Playing is excellent. I absolutely love the massive lead tones the super distortion gives. Tried a ton of other pickups and keep coming back to this pickup. It's like Jack Daniel's Whiskey. Try whatever else you want but at the end of the day you'll be back...
Ben Lloyd thanks alot! I agree - For lead or Dirty rhythms its absolutely great. However I Dont like the clean Sound too much... but I think this pickup is a Rocker anyway
@@olirossow3179 For sure. Wouldn't recommend it if you want glassy cleans. In my experience it responds very well to volume roll off to clean it up, but it isn't strat/tell style clean at all. But again, nobody is going to use this for that.
Alfred Hanssen thanks alot! I use the 36th anniversary in the neck. As well as vox vt 20x and an mek Compressor in Front of the amp to boost the crunch channel. Delay comes from the amp. I hope that helps!
Oli, kudos. What a a performance. The sound is top notch. The quality of playing is amazing, both feeling and spot on string banding (Gary Moore looks from above and smiles) and at the end - after burner shredding of the neck. An excellent mix between playing on the SD, moving to the PAF returning to the SD and so on. I think you have a jem in your hands as well - the guitar sounds solid, full and with a lot of presence and it looks great. I have a question that I think was posted before in regarding to the balance between the high output SD and the vintage output PAF. How do they combine? Do you feel they complement each other? Is there a major difference in volume when playing clean? Rock on.
Dr. Tsachi Perets Thanks so much man! I try to give my best... The Guitar plays really great, but back then, I really HAD to swap the Pickups. The Original Pickups were really noisy. And I don’t regret the decision. To your Pickup-question: they Blend very well together! I first had my doubts but I believe lots of guitars do come with combinations like high Output Bridge and low Output neck! You just gotta try it for yourself... I think the SD alone is Not so great for cleans. It starts to distort really fast already, Even when your completely clean. But both together it gets better. I found the Seymour Duncan Jb sh-4 much better for clean but the SD Sounds kinda a Little better distorted... I think If you put both Pickups in the same height, you wont have Volume Problems. I Never had some!
Amazing performance, with great tone and feeling, you Rock man! Please help me with this...I am about to change my Fender Floyd Rose Classic Strat to a HSH configuration and I am considering to put SD in the bridge and PAF 36th Anniversary in the neck as I loved your tone...but I don't want to hear or feel lost in power or output when I change to neck pickup during a solo in the upper notes of the fretboard...do you think I put PAF 36th Anniversary in both positions to have the same output or your configuration it is just ok regarding this? Thank you very much!!!
Thank You very much for Your comment, Andres! Believe it or not: Dave Murray from Iron Maiden used to have exactly the same configuration in his old black and white Signature Stratocaster! So I Don't think that its a bad configuration for a Strat at all! I used to have the PAF in the bridge before I had the SD, and it sounded good as well, but it was missing some output, so I went for the SD in the end and I'm very satisfied now. hope that helps. greets
Hi, PAF 36th DP103 or DP223 ? I'm thinking to install in the Bridge of my Washburn Idol guitar a DP223 in the Neck together with a SD in the Bridge. thanks!
Great toke and great playing man.. ♥️🤘♥️ Where did you get the backing track may I ask? Very cool. What amp you playing thru? Too cool. Very cool tome. That is just the best pickup IMHO.
Thanks so much man! Puh good question. Idont remember where I have it from… a big website with lots of free stuff. Too Long ago. The Amp was an Vox Modeling Amp, tonelab or something? The funny thing is that it Doesnt Sound too Great to me these days! Got some better Amps in my collection now.
@@olirossow3179 I had a box modeling amp and I thought it sounded pretty good to be honest. Too funny how perception works. Yeah I'm using a reverend tube amp now myself. But, I old and have had lots of good amps. I found you looking for a super d DiMarzio demo because I had forgot what they sounded like it's been 25 years since I had one in a shred Charvel. Well. I have another shred Charvel and I want to change the bridge out again and I'm thinking of the Super D or a tone zone or Duncan Custom. All pickups I've had and liked. Anyway. Great tone man. Really.. ♥️🤘♥️

Fantastic playing and killer tone. Thinking of getting this exact guitar, what model exactly RLG-?, any additional info would help too. If you got it off eBay from japan what seller you recommend? Thanks
Jim Jim thanks alot my friend! Get it if you have the chance, they are amazing for the value! I think its an rlg 60, thats what the seller told me. I cant recommend you anything Else than the Guitar itself 😉 Cheers

@@benlloyd3155 It responds wonderfully to volume rolloff with a 660pf/220k treble bleed kit. And Jack Daniels is and will always be disgusting

Great plying my man. I order a Dimarzio SD for bridge and Paf pro for neck for my 1998 Gibson R9. I hope it's a great combination

You Should be fine with that. The SD pairs very well with PAFs. I never had the desire to swap out my pickups!
