you recommend buying then
I have had the boombox for awhile battery still lasts me half a week
Jacob ferg About to be 2 years since I got my boom box and it still works perfectly fine maybe u just have bad luck lol
My flip 4 lasted months with occasional usage and now that u let my friend use it for about 6 months it only lasts about 3 or 4 weeks but thats still really good. My charge 3, charge 4, flip 4, flip 5, and xtreme 2 have all had good battery life
What? I have the Xtreme for 4 months and the battery life is excellent. I recently used it 3 hours on about 80%-90% volume and it was still full when I checked the battery at home. ( And no, it was not on low-frequency Mode)
partybox 100 tho
.. boombox 2 if u need something for the beach, PB100 for @home or a small party
.. but i own a pb100 sooo .. ;D
Thicc boombox vs thiccer boombox by a even thicccer man
I heard very significant difference between those speakers.
What are they in your opinion? I'm looking
@@lmafo4utube Well the Partybox definitely has much more low end and "lower" tone than the other two. Extreme and Boombox were quite similar to each other but as an audiophile I heard some tone differences there too. The two smaller ones had much brighter sound overall with the Extreme being the brightest sounding one.
What should i buy Boombox or partybox?

You're a great reviewer. Please could I ask you for an advice: Do you know of any quality bluetooth tooth portable party speakers that have got an equalizer?
JBL bluetooth speakers are wonderful especially with some having the bass boost on and off option but there isn't any option to at least reduce the high pitch of the treble. The high pitch sound is ideal for outdoor but not for my indoor music liking. I really want to lower the treble and push the bass boost button which could give more listening meaning to the bass depth to suit my taste. Thank you brother. Please could you get back to me.
Have checked out UE hyperboom
Time to hook it on the motorbike!
Which one has the cleanest sound ?, or which one do you recommend the jbl boombox, jbl flip 5 or xtreme. or you think it is better to wait for boombox 2

Get Og boom box for several reasons
I charge my boombox and play it every day and only charge it once every week and I play music consistently and over 50% so I dont think it lasts 24 hours believe me

I have PartyBox300 and let me share my experience. We all need bass. The amount of bass Partybox300 can produce is mind blowing. It literally shatters my room. And the lights are so cool. Whereas Boombox is only a loud speaker. No physical bass as he said. But it's portable. So if you are not into real physical bass and loud music, go for boombox. Else, go get the monster.
Ofcourse yes if I push it to high volumes which I don't. Because your ears can't bear it if you're in a closed room. After all it is a party speaker so you know.
Excellent review
I bought mine for the home and the fact that I kept buying Bose stuff that really wasn’t competing with my friends jbl for the same price range. Now I really wish I had bought the ion for 160.
So which of these would you use for a outdoor, dug out “walk up song” speaker for a 8U travel softball team?
sorry for the late response, but i would definitely say the party box, there’s no doubt it’s louder and has better bass. hope this helped
Boombox 2 is more portable tho plus if it rains your covered . But the new partybox 310 is splash proof

GYMCADDY points out some key features that I wish JBL should take for action. Connect + not being standard is a failure. It's basically obsolescence. The only work around is making speakers with audio in ports. I own a gang of the older models like the Flip 4, Pulse's and Boomboxes. I just bought two of the JBL Partybox 100. At least I can go audio out to my JBL Boombox from the Partybox 100. I own a Como Audio Amico that I can hook up to speakers that have the aux in. JBL still needs to make a rugged outdoor. Like a JBL Partybox with the same fabric mesh as the Boombox.
Getting rid of the aux would be stupid because of the Bluetooth lag when watching video. I haven't tried this with my Boombox, but I know my Airpods are garbage when watching video on my cellphone, the sound and video are way out of sync.
theyre BASSically the same?
only issue I have with my partybox 300 is carrying it and it developed bluetooth connectivity issues with my Acer Nitro 5 and only with the acer nitro 5.
what app u used to check whats loudest?
The boombox actually sounds clear!🔊🔊
I have two boom boxes and love them. Great sound , can pair quick and sound great in stereo.
Should I get a part box or boom box
Is it possible to connect a boombox to the partybox via cable and then connect some extreme 2 to the boombox via jbl connect plus?
For me, portability is key because I watch a lot of outdoor movies with a projector. So it needs to be loud. Is the boombox loud enough to for 20+ to watch an outdoor movie or should I go for the partybox?
i have the 300 and it definately fills space a lot better than the boombox, however the boombox has a lot more treble and bass than the partybox. if you just want a speaker for movies go with the partybox no doubt but if you like listening to music as well the boombox wont have trouble playing movie audio.
But do you think the the loudness of the boombox will suffice?
@@trbarnes001 absolutely. the boombox is really underlooked for just how loud it is, it hangs with my 500w bose system loudness wise. Bass is also incredible. the 300 is kind of just putting a megaphone to the boombox. the bass doesnt increase from its massive sound and can sound kind of flat at times. the partybox is definately for parties with a ton of people to just play as backround noise, the boombox is for more reserved listening with better mids and bass.
@@trbarnes001 i might also add that ive had my 300 for 9 months and battery is already compromised and cant hold a charge well anymore, as well as one of my tweeters is starting to go out. Ive had no issues with my boombox yet. I might also add that if you are going to be watching movies all jbl speakers do have an ever so slight delay, its enough to be noticeable but its not too terrible.
Does the PartyBox have a handicapped volume if it isn’t plugged in like the Boombox and Xtreme series??
Yes it does, better plugged into AC

I have the charge 4, waiting on the xtreme 3 to come out next year and gonna buy that for portability and I rarely even use charge 4 at max volume unless I'm outside, it'd be way too loud in my house, I keep it around 50% inside, so I dont need to get a partybox and play music for the whole neighborhood, my uncle has xtreme 2 and you cant turn that thing over 50% without it being really loud, good for movies, gives that deep feeling to a room.
Just get the extreme 2 while it's on sale for 150 right now
