  • The M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) is a light multiple rocket launcher developed in the late 1990s for the United States Army and mounted on a standard U.S. Army M1140 truck frame.
    HIMARS is the most technically advanced, affordable and sustainable artillery solution. Provides cutting-edge technology on an indigenous platform. HIMARS carries a six-pack of GMLRS rockets or one TACMS missile, and is designed to launch the entire MLRS family of munitions.

      That is what this flying super computer is built to do. People who keep saying the single engined Mach 2 (max) is inferior to Su-35, S-57, etc. haven't been following the development of this fighter jet since its inception, as well as read about the capabilities of 1960 - 90s jets like the Su's and Migs.
      Those (with their 3-D nozzles, incredibly energy inefficient engines) are exquisite to look at when they perform in slow speed airshows; buth those crowd pleasing stunts are completely useless/irrelevant in battle fields, in large volume of space where you don't know where your opponents are.
      All of those "top end" Russian jets, including the newest "5th gen" Su-57, are 1960s - 90s technologies.
      Look at the endless screws --- "loose screws" --- that can be seen on the mighty F-22, the Su-35, & the Su-57: if you could see them, with your own eyes, from hundreds of feet away, radar wouldn't have any problem bouncing off of those thousands of "loose screws."
      The FABRICATION of the F-35 is so high tech, it almost resemables those computer generated fictitious alien spaceships we see in Hollywood movies.
      Anyone who says computers, cars, airplanes, jets, or any electronics from the 1960s to 90s are better, deadlier, and/or more sophisticated than 2020 produced F-35 are just talking nonsense.
      Also, missiles today are so fast, so accurate, no manned or unmanned fighter jet is going to out run or out accelerate them. Missiles in 5-8 years are even faster... so just because you could fly 500 MPH faster, on average, than the F-35, it means NOTHING to those missiles!
      That, again, is why the US decided to build a physically average F-35 but give it the most powerful radar & most computer system, so it could see better & farter than all others, as well as, guilde another jet or missiles... in addition to doing all other normal tasks other normal jets could do.
      And, yes, including the ability to take off and land VERTICALLY, as well as hover & swivel like a helicopter, too (F-35B). In extreme contingencies, the F-35's next level capabilities will allow it to land in isolate dirt roads, deserts, valleys, and mountain outcrops inexcessible to the enemies; and before they could mount long range rockets on it, it's gone...

    To the average viewer 150k to 700k per rocket might sound crazy expensive (most things related to military are), but when you consider the high accuracy and the range to reach critical targets and destroy them reliably, ease of transport and relatively low maintenance and crew requirements, this system seems VERY cost-effective overall.

    HIMARS is the most modern, flexible, highly destructive and precise missile system. Unlike other rocket launchers, this one has a fast loading speed (each tube is not loaded separately with a rocket), the rockets come already pre-installed in a rack of 6 compact rockets that mounts directly on the launch pad. Thus, time is saved, which becomes a price factor in a war of which to which. In addition, the electronic system on the guidance board is very well developed.👌👍

    • @bekeneel
      @bekeneel Рік тому +11

      Not hypersonic, but that's not necessary either since russia has no airdefense against it lol. The distance is nice especially to kill artillerly that can't hit you, and a truck is pretty easy to drive away and keep safe. Counter artillerly would be very effective too in Ukraine.
