Ah roger. His work at Tear it up, Liar, radio gaga were unbelievably impressive. And also, he's back singer too. Not many drummer can singing along with drumming. Roger is one of those drummers who can do it.

I always thought the most amazing element of Roger’s drums was how he could do it so well, while having his neck turned completely to the side, and singing backup or leader, I can’t imagine how difficult that had to be, as well as uncomfortable!!! You rock, Roger, love you!

Anyone who can sing and play drums at the same time is pretty cool beans in my book. His high vocal harmonies are one of the pillars of their sound.
Yeah his drum kit is sound so clean and clear...especially his open close hi hat with the snare..is so perfect

Even the way Roger steps on the left pedal is incredible, so delicate from his toe to heal, incredible technique in everything.

I loved the drum battles between Roger and Rufus in the early days of QAL.
Roger is very dedicated to his craft. That's what makes him, along with Neil Peart, as one of the best drummers ever.

I love his style of play and singing but sorry he is not in the same league as the Pearts, Bonhams, or Carl Palmers in virtuso playing. More like Ringo. Plays perfectly for the song. And great harmonies.

If you ever saw Queen live, you did marvel at how they always sounded so much better than everyone else. They had a huge sound, and what jumped out at you first was the drum sound. It was enormous and obviously tuned to the hall & PA.
Sadly, I was 14 living in New Jersey about 20 minutes from NYC when their 2nd album came out. They passed through touring with Mott the Hoople but my parents wouldn't let me go into the city. By the time I was old enough to venture into the city the timing was off. Never got to see them live. 😞But I have several of their live performances on Blu-ray. It helps.
May put the Ads " need a ginger baker type drummer" and young dental student came and auditioned

Now I'm Here live at Wembley is just absolutely incredible. My favorite Drum sound of his is also from Wembley, his Toms were just beautiful and the snare was punchy. The hi hat was very cutting and yea its just amazing.

Love the drum battles. We are going to a string quartet celebration of Queen and I can't imagine how they will be without drums. I can see the cello doing the bass part and a violin doing the guitar part but how will the drum part be done?
