Thank you OSR for this truly extraordinary display of complete togetherness and commitment to the most emotionally powerful and drenching work of music ever written. Watching the musicians play in their full concert outfits to an empty Victoria Hall elicits a sense of deep reverence and gratitude for the work and for Mahler the man. This performance and the accompanying documentary are an act of love: the musicians, the conductor and the video producers all working together for a Mahler 9 performance that will stand up to any other. What an amazing lush sound and technical brilliance from the Geneva orchestra of my youth in the 70s, where I listened to my first recording of the 9th, borrowed from the bibliothèque du Collège Calvin, and heard my first performance of it in May 1975, when Haitink came with the Concertgebouw. This truly means a lot for a boy from Pinchat.
Wonderful! I love so much Mahler, I listened to it in Geneva in November 2022 and it was one of the most impressive and intense musical experience in my life! You were fantastic with Maestro Jonathan Nott, then and in this recording❤ Merci beaucoup! And thank you very much for uploading, it is a very precious film! Love from Italy❤

Exquisite.
Yet another fine performance of the great first movement, from an orchestra I have never heard play Mahler before.
Thank you 🙏 Maestro Nott particularly appreciates Mahler! (N° 3 and N° 5 on our channel as well)
