- Having led the NDR Radiophilharmonie for nine successful and moving years, Manze‘s tenure as Chief comes to an end with this performance of Gustav Mahler‘s monumental "Resurrection Symphony“.

Was it an electronic Organ? I can't really find any information about any new Organ in the HCC.
We don't know exactly what you mean. A smaller organ was played in the concert, as you can see in this picture gallery under photo number seven: www.ndr.de/orchester_chor/radiophilharmonie/konzerte/manze508_backId-manze434.html#content

One of the most spectacular symphonies of all time and which had harsh criticism from the famous Wagnerian conductor, Hans von Bulow and the new French movement of Debussy's French impressionism, which unfortunately with Paul Dukas left the theater after the second movement. Together with the 8th, both of them end with the "redemption of man" but the 2nd goes further with the "resurrection" after the loss of faith, it is Mahler's most conflictive and contradictory symphony, since it is present the day and night, "yin and yang", yes and no, death and resurrection, the contradictory essence of human existence, cannot survive and coexist one to each )other. Impressive performance by the NDR Philharmonic Orchestra and its conductor Andrew Manzel.
I have once again revived the interpretations of the late 20th century, especially those of Bernstein versions with LSO and NYPO, I don't know why I don't like the versions of other great conductors of our time, especially the "funeral rites"with exaggeratedly fast tempos.
The only criticism I could make, with great respect for the entire perfrmance,, is the slightly loud sound of the offstage brass. Otherwise a powerful and irresistible prerformance from the beginning to end. BRAVISSIMO!

このオケはブラームスのシンフォニーが伝統的重要演目と聞きますが、このマーラーの2番「復活」は、ここ40年数年間ではこの楽団の得意曲目になっている気も致します。スタートは何と楽団とすぐに合わなくなってしまったクラウス・テンシュテットかな。
それにしてもこの曲でのこのオケは上手いですね。響きも独特な何かを持っている気が致します。
でも、最近の演奏は時代の違いというか、流行でもあるのか、演奏のテンポがだいぶ速くなりました。私はマーラーがもしタイムマシンに乗ってやってきたとしたら、もっとゆっくりのテンポで、しかも結構激しく音楽を動かすのではないかと想像します。それで評論家たちとお客全員が目隠ししていたら、あるいは時代遅れの演奏スタイルの指揮者と言われてしまうことでしょう。でも、感動したという人も続出する予感がします。
ちなみにマーラーがウィーン国立歌劇場でオペラの指揮をすると聴衆はとても感動して拍手喝采するほど、格別に素晴らしかったと言われています。反面、いつもとても厳しく歌手やオケには接するため、次第に演奏者たちからは嫌われていったと聞きます。そして、ついには追い出されてしまいました。何だか、まるでNDRにおけるクラウス・テンシュテットみたいではないでしょうか。私はマーラーはそういう飛び抜けた才能とキチガイじみたほどの感性の持ち主ではなかったかと想像します。そして、演奏の異常性というか、飛び抜けたキチガイじみた激しさと壮大さはやはり、テンシュテットの指揮の特徴でもあり、この指揮者も他の指揮者も彼に比べれば普通にとても良い音楽家です。
それぞれ素晴らしいです。マーラーの持つ飛び抜けた個性を出せるヤバい位の指揮者とではこのオケは長続きしないでしょうけれど、ヴァントのようにオーソドックスな解釈のマーラー版の指揮者たちならば繰り返し演奏していけるし、そうしているうちに得意演目になってきたのだろうと思います。たぶん、オケの人たちはマーラーのこの曲が好きなのではないかと。そして合唱団もたぶんこの曲が大好きなのでしょう。だってすごくいい曲ですし。Urrichtの歌以降は、心が洗われる音楽、そして戦いの音楽、苦しみと死を受け入れて再び立ち上がる(復活)音楽の感動は半端ないです。
でも、いつか再びキチガイ指揮者が現れて、マーラーのこの曲のはち切れんばかりのキチガイ性をも含む真価を再びこのオケと演奏してほしいです。
Ja, wunderschön, aber wann schaffen es die Herrschaften an den Mischpulten endlich, den Einsatz vom Chor fast unhörbar runter zu dimmen: ppp (3!)!!!

Let only music rule the world fans & let it sound just this good, Mahler is a bit ...hallucinating, he had alcohol and narcotics problems but then, fans in the audience need a bit of . .. something shocking to wake them up. If anyone can use this composition as movie soundtrack...did you see John Williams playing with sharks and Jaws? It works like that...😂😂😅😅have fun guys 🎉❤🎉
Mahler did NOT have alcohol or narcotics problems. Where you came up with that idea is hard to imagine. 🧐
