Yet despite the fact that we are a VERY LARGE PARISH, we're SEVERELY shorthanded. Yet somehow we're being asked to foot a 17 MILLION dollar new construction project??? They want us to give 6K each, yet we can't get holy water, homilies are terrible, we had to cancel evening masses during the week, people leave mass early and come late. There's no reverence anymore it's just motions to most people (including the clergy and the people that work at the church) it's sad. At the Saturday morning mass I wept from the Sanctus until I got communion, IDK what came over me but I was inconsolable for a good 25 min. They weren't my emotions coming out of my eyes. I almost feel like it was Jesus's hurt causing me to weep or the BVM's anguish at seeing the state of our church. It just doesn't feel like it use to, I feel like we're being punished.
@@lovesrlady2 It seems that he or she has no access to proper Mass. I'm in the same situation, but I believe as Abp. Lefebvre did, and the SSPX teaches, that you should never go to Luther's banquet (the new mass), because it's not Catholic. Even when real Mass isn't within your reach.
When we were without a Traditional Priest, here in Western Australia, a group of us used to fly a Priest from the U S, about every three months, if I remember correctly. The words of the consecration used to be an issue, also. The 'all' or 'many' issue.
That's what I was wondering. Do BOTH the bread and wine have to be validly consecrated in order for each Specie individually (bread and wine) to contain the Body and Blood of Christ?
@@SmithsnMozno, there is not. Totally separate. At the end, the priest brushes the crumbs into the remaining wine for him to consume. But that is so he doesn’t throw away any parts of the Eucharist.
The host is validly consecrated. So people would receive the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ, but the sacrifice itself would not have been offered. So the merits of the sacrifice would not have been applied.
I have seen videos on NO masses using chips for the bread. All of this is heartbreaking. Since 70% of Catholics do not believe in the real presence and no priests tell them not to receive the Eucharist, what does that say about the church?
When we attended a novus ordo parish about 30 years ago they had a communion bread recipe that contained honey and other invalidating ingredients. This is nothing new.
I was told as a child that they had to special order the wine and the hosts from a convent or monastery that specialized in providing them. Have they shut down those convents and Monasteries?
It took three well formed priests who most definitely take the mass seriously and with piety to come forward and report this. No doubt they are the “kind” of priests that the Pope complains about and wants kicked out of seminary!
This is horrific news and the USCCB should do something about it. However, what percentage of them actually care? I have heard of many not believing in Transubstantiation.
You can count on one hand the number of Catholic Bishops that care about anything other than closing parishes and grabbing the assets for the diocese. They aren't even good Christians let alone Catholics.
During the years I attended Catholic school, the associated parish used grocery store grape purchased juice instead of communion wine for Masses. It was claimed the bishop had granted the parish priest an indult because of his past alcoholism.
For a mass to be valid the priest must consume BOTH the bread and the wine. If he does the consecration validly but then drops dead before consuming BOTH the consecrated bread and wine the mass is invalid. This is why, if the wine is invalid, the bread is also invalid even if it is the proper form. The priest must complete the sacrifice by consuming them BOTH for it to be a valid mass.
Would that be an invalid Mass or an illicit one? This is confusing. Since the bread is consecrated first and we believe becomes the body of Christ at the moment of consecration, then it would seem that it wouldn't switch back to plain bread even if the wine was not the correct type? Also is the consecration illicit or invalid if the bread and wine have other ingredients as some other rites use leavened bread and still have a valid Mass?
If the invalidity was based upon the wine being invalid matter, that would not invalidate the consecration of the species of bread. If that matter were valid and the wine not so, then the faithful receiving the host would be communicating sacramentally, but there is no Mass because the double consecration is necessary for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. What a horrible situation. It's good that the Bishop is taking measures to correct the situation.
When Aarons two sons tried to do the sacrifice in Aarons stead , God turned them into piles of ash . I take this as a warning to follow instructions precisely .
I don't go to Luther's banquet, end of story. Whether real Mass is available or not. If there's no Traditional Mass, there's no Mass, and this is a tragedy, but I won't go to Protestant church service in a vain attempt to fulfill Sunday obligation. I've learned this with the SSPX, thanks be to God.
I go to TLM about 1x a month and otherwise to a respectful NO mass, just worried about other people who might not be so lucky. I did the bookkeeping and ordering for a parish here in Australia and they ordered the altar wines. this video made me very worried what this might do to the parishioners of NO masses if it was only one parish in USA? My husband and I don’t receive the chalice with the blood of Christ because of it being given by Eucharistic ministers
@@eugenebastian8351 we live on an island and even these churches are far away, but have been looking if that could be an option. Thank you for your suggestion
The Church in my town used Livingston Cellars for at least 25 years and the current priest changed it as soon as he came. Not sure the details of Livingston cellars but if it was changed that probably indicated it was not correct.
So glad we ditched the local protestantised diocese, here in New Zealand, to attend SSPX. The diocese Churches don't offer confession (they call it reconciliation - but only offer it once or twice a year), they hardly ever have a Priest available, and ignore the commandments and Canon law.
We buried both of my parents and had their funerals at the Church to which they (and I at one time) belonged. And then I had been having Masses said for the repose of their souls (along with many other Masses for many other family and friends). This is worrisome to say the least!
Pray for their souls. Find a traditional priest a Priest ordained in the old rite and have him do some Masses for them. If you don’t have one where you live , just look for one in the Internet and send him a donation for the Mass.
Kennedy... the Deacon at my Parish made the wine for the Masses and told me he made it using grapes and sugar. I let our priest know and he switched to valid wine right away. So it's not just in Kansas.
I believe the problem is very BIG. In the fall of 2022, I inquired about sacramental wine for use at the mass (thinking that eventually we will have to conduct underground masses and I want to be prepared). The priest (well known and with following on UA-cam) I asked could not answer my questions about which wine is appropriate for use at mass! My own research suggested that Kosher wine can be used, but I don't know if that is true, and the same priest could not answer that question either. If you try to buy sacramental wine from licensed vendors (there are strict licensing and regulatory requirements affecting vendors of sacramental wine) they are not able to sell to you, only to parishes. I think we need to make diligent inquires about WHERE our parishes are buying their wine. This is scary!
People's memories are short. Recall the commotion over invalid Baptisms caused by improper use of the words. There were priests whose very Baptisms were proven to be invalid.
I'm not even a priest and even I know you can't just go to Joe Canals or the local grocery store and grab a bottle of vino off the shelf!!!!! But not surprised, things like this are often the case at the amateur hour in Novus Ordo land
In the case of the Mass being invalid, I believe the principle of "ecclesia supplet" still applies. That is, the graces needed by the faithful would still be applied according to the disposition of those assisting at the supposed Sacrifice. Remember, the host was still, to our knowledge, validly consecrated. So Our Lord is there, and He dispenses graces as He sees fit. But the Sacrifice has not occurred when one Species is not valid matter, so the ends of the Mass have not been fulfilled. Abp. Naumann is seeking permission from the Holy See for faculties to offer a certain number of reparation Masses, depending on how many invalid Masses are being repaired. No doubt new guidelines on the specific wines allowed for Mass will be issued which were more commonplace in the old days.
Wow, Wow, Wow, this IS BAD. This problem is bigger than we know. I have always been concerned about priests lacking the specific INTENT to do the Consecration, particularly since people like Dr. Bella Dodd, a communist who personally brought in over 1000 priests into the seminary in the 30s and 40s to undermine the church. Some of those priests by now have become bishops, cardinals, and maybe even popes. If they are here specifically to undermine the church and subsequently became bishops, they could’ve ordained thousands of likeminded men with the main intention of undermining the church; i.e., looking like a priest, acting like a priest, going through the motions, performing the consecration, but not having the proper intent. Therefore an invalid Consecration and an invalid Mass. These shenanigans brought us to Vatican II and the rot within the church today. Scripture says you will know them by their fruit. Well, it is abundantly clear church has gone to hell in a handbasket since Vatican II. Was that because many priests didn’t have the proper intention, or maybe too, and as we learn now, maybe the invalid materials were going on for decades as well. No wonder most so called Catholics don’t believe in the Real Presence. They haven’t seen it [Him], or received it [HIM] for decades. At worst, they just received bread and wine, and at best, through no fault their own, only a spiritual communion.
Lefebvre was my hero. I was in Armenia, baptized as Orthodox, soon i started to read the Catholic saints; St Francis, Therese D'Avila, St John of Cross, etc. only then I understood what is the really Church all about. I have been in Europe witnessing 'their church' called 'catholic' i was astonished that the church of these great saints can be a circus which I saw, playing guitars, jumping on altar, making circles to drink wine... what was it? I returned to my country in tears and mental torture... could not understand what was going on. then I found Archbishop Lefebvre's letters and other writings, and finally the light shone and i could see clear; MODERNISM is the name of that new heresy ; this blessed man has separated the wheat from the chaff - and I was free from blasphemy, for I was thinking this catholic church is a satanic sect. O Lord! God bless Archbishop St Marcel Lefebvre ! He is the pope of a new age of 666. I am sure God granted that title to him.
Another Novus Ordo innovation was changing the words of Consecration. Our Lord Jesus said "for many." The NO for years said "for all." It is likely that these Masses were also invalid until corrected under Pope Benedict.
This is absolutely horrific! I just found out that several church parishes in my diocese have for years had invalid masses. I knew of one of them because my own mother turned in the priest but this other parish we attended for several years where I THOUGHT my boys made their 1st communions at were procuring their wine for mass from a local grocery store. I checked with the priest that was associate pastor there when we attended and he confirmed. Then we moved to another parish and that priest was one that wasn’t very strict with ruberics so it wouldn’t surprise me if it was the same scenario in that church as well. I’m so sick thinking how prevalent this may be!
Regular red or white wine purchased from a store is perfectly fine to use for Mass. I suspect a few priests in the diocese of Kansas City may have used something other than what is normally permissible.
@@KBien-vq4if You might be incorrect. The labels of almost wines list the additives like chocolate, spices, etc, Canon Law 924: "The wine that is used in the most sacred celebration of the Eucharistic Sacrifice must be natural, from the fruit of the grape, pure and incorrupt, not mixed with other substances. During the celebration itself, a small quantity of water is to be mixed with it. Great care should be taken so that the wine intended for the celebration of the Eucharist is well conserved and has not soured. It is altogether forbidden to use wine of doubtful authenticity or provenance, for the Church requires certainty regarding the conditions necessary for the validity of the sacraments. Nor are other drinks of any kind to be admitted for any reason, as they do not constitute valid matter."

I meant blood of Christ we have not been offered it since before covid. Prior to that only during weekday masses. They say the blood is in the “body” but that never sat right with me.
It’s Church teaching that each particle of the consecrated Host and the Precious Blood contain the body, blood , soul and Divinity of Our Lord. One reason the early Church began giving the laity only the Host was to reinforce that truth. Giving the Precious Blood to laity was another post V2 Novus Ordo novelty.

@@billschrader5139 That’s very interesting! Another jab at belief in the Real Presence, for sure. In the NO, giving the Precious Blood to the laity “allows” for a whole army of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, which is yet another blow.
That is so disturbing to say the least. How do I make sure it’s not happening in my parish. I attend the TLM in a diocesan parish. That means it could be a problem. I’m not really sure I and others in my parish are ok. Should I just ask the priests?
For a number of years, the consecration of the wine was invalid because of the use of the words "which shall be shed for all for the remission of sins." The word "all" made it invalid.
Defective matter is a serious matter but no sanctifying grace for the laity? The SSPX claimed Ecclesia Supplet for a long time. Why does it not apply here?
Ecclesia Supplet cannot overcome defect of form or matter. It only provides when jurisdiction is necessary for validity (Eg confession) and there is an error regarding the jurisdiction of the minister.

What do you mean stuck?
@@lovesrlady2 It seems that he or she has no access to proper Mass. I'm in the same situation, but I believe as Abp. Lefebvre did, and the SSPX teaches, that you should never go to Luther's banquet (the new mass), because it's not Catholic. Even when real Mass isn't within your reach.
@@MaryMost If that were me, I would host a traditional priest in my home for a mass with family and friends.
@@lovesrlady2 We'd do that if we could. I've never seen a traditional priest in person.
When we were without a Traditional Priest, here in Western Australia, a group of us used to fly a Priest from the U S, about every three months, if I remember correctly. The words of the consecration used to be an issue, also. The 'all' or 'many' issue.
It's hard to IMAGINE this could even happen.
Fr Gregory Hesse spoke about that he still is my go-to for all things catholic as a Vatican one catholic
Why does the phrase, Abomination of desolation come to mind.....
Thank you for reporting the errors commited in the Holy Mass.
The new mass is not holy. Is a mass from hell
If the wine is not valid how does that make the host not valid?
That's what I was wondering. Do BOTH the bread and wine have to be validly consecrated in order for each Specie individually (bread and wine) to contain the Body and Blood of Christ?
My question also. Some please find an answer to this.
Isn't there an intermingling of both the wine and the bread to consecrate into the body and blood of Our Lord?
@@SmithsnMozno, there is not. Totally separate. At the end, the priest brushes the crumbs into the remaining wine for him to consume. But that is so he doesn’t throw away any parts of the Eucharist.
The host is validly consecrated. So people would receive the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ, but the sacrifice itself would not have been offered. So the merits of the sacrifice would not have been applied.
Wow! Thank you for sharing this! I am going to reach out to my Pastor and Archbishop to make sure they are aware of this horrendous potential problem
This is one of the main reasons most have lost the faith😵
I have seen videos on NO masses using chips for the bread. All of this is heartbreaking. Since 70% of Catholics do not believe in the real presence and no priests tell them not to receive the Eucharist, what does that say about the church?
well said. No rocket scientist needed to figure why the disbelief
When we attended a novus ordo parish about 30 years ago they had a communion bread recipe that contained honey and other invalidating ingredients. This is nothing new.
So glad while in KC, I attended Mass at SSPX St. Vincent’s.
These type of problems all start with a defect of intention. The proper intention of the priest is also required for validity.
Mad dog 20/20 is also not acceptable
I was told as a child that they had to special order the wine and the hosts from a convent or monastery that specialized in providing them. Have they shut down those convents and Monasteries?
No, my parish gets our hosts from a convent (I do not know which). I don't know the source of the wine used, however.
"Deliberately destroyed vocations so they have a plausible excuse to shut them down" is more like it.
So disturbing. And it took this long to admit it.
Maybe these bishops are fooling us on purpose 😢
Many appear so lost.
You can count on one hand the number of Catholic Bishops that care about anything other than closing parishes and grabbing the assets for the diocese. They aren't even good Christians let alone Catholics.
Are you talking about bishop Naumann?
They prey on boys.
I hope they start checking every where now! Hopefully this sad news will be widely spread so people can ask
During the years I attended Catholic school, the associated parish used grocery store grape purchased juice instead of communion wine for Masses. It was claimed the bishop had granted the parish priest an indult because of his past alcoholism.
Malachi Martin said many years ago
He went to many N.O. Masses to observe
He said most were invalid
You should of included in your video the ingredients in Sacramental wine vs. Wine from the liquor store. This way we know what we are looking for
Read Fr Cekada book called “ The work of human hands” if interested in learning more on the validity
Thank you for video
Mass would be invalid, but Our Lord would still be present in the hosts!
How sad. I'm sure I'm a victim of this.
A book written by Fr. Anthony Cekada called "Work of Human Hands'' is worth reading. He also has some short videos on youtube that are very helpful.
The novus ordo church has more to worry about concerning validity other than the wine.
I attended a parish in Alaska for 25 years that used boxed wine. 😢
That is awful news. I hope it's not widespread.
Deeply concerning!
Fr. Bob, yeah really🙄 That's always a red flag.
When Aarons two sons tried to do the sacrifice in Aarons stead , God turned them into piles of ash . I take this as a warning to follow instructions precisely .
oh dear Lord, WHAT NEXT????!! in all my years, i would NEVER have expected THIS travesty on top of all the others!!
Geez, I’m in the diocese and my Parish Priest is still living in Covid. Haven’t had wine for 3 years and still swims in hand sanitizer
Chucky. Would be best to leave your NO parish.
Can the former pastor be sued for fraud?? If he knew it was bad wine but used it anyway, that’s deceiving the parishioners.
Jeff. This is an ecclesiastical matter. Civil court would not touch it.
This is horrifying!
Kennedy, can you imagine what this does to the people who have no choice as to go to NO mass? You’re freaking me out
You can attend Eastern Catholic Mass.
I don't go to Luther's banquet, end of story. Whether real Mass is available or not. If there's no Traditional Mass, there's no Mass, and this is a tragedy, but I won't go to Protestant church service in a vain attempt to fulfill Sunday obligation. I've learned this with the SSPX, thanks be to God.
or move.
And what about when we had the "betty crocker" version of communion.
I am having concerns as does my family and friends.every day it seems something new is happening.
NOW THEY HAVE TO OFFER THOSE MASSES AGAIN! CONSECRATIONS OF THE BREAD WAS VALID SO THERE WAS A COMUNION BUT NO MASS🙈🙈🙈
Funerals, weddings
Kennedy... the Deacon at my Parish made the wine for the Masses and told me he made it using grapes and sugar. I let our priest know and he switched to valid wine right away. So it's not just in Kansas.
Shocking
Completely horrific. Glad I don’t go to the NO…
He’s bishop on the Kansas side
Remember in 1970 when the words were invalid
So why doesn't The Church provide the correct wine to the church from one source only? Is that too easy?
Because there are many evil people in the Church who are in positions of power.
I live in the KC Diocese and would like to know what parish is are in question
The Bishop would not like that fact to be known, Would bring scandal for the parish
I understand
Same but I know it’s not mine cause we still don’t have wine….
People's memories are short. Recall the commotion over invalid Baptisms caused by improper use of the words. There were priests whose very Baptisms were proven to be invalid.
If the host was ok, but the wine not, does that completely invalidate the mass? What if you only received the host?
Wonder if that includes weddings and funerals?
You would think that there would be all sorts of guidelines as to which wine can be used. Each parish in every diocese needs to be audited
That would explain a lot.
I wonder if the blessing given by the NO priest with his guitar was valid?
I shouldn’t have laughed. It’s not funny. But it’s so ridiculous that this even happened.
Depends on the type of Guitar
If anything I think it’s a mockery of the cross
@@StAnthonyPaduaRadTrad If it was a Martin?
Insane. We should prepare for the worst to come. This is probably the tip.
What kind of wine is supposed to be used?
Short answer: wine made solely of grapes with no additives, other than perhaps a small amount of sulfites as a preservative.
Certainly not Sangria.
@@billschrader5139 A REGULAR white or red wine is what I left in the comment section. That would exclude added flavors. Priests travel all over the world and they generally don’t carry bottles of wine with them, instead they will purchase it from a store.
I am not at all surprised. I have had to correct a priest on using the correct words of absolution in confession.
This is so sad.
Wouldn't grocery store wine work as long as it is from grapes, fermented with yeast, and with nothing added except sulfites for preservatives?
We are told that if we receive the host only, we are still receiving Christ. If the host is consecrated correctly, how does the wine not being properly made invalidate the entire consecration?
"We are told". You need to do your homework, we can not rely on clergy for truth these days. It is our confirmation duty to read and pray. Not rely on being told.....
It doesn’t. The host is still Our Lord
If the wine was not valid there was consecration of bread but not mass
Is the Church saying BOTH SPECIES must be validly consecrated in order in order to have a valid Mass and also to have a valid Holy Communion?
@@marnatz5 no. Comunion and mass are not insaperable, the bread is consecrated but without mass and wine. That is also grave sacralige but it is validly consecrated if matter is corect, priest is validly ordained and the corect words are spoken
I know of a parish that years ago used to use homemade dandylion wine ..
The brand of choice back when I was an alterably in the late 50s to early 60s in the Houston/Galveston Diocese was Christian Brothers. I remember the priest telling us boys that was the approved wine for the mass and to let him know when it was low.
The same question could be asked of Canadian parishes obviously and much more probable considering the weak Canadian clergy.
How tragic and unnecessary. If the TLM was said, this would never have happened.
The hosts are unleavened bread, I was once asked to help pack hosts for distribution. It was so long ago I cannot recall how or why.
There was a liberal parish before my TLM days that used white wine for the consecration. Is that allowed?
Yes, white wine is fine

Chucky. An hour to the Immaculata for Sunday Mass seems reasonable. I would make that trip. I already drive 45 minutes to the local Maryland SSPX chapel.
Kennedy, have you heard of Finger Lakes in New York?
I have read that Padre Pio never celebrated the Novus Ordo mass. He always used the traditional, pre-Vatican 2, mass.
We haven’t been offered wine since before covid and then only during weekday masses. Does anyone know the rules about that?
I meant blood of Christ we have not been offered it since before covid. Prior to that only during weekday masses. They say the blood is in the “body” but that never sat right with me.
It’s Church teaching that each particle of the consecrated Host and the Precious Blood contain the body, blood , soul and Divinity of Our Lord. One reason the early Church began giving the laity only the Host was to reinforce that truth. Giving the Precious Blood to laity was another post V2 Novus Ordo novelty.
@@julielolos4552 The early protestants offered both (bread and wine) so to discourage the belief in the real presence in the host as the wine was never offed to the laity in the Traditional Mass. I can hear their words "see you are not getting all of Jesus as a Catholic but you do as a protestant
@@billschrader5139 That’s very interesting! Another jab at belief in the Real Presence, for sure. In the NO, giving the Precious Blood to the laity “allows” for a whole army of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, which is yet another blow.
@@julielolos4552 I know at a liberal parish near me where they have 15-20 EME's at each Vigil and Sunday Mass just for the distribution of the hosts
That is so disturbing to say the least. How do I make sure it’s not happening in my parish. I attend the TLM in a diocesan parish. That means it could be a problem. I’m not really sure I and others in my parish are ok. Should I just ask the priests?
Yes.
So using wrong matter for the blood and correct matter for the body makes the ENTIRE sacrifice invalid even the Body?
Boones Farm is not a valid wine.
