I had a ‘90 GT convertible. I bought it used. It had an auto transmission. I drove it home and ordered everything I needed to put in a World Class T-5 transmission, 3:55 rear gears, subframe connectors, under hood shock tower triangular brace, ‘95 Mustang five bolt front spindles, 5 bolt rear axles, larger throttle body and cold air kit. It was a way different car than the one I drove home when I bought it. No engine internals but it was awesome. I miss it. This vid brought back great memories.

Am I the only person who has had exceptionally good luck with Fords? My everyday driver is a 1996 Ranger that still looks new, drives great, and will probably reach 400,000 miles by October.

@@jeffgoddard4100I've had a good run, but most have been modern affairs. 15 Fiesta ST, 15 Fiesta SFE (1.0), 15 Ecostang, 13 1.6 ecoboost Fusion (with manual, rareeeee), and a Taurus Sho sprinkled in there too. All were dead reliable despite lots of abuse.
I'm very sure I am a total outlier though.

As the former owner of a 93 GT that was very similar to this one, I have to say all of your pokes and jabs at Fords, Mustangs and their owners had me rolling. Glad to see this car in your hands, I know that you'll do it justice. I traded my GT in back in 1998 for a Jeep ZJ. Even though that Jeep lasted me for the next 20 years and 220k miles I still felt bad giving up my Mustang. Long story short, a few years later I found my paperwork on it and I figured that I'd try to track down the new owner and see if they'd be willing to sell it. To my surprise it never made it off the dealer lot (well at least not to a new owner) The dealer's son took the car off the lot about a week after I traded it in and got into a wreck and totaled it out. Was a sad day for me for sure. Best of luck with this build. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for your next videos on it!

I just rewatched the latest on the 93 drop top build. I purchased a 92 drop top this spring, it's a great runner and not in need of anything major but I really appreciate seeing how you navigate removal and installation of various parts of this car. There's no factory instruction or tech manual that can ever take the place of seeing it done real time. Thanks for being so detailed in your videos... can't wait to see this car finished!

As a retired Mechanical cad designer I can totally agree with you! Early CADD was pretty primitive and even as recently as 2011 I was appalled by the perceptions of what CAD could do well, but actually could not. I especially loved when companies claimed how the various CAD platforms were TOTALLY compatible with each other! LOL I spent more time fixing, rebuilding, reconfiguring, redesigning problems that either never should have happened or could have easily been avoided.

@@markmccallion2856 brother, I'm a Land Surveyor and have been using CAD software for ever and is so overrated. The problem is that there's a generation of people that decided that whatever we have to draw has to be in CAD but they do not bother understanding how ever it is CAD works and the limitations, although I have to say that mechanical drawings in CAD has come leaps and bounds neater than land survey implementations.

The last time I was in Chicago; I rented one of those. 1998, IIRC. January, midnight. Had to be in Rockford in the morning, this was the last thing on the Hertz parking lot. Half buried in a snow bank. 5.0 convertible Mustang. The perfect winter weather car for N. Illinois. Not.
the reason this car has sll this new stuff and then got wrecked, was they bought it used from a dealer and this was the only thing not selling in January. Promptly went out and smacked some poor honda because it wouldn't stop on frozen roads. :)

👍👌👏 Great purchase, congratulations! I like this car and I would love to own it (although it's black). Fir being 30 years old it is in a great condition. Just over 100.000 mls isn't much amd the car looks well looked after. I'm eagerly looking forward to watch the next video part.
Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and health in particular.

Nice to see you are moving up in the world and finally build a decent car. There is no 30 year old GM that is as good as that 5.0.

I started getting all nostalgic for our E Series Falcons of the same vintage - those power windows! Once a car got to a few years old every window had its own quirks, typically one that was sort of OK, two that moved weird and made robot death noises, and one that had totally given up. 90's cars really were like wives - because you loved the overall package you came to accept a few inherent flaws.

This is the last year of the Fox body mustang. And a 5.0. for 30 years old other than the accident in very nice condition. Could easily be a nice driver collectable car.

There's a place in Chatsworth CA that's been buying up all the used and junked/salvaged Mustang Fox bodies for years. I forgot the name of the place but they are the go-to place for used Mustang 5.0 parts and cars.

I had to do that old school repair when I was a teenager. The gas struts on my Mercury Capri let go and drove the hatch latch into the back of my head. My reaction was to slam the hatch hard enough to trip the fuel shutoff. Luckily I had overheard a conversation of this happening to someone's Aerostar van or I would have been stumped why my car shut off when I slammed the hatch.

My 90 LX Notchback has leaky AC. Also changed the water pump twice and the plastic fan was cracking at the hub so that done as well. All parts cheap. Also alternator but all issues were time based as I bought it new and now it is old like me. Last thing I did was the heater core....not fun and the speedo cable is not connected need to go back in and do that again....grrr. Oh the door jamb bushings cracked away got new ones on Amazon just last month they were $14 for a set of 4. Cheap again. Great car not a problem with anything. Cheap fixes. I do not drive it in winter never have as that is useless. Have owned all of the big three. Loved my 350 Quadrajet and my fuelie 302 and my Hemi Durango. Dodge products are the easiest or most sensible to work on... then GM and Ford last.

I bought an 88 mustang lx with the gt package in like 94. I went to the car wash one day. When I was leaving the car wash the car shut off. I had to call a tow truck. Come to find out. There was an anti theft key under the steering wheel and dash. I was poking around and found the key under the seat. I plugged it in and it started just fine. 😂😂😂😂. Whatttttt!!!!! Very fast car for the year
