If you watched Disney’s Gravity Falls week after week when the show first premiered, you probably went through dozens and dozens of theories involving the author of Journal 3, the meaning behind so many mysteries, and the secrets Stan has been keeping. Well, after 40 episodes, a lot of those mysteries have been solved and even though the series is long over -- a ton more theories continue to get posted to the web by die-hard fans. Now it’s time to dive deep back into the Mystery Shack and reveal some of the craziest fan theories which might actually be true!
While Cipher was seemingly gone for good in the show’s series finale -- this may not be the case and the one-eyed demon could easily make a return to Gravity Falls in the future. One of the craziest theories to come from this is Mabel’s connection to the future and how her fate will pan out. That future could be represented in a key scene from the first Back to the Future. Ahh, how many times have you run into a Gravity Falls fan and had the conversation of Dipper’s real name come up in conversation. For multiple years it was one of the main topics of discussion and speculation on the show. And while a lot of these presumptions were completely wrong, the reasoning behind them definitely made sense. Watch to see all of these theories and several others as we dive into Gravity Falls characters like Soo, Bill, Stan, and Ford. Some of these theories were already proven while others could come true with some confirmation in the future!

Alex hirsch actually said that the whole A.X.O.L.O.T.L thing was so that if he ever wanted to, he could continue gravity falls. Sort of something to start off of if he ever wanted to, but small enough that it won't matter too much if he doesn't continue the show.

@@snowdrops-in-july Yes, but in the case he wants to do a full crossover with another show instead of an episode with references/based around gf (like Wax Museum from amphibia) or just a full on movie/reboot, he can jump right back in where he started, and at the same time the weird cryptic Bill Cipher prophecy says "I invoke the ancient power that I MAY return." Not "I WILL return," "I MAY." So whether he starts back up or not, the prophecy can fit it.

Omg, if u look closely at Blendin Blandin's time travel uniform, when he switches it back to normal, we get a glimspe of Weird-meggedon(pretty sure I spelt that wrong), Northwest Manor, and... a boat from the past! More specifically the Stan 'O War from A Tale Of Two Stans! Blendin has been all over, and gave us a glimspe of what will happen in the future, and the event of the past!
Theory: Soos's dad died and soos's grandma tells soos the dad is alive. When she says she will kill him, she says it so soos thinks his dad is alive. Soos's grandma sends him the postcards.

Actually it’s referenced several times that Gideon is the star. The biggest is in Episode 4 (2:16 in) above Gideons tent is a giant 5 pointed star with one eye! It’s also on the money bag his dad Carrie’s, and is on several items throughout the series.

I really like Same Coin Theory, that Bill was Stan's past life and Stan is his "different form, different time." I mean, you can't deny their similarities (in both personalities and stories) and while that could just be symbolic, I'd like to think it's a bit more than that. (Plus you have the axolotl that appears breifly in Stan's aquarium, "eeny meanie miney you," "buy gold," "sixer," and the fact the blue fire ignites before Stan is hit with the memory gun). And while they're still two separate characters no matter the case, it's a fun idea to think Stan punched a version of himself into a different existence. In a way lol

one of my season 3 theories how bill will escape back into the real world is that season 3 is 10 years later (obviously) then a younger new main character finds the memory gun (idk if they threw that away but im guessing they did) and in the eppisode where the blind eye thing was you see if you use it there is ome memory capsule so when they used memory gun on stan bill lived on in the memory capsule so my guess is that he would acidently let the memory capsule fall and it would crack and bill will become free and when the 23 year old dipper and mable come back to visit gravity falls they meet the younger character (maybe it would be cool that the character is an orphan and dipper and mable adopt the character) and they meet them before the memory capsule cracked and the character would have hidden the capsule somwhere idk but later in the season then it would crack and bill would escape (also stan might be included but very mutch deaf and cant really walk too good ig) but then they will try to stop bill
"A different form, a different time". That's referring to the Bill statue treasure hunt that went on. However, that could be a hint that human Bill will be canon
I saw a theory that said that the "a different time" portion of that indicated that he could have been reborn at an earlier point than when he died, meaning that reborn Bill could exist at the same time as demon Bill. And the magical axolotl from the book stated that he needed to "absolve his crime", so of course he would need to be someone that would go on to do something that would prove he had changed. During the statue hunt, some clues encouraged people to call a specific phone number and it was actually Stan's voice that answered, but referred to the statue as "my statue". Perhaps Bill actually returned as Stan and was absolved of his crimes when he made that sacrifice. It's possible that in the time between, Stan might have gained Bill's memories and realized this, hence why he claimed the statue as his own. Bill reincarnated as Stan and stopped himself, proving that he had changed and redeemed himself. I mean, there's also the chance that Bill forced this to happen by yelling Stan's name after invoking the axolotl. This isn't my own theory, but I like it 'cause it ties a neat little bow on this whole thread and it's actually really thematically appropriate.

when you ask if bill wrote the puzzles in the journal it is true because on a page near the end of the journal 3 book ford said that bill is possessing ford when he sleeps and writing in his journal so bill wrote the puzzles when ford was asleep.

4:23 Originally season 2 was gonna start with dipper and Mabel outside and then a messed up dipper from the future shows up saying that Mabel dies and gives him a piece of paper telling him how to save Mabel and tells him not to show the paper to Mabel. Just thought that was sort of neat.

The thing is when you talked about the future changing from young Wendy and Dipper meeting might not do anything as in the episode where they first meet Blendin he is arrested and Is forced to clean up anomalies but Dipper and Mable made those anomalies. So time planned them to go back in time therefore I believe that young Wendy meeting Dipper doesn't change anything.
When you said that Soos went back to the mystery shack to use the vending machine hack and that was how he got the job that’s not true he went back to give back a screwdriver that mable and dipper left there sorry man you would of known that if you watched an episode
