What If Ride The Lightning Was on The Black Album?

- Metallica's ''Ride The Lightning'' from the album ''Ride The Lightning'' (1984) as if it was recorded in 1991, for the album ''Metallica'' (a.k.a. The Black Album).
Guitars, bass were recorded by us, drums were programmed by us with Hydrogen (The Drum Machine) using our BLACK ALBUM drum tone! All the vocals put into the AI were from the original track and live performances using a Black Album AI Model (made by Hanzel Kyse)
Video shots from Black Album Deluxe Box Set's studio outtakes
SPECIAL THANKS to @thunderfrost102 for his Black Album bass IRs and advice on how to use them correctly, to @BobbyHuff for creating a super realistic Black Album kick drum, to everyone who has uploaded stems for Black Album songs and @metalivoices for helping with the thumbnail!
This is made just for FUN and we are not looking to earn any money from these type of videos.
Enjoy and stay metal \m/

Guys, we've seen that many were disappointed by the result of this project and we want to apologize for it! We'll try our best to improve our sound! But for those who are talking about lack of low ends we recommend you give a listen to the old classic black album mix. That's how we hear it but we may be wrong... Anyways, thank you for watching!
I'm not disappointed at all by this awesomeness 😁😁
@@hayleeTC Thank you!!!
Sounds pretty damn good 2 me lol sounds a little slower but heavy r than the original .
Can’t get enough of That solo part 😂
it's impossible to make everyone happy
@@TheWatchernatorMade me happy 😂
3:44 this whole section and the ending gave me chills (amazing vocals btw)
Thank you so much!!!
I have no idea how you did the voice; if it's AI or an actor, this is probably the most accurate voice I have ever heard on this "what if" genre of Metallica. Good job brother
Thank you so much!!! Vocals are AI!
Metallica: Alternative Universe
Thank you!!!
Imagine a universe where Metallica started with, say, Lulu and then progressed to Kill 'em All.
That is amazing sounds if this song ride the lightning were on the metallica black album 🎸 🥁 🎤 🎵 ⬛
Thank you!
Suggestion : If Darkness Had a Son on The Black Album or on AJFA
We can try Black Album!!!
That’s a really good pick. I’d love to hear it
@@vidsontheside_ We found out it has already been done... We might try it though!
Love that drum tone
Thank you!
I don't know what these people are about. This is siiickkk 🤘
Thank you so much for the support!!!
😮 very good 🎧🎼🎸
Great job, sounds really cool!
Thank you so much!!!
Love it. My only gripe is that it could’ve been mixed better. There seems to be more guitar coming through the left speaker. Drums are brilliant tho, as well as the voice model. Good work overall!
Thank you very much!!!
Hear me out here. 1991 James Hetfield on Tool's H.
What do you mean?
I have a good ear, and with the exception of the solo volume which I find a little low (just 0 .5 db), I think your sound is accurate. Your voice is good and your solo is very well executed! We cannot please everyone. It’s a song that hardly lends itself to this treatment. I think some people expect to find the same energy as in the original, but undoubtedly the song needs to become softer. I appreciate it! And don't worry, you're always improving and your next covers will prove it to us!
Thank you so much again!!!
How tf are you hearing something off by 0.5 db?
@@LRM5195 Some people actually can! You shouldn't be so rude though he is trying to help... Thank you for watching!
@@BlackHoleNoises Firstly, my comment was friendly and quite positive in case some people think otherwise. Secondly, I have no difficulty hearing a difference of 0.5 decibels, whether between two musical tracks with such a difference or otherwise between what I hear and what I want to hear. I have extremely keen hearing, that’s a fact. Third, as I took the trouble to specify in my comment: we cannot satisfy everyone, and that includes me. So this small difference of 0.5 db that I would like to hear on the solo, it is very personal to my listening experience. I'm not always satisfied with the sound I hear on the CDs I buy. I'm sure this happens to you too. But it's personal. My comment is honest. I wouldn't bother commenting to tell lies or denigrate someone who worked very hard on a project. I write to encourage, to indirectly give clues and leads, without pretending to know everything. But I don't want to be laughed at.
@@pierredesgranges7305 Oh we are so sorry for this emoji... We will delete right away! We didn't mean it in a bad way, we just found the other person's comment kind of funny! We apologize again! We didn't mean to be rude to you after all your support and help on this channel you've shown! You seem like a really nice person and we are so sad to find out we have offended you...
not dissapointment this is amazingly fun
I'm so thankful for this channel, oh lord 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thank you!!! 🤘
More james roarrr !!!!
Not enough yeah yeah’s
LMFAO!!!! That Kirk solo has me rollin!!!!
Thank you!!!!
You just made this channel's version of load. And it's still quite a good effort!
What do you mean?
@@BlackHoleNoises as in the track was a bit divisive in it's reception. May not have been what people were expecting when thinking about the combination of two eras but I think everyone can recognize the effort.
@@sppspharmdude ohh ok! Thank you!!
BRO UR SO GOOD
Thank you so much!!!
Vocals sound good
Thank you!

Exelente

The black lightning
❤❤❤❤
Marvelous
Thank you so much!
Honestly, this takes away from the dark angry feel of Ride The Lightning
Woaaaaaaaaaaaaaah i do love it
Thank you so much!!!
As always, thanks for the effort and hours you put in this. Yes it needs some improvement but gives an idea how it can be in the final version.
The snare rolls sounds a bit artificial. Needs some human dynamics.
The vocals need some re-work on some parts. Let's just imagine how James would sing this song on 1990. For example Bob Rock wouldn't let him scream when singing "death in the air". So changing the vocal melodies is an option too. How can it be done? Singing some of the parts can be an option maybe. A good Black Album James AI might fix all after that. Worth a try IMO.
Thank you! We couldn't find any other vocal melody and to be honest, we spent 2 whole days trying to make the vocals sound like this... The snare are artificial indeed...
Should get some extra wah on that solo. Should do a remix of this to fix those little imperfections youve noticed, and since you're on your blaco album bandwagon id recommend you try dream no more. I feel like it would work very well, and you guys are doing well in the most recent vid. Props to ya for making ur own shit! Too bad i have minimal guitar skills!
Don't worry, you will absolutely get great one day! Thank you for all the great words! Dream No More is hard because of the vocals. There are 2 voices and the AI gets really confused... We'll see though!
@@BlackHoleNoises oh I know about all that. Just separate the back vocals and it solves the issues at hand. It's a little difficult, but is possible.
@@GreenmiIe Do you know how we can do that?
@BlackHoleNoises forgot abt this comment, it's a ai program of vocal extraction, and new ai conversions do it for you.

I could see this being on the black album along with from whom the bell tolls and Harvester of sorrow and possibly to live is to die
True!
Yeah this sounds exactly like the Black Album cassette I have except the bass isnt ALLLLLL the way there but for christ sake this album was made in a million dollar studio with Bob Rock. Tremendous stuff my only gripe is the tempo. I feel it should have been a touch faster but other than that this one is going on the playlist lmao!
Thank you so much!!! You mean bass frequencies or the bass guitar?
@@BlackHoleNoises More on the drums. The guitar is fantastic. The drums, when they slam they don't have that THUD in the speakers. I'm also noticing more guitar coming through in my left speaker
@@StarfruitStirfry Thank you for the advice!!!!
@@BlackHoleNoises You did a great job either way bro I don't mean to complain!
@@StarfruitStirfry Yeah we weren't offended! We just thanked you for helping! We sat down yesterday (with a little bit of help from a professional producer!) and managed to make the sound even GREATER! We are looking forward to release a new one with this production!
Sounds crazy. Don't know what this is about. The comparission between different Album
Thank you! What did you mean to say on the last two sentences though?
You made an actual thumbnail again nice also sounds great despite the sloppiness and the vocals could have a bit more of an effect put on them
Thank you! Why do you say it's sloppy though? Sorry if you didn't enjoy it... What would you change?
@@BlackHoleNoisesIt's not sloppy, the playing is well done.
@@BlackHoleNoisesno i enjoyed it a lot still, I just think it could have been played more a tiny bit more neatly is all in order to compete with some of the greats like SOM and Bryce
@@vermiculos Honestly we pretty much believe it's ok, but we get your point. Anyways, thank you for watching!
@@Maggai Thank you!!!
Sounds nice but the guitar sounds thin, at least layer 3 tracks for a better sound
Thank you! There actually three layers of guitar tracks though...
@@BlackHoleNoises Might need to work on the mix then lol, keep it up!
@@emiromus Thank you! What would you change though?
@@BlackHoleNoises Well you could try the changing panning technique and do it like 80L/C/100R and maybe tweak with the tracks audio levels. I know the original guitar mix of the album is left channel boosted but yours sound like only just mono left track. So I'd say adjust the audio levels and pans 'till it sounds like a thick wall :)
@@emiromus Thank you!
1:25x speed goes hard
Well, it sounds weird that fast... Thank you for watching!
Pls re-record it and make it chunkier. Low end is sorely lacking from guitars and bass. I'm diggin the video editing though!
Have you heard the original mix of The Black Album? It has that many trembles... Sorry if you didn't enjoy it...
@@BlackHoleNoises I liked your arrangement a lot, but I didn't get that Bob Rock feel from your production/recording. Sad But True is SO CHUNKY.
@@aldoelektrika The mix we tried to recreate was Don't Tread On Me and Enter Sandman...
Just about 15% too slow ImO but other than that great job
Соло обрезать не надо было. Сделать, как в оригинале 6:30
The part we trimmed was the really fast one and didn't fit with the rest of the song... Plus, since it's waaaay slower than the original, the solo would have been half of the song (and maybe little boring). So instead, we took the riff James plays under the fast solo and made a cool bridge for the next verse. Sorry if you didn't like it, we'll try to keep the full solos the next time!
@@BlackHoleNoisesabstain from replying to the comments written in that language. Might be talking to a potential Z-patriot.
@@run-of-the-mill What do you mean?
@@BlackHoleNoises it's better to abstain from replying to the comments written in that language altogether because usually, those who leave them are the ardent supporters of the ruZZian so-called “special military operation” in Ukraine (hence the “Z-” part in my previous comment).
this one sounds kinda weak without the driving bass, but it's still cool! 🎸
Thank you! We think that's how it would be on that album...
Best song playing call of duty with
