    Always spray the electrical connector shells with WD-40. It will wash out the dust & dirt and you will be surprised how easy the connectors come apart.

    Hey Scott, while you're in there, replace the trans dip stick tube O ring at the base of the tube. They dry up and crack pretty often because of that light-off cat right next to them, and when they do, you get a nice big red puddle on the ground. And to get to it, you have to drop the whole exhaust H pipe because that cat is right in the way.

I can’t wait to see the next video drop. I will wait patiently as I know sometimes things just don’t happen as quickly as we like. Watching you pulling that engine out reminded me of my 69 AMC Ambassador. I bought it with transmission issues and got it cheap. I was starting to pull the transmission when something dripped in my face. After spotting 3 core plugs that were wet, I decided to pull the engine and transmission together. It was so much easier to get to the core plugs and lining up the transmission and engine when I put it back in was a breeze. It also made fixing some hillbilly engineering on the wiring easier to correct. That was in 97 and I drove that car for 3 round trips from Middle Tennessee to Houston Texas. It was the best riding car I've ever owned. They don't build cars like that anymore.

    The injector connectors ( called "salt and pepper shakers") can be removed by squeezing the tabs in, that is why they have a split on the lock tabs.

    • @vehcor
      @vehcor  Рік тому +4

      I’ll take “sure fire way to break the connector tabs for $1000”, Alex. You are right, that is what the engineer intended but like most things engineers dream up, it doesn’t work quite like it did on paper. Sure it will be very easy to disconnect and reconnect but getting it to stay connected without the tabs is the tricky part. You see, pushing the tab allows it to slide around the lock on each side. That pulls the tabs perpendicular to the direction they are molded. 30 year old plastic isn’t forgiving.

      Can I finish it first? How can I give you a price when I don’t know a cost?

    Was it in the late seventies or very early eighties when the Mustang 5.0 first came out?. I remember hearing on the radio soon after that the Government was looking into whether this vehicle was too unsafe. I believe too many people, especially young people were getting killed in them. Then again that would probably help boost sales.

    I’ve owned fords since I was 15 before I got my license and never had to push them. Now Chevy on the other hand I have had to push a few and even some that weren’t mine.

      If your theory is that if you buy it, you will never have another rusted bolt… I can’t think of a better reason to buy one. Heck, I’d buy two and I’m cheap! 😂
