I think the reason Alex Hirsch made it so clear that Gravity Falls won't be continued through anything like shorts, movies, or spin-offs was to really make the viewer feel the same way as Dipper and Mabel during the ending, "Summer is over, it's all over, it's time to go home." They really wanted to audience to know that this "summer" is over and won't be the same as any other.
And I understand Mabel and Dipper go to Gravity Falls every summer anyways and will just return the next year but nothing will ever top this first summer. This is making me cry haha, I miss Gravity Falls.

That, or Ford planned the trip and it wasn't gonna take too long, but again, it's kinda implied that the trip will take an indefinite amount of time

They'll see videos of people picking apart the show, and digging up the mysteries, and that's the true Gravity Falls Season 3.

I know this will get lost in the comments, but I personally admire Alex Hirsch so much. He truly is a role model for younger people, fighting to keep a trans symbol and a lesbian couple on the show. Even though it didnt make the cut, it makes him one of my biggest role models.

As Gravity Falls still remains one of the best Disney series they have ever let air (personally), this would have been a really great show to implicitly or explicitly represent the lovely people in the LGBTQ+ community. Also, I agree with your comment: Alex Hirsch is one of those rare human beings who has found a way to be an entertainment god and representation angel. Mad respect to anything he has ever created and will create in the future because of this.
I'm glad Disney didn't allow the LGBTQ junk to be put in Gravity Falls. It's a funny, action-packed, dark yet heartwarming show that kids can enjoy and I'm glad Disney didn't want to go too far and expose children to such innapropriate themes. Too bad they ain't like that anymore!

So Disney’s okay with killing off a character’s parents for a movie… but crosses the line at Dipper snapping the neck of his “fictional” version? Kinda hypocritical if you ask me.
To be honest, the neck snapping is probably a lot more brutal.
I know this will get lost in the comments, but I personally admire Alex Hirsch so much. He truly is a role model for younger people, fighting to keep a trans symbol and a lesbian couple on the show. Even though it didnt make the cut, it makes him one of my biggest role models.

Thank you, I was looking for more of these comments. As Gravity Falls still remains one of the best Disney series they have ever let air (personally), this would have been a really great show to implicitly or explicitly represent the lovely people in the LGBTQ+ community. Also, I agree with your comment: Alex Hirsch is one of those rare human beings who has found a way to be an entertainment god and representation angel. Mad respect to anything he has ever created and will create in the future because of this.
I'm glad Disney didn't allow the LGBTQ junk to be put in Gravity Falls. It's a funny, action-packed, dark yet heartwarming show that kids can enjoy and I'm glad Disney didn't want to go too far and expose children to such innapropriate themes. Too bad they ain't like that anymore!
