I never realized how much this song had the structure of a justice song already. I always thought it felt weird on master, but now I know why.
I feel like the songs in master sound more triumphant with that nice chunky guitar tone and bass
I think master of puppets songs sound like master of puppets songs. They all have similar structures, singing, type of downstrokes, etc. This is a lot less intricate song with less stops and a basically a straightforward motion unlike and justice songs. I love these ideas, I've seen more of these videos. The tone is almost exactly, BUT it lacks the hostile palm mute resonance. Take that in account. The only bass and justice has comes from that palm mute resonance. It almost saturates, so it's impossible to miss. Now, what i think would be the best idea is making every metallica song like master of puppets, but that is because i think that album is perfection
Musically, sonically, everything works perfect. My opinion of course
Ulrich Told Heroes And battery Was one Song Idea and they Divided it. Doybled the $$$$
@@Vergilxx i find it hard to believe that, since those 2 songs are nothing alike. The tempo, the riffs, the intention, the vocals, but let's say it was like that. The one that composes songs is not ulrich, but hetfield. Also, you are arguing against doing two great songs? I mean, if one idea was so good that made space for two amaxing songs it talk wonders of the creativity of hetfield and how lucky we are.
@@Vergilxx Heroes and Damage Inc you mean? There's an early demo of Heroes where it breaks into the Damage Inc riff halfway through.
Similarly, Sanitarium and Orion started off as the same track. (In fact if you take the descending guitar harmonies from the intro of Sanitarium, and reverse them, so that they ascend in pitch instead, you can hear that in Orion as the interlude begins!)
the reverse intro from Blackened being played normally in this was a very nice, subtle detail I really appreciate
What in the world are you talking about? There's no blackened intro in this track!
@@joningram4187 yes there is. 2:40 but it is played in the "correct way", as the original blackened intro is reversed
Good ear, mate. It's really there. :)
imagine if it were incorporated in the entire album like how pink floyd did in the wall with that one riff
@@echozulu-six4045 well...maybe you're right. It's very similar at least...
2:41
the blackened intro here sounds just amazing.
the fact you can't hear the bass makes this audio perfect
Hahaha...refer my comment.
Heroes is a pre-AJFA song. The prog/technical structure is very much alike, showing the way the band would go a few years later.
I've always said it and Leper showed where they would go next, like how Horseman's bridge showed a lot of what their direction on Ride would be.
Prog haha. But you're not wrong.
Not as Proggy as Maiden's SSOASS but neat nonetheless.
Disposable Heroes always felt more like an AJFA song to me, so this is great
Still works really well on puppets. Great way to start the second side of the album as well.
Damage inc too, something about that just screams AJFA to me.
@@JoshSingleTon2 i think disposable heroes and damage inc are the most master of puppets songs followed by battery they represent the feeling of hate
Fr
It works better on justice
Bruh the fuckin blackened intro thrown in was siiiick. Its always like rediscovering Metallica all over again
Justice is killer! That album just sounds mean!
Well in truth James was still grieving over Cliff's death so yeah he was really pissed off at that time.
Was mean to Jason’s bass too
I agree, the dry production gives it a meaner heavier sound than the previous Metallica albums
Agree. Totally savage.
@@jpettltd James wasn't. Lars was, as he's the one that stayed wherever the hell they were mixing it and that's where it all went wrong. However, the way their guitars sound on that album is literally what does it for me... They were absolutely incredible tones!
Why do James' vocals sound PERFECTLY suited to this? The guitar sounds incredible now. This is album ready.
I LOVE the incorporation of the blackened intro (normal ways) around the 3 minute mark! Pure Mastery
2:40-3:23
Here's the Blackened Intro riff in case you want it.
Drums sound much closer than the first version! Guitar tone's sounding clean too, and I love the fact that you've changed a few things from your original rework as well.
I swear, this channel is the absolute best new MetallicA content since Justice, and it's not even really them, it's some total badass whos skills are at the highest level achievable by mortal man
You take a mortal man
And put him in control
all those 3 years of production research absolutely paid off. this is one of my top fav reworks and this revision smokes the fuck out of it by miles
Expecting the bass around 0:30 and nothing happens. lol
Who'd've thought you could improve Disposable Heroes? Every* Metallica song should be Justice'd.
*excluding Anesthesia
I've been a Metallica fan since 1985 and I think this sounds like shit. 😄 I went apeshit over Justice when it came out, like everyone did, but it hasn't aged well for me at all.
idk man, nothing will ever beat the original for me
I love both Justice and Master of Puppets, but for me nothing is ever gonna beat the combination of guitar tone, brutal drum sound and beautiful, heavy bass on Master of Puppets
@@fclefjefff4041 u just have bad taste is all dont worry
@@progfox I'm not worried. 😄 Justice is wildly overrated
@@fclefjefff4041 jUstICe iS wiLDly oVeRraTed 🤓
2:41 made me smile so wide
My only criticism, at 3:32 after the line "Sounding of the clock that ticks, get used to it somehow" It really needs the original fill in there.
The way it is atm is too repetitive for a Justice redo.
Apart from that it's still a banger fam.
You're doing gods work.
Now give me The Unforgiven I on St Anger. 😄
mama said kill em all
Yeah I was really hoping for something new right there. I personally envisioned like maybe a gallop riff for a couple seconds
I was really hoping for a redo of your version of Wherever I May Roam in AJFA style
That desperately needs a rework!
At this point you can release on your youtube channel the full Master of Puppets album in AJFA style.
@@StateOfMercury let's fucking GOOOOO
@@StateOfMercury nice
Awesome, dude!
I wish AJFA had a bass sound like Iron Maiden have on their albums
AJFA has the best distortion and production of all! Sick of hearing about the lack of bass which is a myth people believe. Have you ever heard AJFA on a good sound system?
@@metler7642 i think Sennheiser headphones are good enough if you are talking about sound systems. Have YOU ever heard And Justice For Jason version of this album? I don't think so, mate.
@@metler7642 there is not a lack of bass in the production frequency wise! There is a lot of oomph in the guitars but there is no denial that there is no bass-instrument present in the mix. That is what upsets the people
@@OzanRocks Each to their own I heard it but the bass ruins it for me.
but AJFA played from a quality CD player is chunk as fuck.
Other good distortion albums:
Sepultura Arise
Deicide OUAC
Cannibal corpse Butchered at birth
Pantera Vulgar
Megadeth RIP
etc.
To me AJFA is perfect in every way & possibly the best metal album of all time.
Peace brother
@@metler7642 Ok but it's a legitimate point. I've heard justice a LOT so I can definitely hear the bass but it's not really an element of the song. It would be so much better if it was louder.
This really is the best new Met content since the '80s!
That Blackened intro is amazing backward or forward.
I can't stop listening to this at work every day.
Please do the whole record…I’ll buy it 😂 I love it!
I really think you improved this one a lot, it sounds more like it should be on the album and although i miss all the double bass in the original rework, it's unrealistic that *that* much of it would be on the album, despite the album having a lot of it to begin with. Nice work! I'm very excited to see the new Master of Puppets one!
Holy shit! Now this fits incredibly well with One
2:41 PURE GENIUS
Shortest Straw/Frayed Ends on MOP!!! Frantic on LULU...I double dare ya! Love your hard work!!! Wish I had a clue how to do music or computers. Made me listen to 80s music again, THANK YOU!!!
Wow dude… How did you know that and justice for all tone? No joke if someone would’ve played this for me and said it was a demo track I totally would’ve believed them lol
Blackend in between is amazing 🔥🔥🔥🔥
How do we know James didn't time travel here from 88 and start this channel? Think about it, have you ever seen James and StateOfMercury in the same room?
the unnamed feeling in the black album!
Structurally *and* tonally this is a Justice song by heart, no wonder this fits so well!
Can you make a "making of" video for one of these vids in the future. Really curious how you make these
This brings a whole new level of bitterness and hostility to the song. Really good stuff.
During the main riff before the uptempo break, I have an uncontrollable urge to start singing “JUSTICE IS LOST, JUSTICE IS RAPED, JUSTICE IS GONE!” Can’t explain why……😅
Been coming back on and off for 2 weeks without getting tired of this, that's how you know it's good. Repeat Button: 2:41
🔥💯💯💯
back to the front parts were so fucking good
This is quality work. Maybe one of your best? I'm a way I think it sounds like almost an...enhanced AJFA version, like something they might've made years after touring and listening to their own material.
I honestly have no words except, "holy fucking shit"
02:40 -- OMFG !!!
Fantastic work boss, well done.
Amazing, as usual! Thank you very much.
I like this redo. Great job!
This is seamless. Absolutely love it!
Very amazing work! Love the Chanel!
You definitely rule at doing this!! I'm enjoying your stuff more and more!! Cheers!
This is badass!! Superb!! Holy hell!! I’m looking forward to the next one!!
Wow. So beautiful. The way you incorporated that balckened intro. Beautiful !!! 💯🙌
it Sounds so organic and natural
I misread it's orgasmic and natural. My dirty mind speaks the truth
Freaking epic! Loved it ! Thought I heard a lil spit out the bone 🦴 in guitar solo! Right on brotha
Thanks Merc, for another epic mix 🤘 Merry Christmas brother 🤘
Welcomed back bro after all of this happened keep it up! Metalass never dead! 🤘🏻👹
I'm seriously *IN LOVE* with this !! :O
Certainly and BY FAR your *BEST* work, along with "What if Seek & was on Master..." and "What if To Live was on Ride" ! :P
One of my favorite songs from Master. Just sounds incredible like this.
top tier ear candy right here. amazing work.
...And Justice For Heroes! 🤘💀🤘
And Justice For All Disposable Heroes
This is masterfully done.
I love ajfa's agressive riffs.
Love how you utilised the reversed intro of AJFA in the instrumental sections, very cool 👍
excellent array! nice job man, that's perfect, GREAT BRO!!! (Y)
I heard that blackened intro lol very nice
Man that big kick drum really sounds good
*PERFECTION!* 🤘
You have to make the day that never comes on and justice for all, it seems like it belongs there
This sounds insane. I love it
Bro you are the master of remixing metallica songs man
This is so perfect. I would pay money to shake your hand
I like how there's still no bass XD. that's legit right there m8 well done!
I just want to tell you I love what you're doing keep it up this is great have you thought about doing that with korn
I heard something weird in background but i realised it was bass XD
AI so incredble to mixing great new heavy song fresh
This is straight up BADASS!
That guitar tone is a razor man!!! It is my favorite!
This is insane sounds so good.
That's great man
Dude...................you are amazing.
That was fun.
I always wondered what Justice would sound like if Cliff was involved
I love your work ! But if I might add, the verse deserves more drum transmissions, since the original has a bunch of them and Justice is full of em through out the album 😇
State of mercury rules 🤘
You do the great job, downright amazing ! For the all songs from Metallica.
And no bass (I can’t hear much if any bass on my phone). You nailed it!!!
Wow, thanks. It's my favorite song off Master and AJFA is my favorite album
That use of the Blackened intro riff is *chefs kiss*
Love this so much
This is great!
This is honestly like almost it’s own song and I absolutely love it
Love that justice non reversed intro bridge
Wish they would remaster all of their albums based on Justice....
I was really stoned when I first heard this so I was worried it sounded better than it actually was. Now that I'm back sober I can confirm it's as good as I thought it was. I'm sure everyone says this but I'm amazed how this actually sounds like something they would release.
Absolutely love this one man great work!! Been following you for awhile and love everything man!! Definitely would love to see the harvester of sorrow one you did redone. Love it but feel like it's missing that main riff that's in the original song in the beginning before vocals. Anyways great work again bro this is amazing!!!! I show all my friends
1:30 one of those riffs I hear and think wish I thought of that
Now I wish "Disposable Heroes" was on AJFA🤯
2:45 I shit myself when I realized what that harmony was. So good
Absolutely compatible!
Just as good as the last one. 10/10 🤘🔥
I just want Of Wolf and Man on MOP….
This is perfect
man you're a stone cold genius
This song always felt right to be on justice to me. Just with what the song is about especially but this song also stands out from the rest of the puppets album. Either album it's on the song is absolutely incredible.
