@@liamhiggins8613 I have a Milwaukee drill that is 18 v from around 1999 or year 2000. It was made in Germany. A old friend of mine never used it and gave it to me before he died. That drill is the best made drill I ever owned. The batteries were bad, but I found solid aftermarket batteries cheap. This drill is built better than Hilti. It is heavy as hell but at least it is solid. I keep it in storage and often use the batteries all the way down and store them at 50% charge. This drill is kind of like a old school Mustang. I also keep it stored in the house because it belonged to a good friend. Thanks for video.
@@VCGConstruction gotta give credit where it's due. You guys work hard and put these videos up like it's part of your job, but it's not. I didn't expect these videos for awhile (3 weeks) at the earliest very impressive stuff.
I don't work as a mechanic anymore, but these stubbies almost make me wish I did. I'd have a few M12 batteries sitting in a charge rotation on my box and I wouldn't touch an air hose all day. It's really impressive that they can handle lug nuts, but I think where they really shine is in the front wheel wells and inside the engine compartment where even a normal 3/8" pneumatic impact may not fit. It's nice that they can handle crazy universal socket setups, but with these tools I think you'll wind up needing those universals less than with any other gun.
I ordered one of these the other day for karting and general stuff on car. I already have a mains operated for crank bolts. I didn't watch any reviews or nothing it was an impulse buy. Just watched this can't wait for it to arrive !
Get it, or don't. Up to the viewers. I love my 3/8" stubby so far. Pre-ordered and got it on 9/14. Using it on cars and whatnot. It's a great tool. Does the majority of my DIY vehicle maintenance needs over the M18 mid torque impact without the size and heft.
I use my M18 1/2" mid torque for work daily and I do notice a loss in torque when using extentions. However, I only remember one time where i couldn't get a lug nut to budge so I took off the 3" extension and it came right off no problem. I think it also has a lot to do with the material and build of the tool. Similar concept to torque sticks.
Well , the Milwaukee tools 🧰 for me are Good so far , plus the videos like you post in UA-cam help a lot good toys for this Christmas......... Greetings from NYC .
Great video!!! By the way adding extensions you lose torque. 40 yrs experience. Was glad you torqued that nut then took off w 2.0 battery!!! I ordered one last night.
1:40 opposite when adding the adapter and socket you increase mass increasing performance most of the time, not including swivel/universals they rob torque
Good video Vince Titan makes a low profile adapter set the part number is 30936 and they are impact approved they should work perfect for these stubby impacts
I knew these stubby impacts would be insane and Milwaukee exceeded my expectation! What a MONSTER lil gun😊 but you really have to be careful with impacts and universals...i got smacked with a socket in the eyebrow...🤬
I think ima go with the 1\2 inch one to i have the Milwaukee electric ratchet have a 3/8 and 1/2 in so I think that half inch stubby would be the best bet because basically I'll be using it for bigger nuts anything smaller I would just use the electric ratchet
I'd like to see you get a big truck, (like a box truck or even a heavy duty pickup with 8 lug wheels) and take off all the lug nuts and put them back on really tight like holding the trigger for a couple seconds or so tightening each. On the Milwaukee impact driver I have, when you rotate a couple tires in the upper range of torque it gets so hot you can barely hold it and starts leaking grease everywhere it still works, and I hear that's normal, but I was wondering how hot this one gets.
Trying to get my friend to order one since he can get 40% discount of home depot price guy said on hold for stubby in Canada so i guess we have to wait till full moon
I’m inclined to grab one , with the right adaptor it could supplant my M18 impacts . I only use them for large screws and lags . Being an Old Fart , my M12 Fuel latest Gen. does 95% of my impact stuff .
This would also be good to bring with you on road trips if you had to change your tire on your truck or trailer. Another great video thanks for sharing that. Oh and balake wants you do a video on the 1/4 in stubby impact please, testing its torque and taking out some bolts and stuff.thanks AA Ron
This is all well and good BUT......... I really would like to see what would this machine be able to do with 6 universal joints, a 3/8 to 1/2 adapter, 6 extensions, a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter and a motorcycle adjustable fork seal driver at the end... all this in the dark... and working upside down with a balaclava over the eyes on a inflatable kayak in the middle of a F6 tornado. Milwaukee, and snap-on may make some of the best battery power impacts wrenches on the go, but when compare to foot-pound of torques it'll never compare to pneumatic impact wrenches. it's more compact in tight spaces, has high torques, and cheaper.
For construction it looks like a good tool. Automotive industry it fails quite a few things. Crank bolts from honda or toyota. Size wise it is awesome, power cannot be said the same. To compare a 3/8 12v tool to a 18v 1/2 is comparing apples to oranges. The matco is twice the size and weight of this one, and 3x the price. The stubby will remove 90%+ of bolts on a car with less strain on the user. There's no replacement for a bad boy 1/2 impact in the shop.
