    23:00 One quick correction, if the King abdicates you only use one pair of columns, not both. So if the King abdicated because stability went above the top then the leader gets prestige but doesn't get crave, while if the stability instead went below the bottom then the leader gets no prestige and only gets crave instead.

    CORRECTION. When covering stickers at the end of a game, if there is a tie for oldest sticker, the moderator does not decide where the sticker goes, it goes on the leftmost oldest sticker.

  • @alwilliams5434
    @alwilliams5434 3 роки тому +12

    CORRECTION. During setup you DO NOT give +2/-2 power to the person with most positive/negative stickers in the chronicle. You adjust everyone's power by adding one power for each positive sticker and subtracting one for every negative sticker they have there.

    Oh boy, this looks so good! Thanks for running through that, not as intimidating as my first read through the rules led me to believe. ;)
    I like the green screen effect, nice to see you with the components as you explain. Cheers!

    I really like and appreciate the tutorial. Thank you. I’ll be honest though I found myself trying to look a over your head and hoping you’d move out of the way so I could see what was going on throughout the video. It’s a bit distracting. Otherwise great video and explanation.

      Bill Martin thanks for watching, and thanks for the feed back. I’ve started experimenting with more picture-in-picture edits to avoid that problem in the future.

    On the house screen, in the middle section on the bottom there are the prestige and crave symbols. How are those used and affected?

    • @TheBoardGameGuy

      Those are awards given for playing the different objectives a certain number of times.

    Thanks for the tutorial. Thinking about breaking this out at a meetup. It seems like new players could take over the roles, but not sure if that'll work. How do you think it would play if there were say, 3 core players and 2-3 drop-ins? Would it hold up? Can you start with 5 or 6 and play successive games with fewer players?

    • @TheBoardGameGuy
      @TheBoardGameGuy  4 роки тому +4

      You can start with anywhere from 3-5 players, and adjust the player count each time, but I suspect, like most legacy games, playing with the same group of people each time will yield the most satisfying results. It is designed in such a way that new players can sub in with a different house for plays where a core person isn't available. You COULD have a sub play an established house, but the designers made the game with the idea that players wouldn't want other people playing "their" house if they missed a session.

    Do players ‘lock in’ their vote and then they cannot change in reaction to prior votes on that dilemma?
    Or, can they see all prior votes, before their first vote, and then make their choice?

    • @TheBoardGameGuy
      @TheBoardGameGuy  2 роки тому

      Votes are made publicly, in order of play, so you can see them as they happen and make your decision in sequence.

    Thanks, it was great! We have a question regarding sticker vs story card effect: we got a story card that assigns a certain open agenda to its signer. This instruction is to take effect at the beginning of the next game (i.e. it has a star symbol). Then, if at the next game's legacy set up, a chronicle sticker assigns the exact same open agenda to another person, which effect will be prioritised: the sticker's or the story card's? Thank you!

    • @davidmadly
      @davidmadly Рік тому +1

      On page 12, the rulebook says "Note: it is possible that a player was already assigned an Open Agenda while applying the effect of a Story Card (see page 10). In this case, the effect of the Story Card has priority, and the most recent Chronicle sticker is ignored for that Open Agenda."
      I hope that was the info you were looking for. Have a great game & a happy new year!

    Quick question that has kind of been unclear in the rules and from the tutorial. But when you finish the game and then done with scoring and everything, does all the power and money reset to what you start with which is 8 power and 10 coin? And then you go with the legacy setup to determine the rest? And does the stability marker and all the resources reset back to the middle?

    • @TheBoardGameGuy
      @TheBoardGameGuy  2 роки тому

      You start the next game by doing the set up procedure (handing out power & money - plus modifiers for legacy elements - and tossing the resource markers, and setting the stability track back to centre.

    Final scoring looks strange and I have concerns with getting loads of points for like having resources down the middle of the track and what not... I would hope think the scoring would be maybe a bit more balanced and specific for each house?

    • @TheBoardGameGuy
      @TheBoardGameGuy  5 років тому

      Loki Hve The end game scoring doesn’t change from house to house, but each house does give different rewards for playing the different objectives multiple times. The flavour of the house matches whether you want to play the opportunist frequently, or more times as the moderate, etc.

      Loki Hve Haven’t completed the campaign, yet, so I don’t have a fully formed opinion, but I am enjoying the story that unfolds as we play. I also like the backstabbing and arguing that occurs between players when we vote on issues.

      @@TheBoardGameGuy So, so far how much do you like it with how many players do you play and what are the cons, pros? Maybe your current rating?

    • @TheBoardGameGuy
      @TheBoardGameGuy  5 років тому

      I’m a teacher, not really a reviewer, so I’m not going to give it a rating. Everyone’s taste is different, so giving it a numerical score doesn’t really mean anything. My campaign has 4 players in it. I wish there were 5. I definitely wouldn’t recommend playing with just 3. I mean you can, but the whole point of the game is social interaction, so the more players you have, the more you will enjoy the experience.

    Thanks for making this! I feel much more prepped to try it out later this week with my group. I'm most concerned about the momentum and how that works in different cases; does it move less if it has a different momentum? Does the momentum change? In any case, really enjoyed your explanation!

    • @TheBoardGameGuy
      @TheBoardGameGuy  4 роки тому +3

      Christian Malleck Momentum is binary. Either a resource has it, in which case it moves an extra space in that direction, or it doesn’t have momentum. Glad my video helped you feel ready to play the game. Thanks for watching.

    • @jmwytube
      @jmwytube 4 роки тому

      @@TheBoardGameGuy I thought that if a resource token is white (positive momentum) and gets another positive result trigger, it moves an extra space, and then gets the little bracket-looking arrow added to the resource token indicating double momentum. Going forward moves in the same direction (until momentum reversed) would get two extra spaces. I think.

    Can game be played ones again After one campaign is finished?

    • @TheBoardGameGuy
      @TheBoardGameGuy  4 роки тому

      Unfortunately it is not reusable. Because of the stickers being removed from the sticker book and applied to the board, and components getting signed by players, once you've played through it, it is unusable.

    • @TheBoardGameGuy

      Crave doesn’t do anything during play. It’s an alternate form of victory points, and the final mystery stickers will tell you how it factors into actual victory.
