  • Sometimes, conflict with a coworker is just inevitable. I got a great question about "When is it time to go to your boss for help, and how do you do that without being associated with drama?"
There are two phases to this. This video is a little bit longer, but it dives in, step by step, how to do that in a really clean, professional, productive way.

what if your new boss is now playing favorites with a manipulative co-worker whose been gas lighting, manipulative, causing anxiety, have no other issues with the rest of team/managment. don't want to go to HR, as it could back fire. great advice, keep your head up everyone, there will always be haters and the devil loves causing chaos especially when we are tying to live a peaceful life. blessings.

This assumes that the people you are approaching are emotionally mature as well. Most will just laugh in your face and tell you to quit bitching

I worked for a company which is one of the biggest company 20K employees. My coworkers are new team and they are very smart (maybe except me) in technologies specialist force team each of us was individual contributor. I tried to be helpful and supportive to help people works (show the best of mine) and I understood what they experienced of high workload like sinking ships competition to meet boss expectations over 12 hours a day at least. I saw people crying many times including me crying inside =)). I worked with a task that might need one team member help but that guy refused to help because it is not his KPI and he refused to release his authority to let other take a look ( I think he wants to show his power since he thought his rank is slightly higher than me ) and asked boss permission to get approval. Talked to boss nicely that I have difficulty to get people assist to get permission only so my boss said other people has no problem why you have problems (maybe he is true my soft skills doesn't meet their expectation to ask ppl help when they are dying) so he thought I am a problem to work with others (he gave me that feedback). But other coworkers spied and listen my conversation since that guy became heated (since I asked his access and doesn't need his help anymore, he contacted boss to get confirmation) and they understood that I tried to handle the situation nicely. I had learn alot from that environments. A bad company has bad culture to have bad boss and to make some bad coworkers fit to their culture as rank empower and shoes lickers skills to survive which I refuse to learn then out. Another one, I requested services from other department and no matter how I convinced them, I reported back to my boss. He went there and his faced fighting-cock. I believed If there is a bottle, he would hit to their head and I am still junior at their level even I have 12 years serve customers as expert. Threaten staff who works 8 to 9 hours =)). I realize how bad is customer, is still very good because we have different organization borders. I had very bad experience there but I had learnt so much for my future careers. One of them is not behave like them if I am a boss and second, if I joins that similar like that organization be a big boss dying because of KPI rather than I will be under other ppl shoes. If you are as me, what should you do to make thing different? Sorry for lengthy message.
