One of the core items from the Gravity Falls series was the coveted Journal 3. Dipper Pines used this coveted book to uncover the mysteries of Gravity Falls and years later, we are still uncovering some of the biggest secrets!

There *was* a "black light" edition of Journal 3 with all sorts of hidden secrets. And you really did need a black light to read them. It was a limited edition, so I don't know if you'll be able to find any now, but it was a real thing.
Yep! It's real! I have a copy of the black light edition and it really does have a lot of extra content that can only be seen by black light. All the limited black light edition copies are sign by Alex Hirch

You missed the creepy note from bill chipper taped on the bipper info page. It basically says that bill was going to throw dippers body of the water tower, killing dipper. The the last line of the note said “wanna join him shooting star” in journal 3

When you shine a blacklight on the category 1 ghost, it becomes HOFFIFYING. Vice versa for the category 10 ghost
When Stan took the journal from Dipper in that one episode, Stan made a copy of the whole thing, so he could have one, and Dipper could have one. This means that in the end, Ford and Dipper could both have a copy of journal 3.
I think the real mystery in gravity falls is how does Dipper fit so many stuff in his jacket?!?

Fun fact: Stanford (the real one) actually first appeared in Dreamscapers, when Gideon mentioned Stanford Pines, Bill thinks and shows a picture of the actual Stanford Pines, and then part of his book.
I think that was also Ford in the Blendin Blandin episode where Dipper and Mabel were fighting over the tape measure.

I would be down for Hirsch and others to make Dipper's journal, honestly more than a journal two or one. I wish we could see more about Dipper and Mabel's life in California, and life outside of Gravity Falls and if Dipper could find some super-natural anomalies back home.

Well I have the Journal 3 hardcover book and it's awesome, it has everything written that was seen in the show same pages , drawings everything , I thought if you use UV light on the book you can uncover secret messages hidden in the book just like in the show but sadly that wasn't it , but I still love it I got it on my birthday 1-2 years ago.

Did you know? If you flip through the pages you should find a page based upon the episode” Sock Opera” and it shows how Bill was gonna destroy journal 3 and use Dippers body to climb and jump off the water tower ended Dippers body so he can stay in the mindscape realm forever and left a note for Mable on the car floor that says the plan, what he’ll do to Dipper and asking if Mable would join. Which is really dark for a kids show🌚

On the page covered in black ink, saying things such as "I was a PUPPET" and "MY MUSE WAS A MONSTER" there are a few secret codes. Can't remember all of em', but they say this:

Right? it's very suspicious how quickly he recovered his memory, how do we know it is actually him and not Bill using his body and accessing what's left of his mind? Before he was "killed" he said he would be back again in a different form, besides he couldn't leave GF in his true form but "Stan" and Ford are immediately leaving at the end of the show, I think they left that open in case they got another season

Why would he add the zombies weaknesses in invisible ink? My assumption was that by the time he discovered the information, the page had already been filled, and the invisible ink was the only way to add the information on the appropriate page without covering the rest of the information up, since the ink is invisible in normal light, and glowing in blacklight. Besides, these were his journals; he knew about the blacklight writing, and it wasn't like he had intended to be publishing these books. As for tasting human blood, who hasn't? It's not like it's rare to bite one's tongue or inner mouth enough to accidentally draw your own blood.
If Alex Hirsh decides to make a Gravity Falls movie I have an idea for it. I call it “Gravity Falls: Back At The Shack”

In journal 3, it talks about how everything was reverted back to how it was before Bill started weirdmageddon. Including the destruction of the journals.
Can you actually see the glow and the dark writing though?
The published version DOES actually feature the black light content. I've seen it on another UA-cam channel. It helps if you actually use a black light as the light you show in the video appears to be some kinda novelty colored light which is not the same thing as a proper black light.
Black lights give off ultra violate light which is what causes certain things to glow when under the light. Taking a normal light bulb and putting a purple colored filter in front of it will not cause the same effect as it's still just a normal ordinary light bulb. No colored filter is ever going to cause the same glowing effect as a true black light.
