Thanks for the vid. Just played the game for the first time (group loss - timer ran out), but we were doing a few things incorrectly, which you have now just made a whole lot clearer. Such a great game, and an iconic movie.

I got the kickstarter with all of the expansions. We (three players) played through just the base game today. It's got a lot more difficulty to it than I was expecting. Furthermore, the randomness of the NY city cards is very affected by the noise level and removing the first one. The three of us almost made it out on a bridge, but the clock ran out. The game has a feel of Pandemic to it with the event levels increasing, and the timer countdown. The movement of the prisoners is not regular either. Sometimes you end up with nothing, and other ties you get swarmed on your tile after they move. The one thing we had a problem with with is the case card and collecting the cases. But we figured it out. It's an enjoyable game, and we're looking forward to playing it more.

I recently bought a second hand copy of the game, after searching for it for months- but only realised afterwards that my copy, and its instructions were in Spanish! After some panicking, and unproductive google translate attempts- this video has really helped! I now can't wait to play! Thanks so much again 😊

Thank you very much for this video; it's the only one i've come across that discusses the "edge cases", which I have found occur all the time and aren't clarified in the rulebook! I love GF9 games, but this one definitely has the most holes in the rules. I would really appreciate if they could correct any wording errors or gaps in the rules in the PDF version of the rulebook they provide on their website - I'd be happy to print it off myself to add to the box. Otherwise, this game is great for a fun evening with other Aliens nerds and is dripping with the source material theme (like all of the other GF9 games). I'd love a part 3 video that discusses the expansions and the other tid bits not discussed in this video. Cheers!

I'm more of a standee person -- if only because they fold flatter for storage and because minifigs tend to disappear when our kids find them... 🙂 Although those minifigs are sweet.

This game has one of the worst - THE WORST - manuals in any board game I've played. Ask yourselves how many Motion Tracker cards to draw each round in a 4-player game (hint: it's *not* 4, despite the rules very clearly stating "Starting with the highest ranking player, each player in turn draws and resolves a Motion Tracker card."). Also, have a think about what happens if a blip comes into line-of-sight during the player characters' turn (hint: The rules suggest the blip flips, resolves into one alien or a swarm, then immediately moves and attacks as though in the alien activation step - we believe this is simply poorly written and in fact the blip should flip, resolve and remain static until the Activate Aliens step). Or here's a simple one: How many characters are in play in each game (hint: this is never mentioned - I think we're supposed to just assume that all of them are in play?). Also - "highest ranking player" is only useful if there is a highest ranking player, but several times in our game we had two Lts. Unless all characters are ranked (they are not) it's not always possible to determine rank. Don't get me wrong - great fun to play and well aligned thematically to the movies. But, if you wish to play this game, be prepared to interpret and agree on house rules a LOT, because you simply cannot rely on the manual to tell you how to play this game.

Hello. I want to ask. In the manual it says. About cards in hand. But I know that only hicks have the ability to take cards on. And when I watched a few videos. So someone played as Ripley. And. And she. Si she put the cards in her hand, even if it is not written in the ability. Can each character have a heroic card in her hand. Or the dining room. Some. That is stated in the rules, right? Or in the overview. kkrok . That I can send out a soldier. Does it mean that every character. Can. Cards in the hand. Do I need a crow? or I'll take a card and look at it whether I want it or not

Not sure if you'd be up forit, but they redid the core and get away from her you B**** addon's rules and have shipped em out. I recently bought them myself :D Don't think things like Ultimate Basses needs to be updated according to the store I got them for ((they've been asked a few times already)), so that's atleast a bonus.

Watching this before I play my first game - very clear, thanks. Do you play the variant rule which allows TIE fighters to destroy rebel fleet markers from an adjacent sector with a roll of a 5 or 6 (or only that the Death Star can destroy the fleet markers)?

Well... Yeah, it's helpfull! I sure can send it to people who are entering and ask why we talk in weird terms.

In one turn I can Repair an inoperable car. Move a different car in my stack and potentially shoot with that car all in one turn? Also, you can shoot twice in one turn? Bring out a chopper and shoot with it. Move your car and shoot again? Right or wrong?
