I am not too worried about the actual virus; but I do worry about airlines going out of business, being quarantined far away from home, and the devastating effect of the world wide economy which affects every one of us. At first I was nowhere near happy about cancelling my upcoming flights w/ PAL to GenSan, Cebu, and Legazpi next month. And then I watched this, and you're right sir, better be safe than possibly facing those 14-days; I'm at ease now about having to give up my summer vacation (and 4 flights as sad as it sounds) after watching this. On the other hand, yes, PAL Express has gone from serving small pastries around 2 years ago to... serving girl scout cookies. Meh... 😅
Correct. Those destinations will always be there. Now’s a good time to just stay home and spend time with loved ones. Perhaps even save up for a dream trip later on when situation improves. As for “Girl Scout Cookies”... hahaha! Yeah, quite disappointing. I didn’t continue my elite status with PAL this year so i can fly other airlines. Air Asia seems ok for me- for P140 i get to have a hot meal on board. Extra kilos isn’t as expensive too. 😊
Kind gestures of sharing your own face masks, but worrying of seeing staff of PAL at the check-in counters NOT wearing face covers. Sana mapansin ng managemenr para naman sa safety not only the passengers but also the staff too. Stay safe on your travels bro👍
That time, ECQ wasn’t implemented yet and masks weren’t strictly imposed (other than this was the time masks were running out everywhere). Management was able to do something about it afterwards, but a few weeks after, airport terminals had to shut down. You know what happened afterwards. 😔
With what’s happening lately, my plans for now is to save up while i can’t fly anywhere. Now’a a good time to just stay home and spend precious time with family members. When I get to save up, I plan to visit Russia later this year if situation improves. 😊
I dont think they’re scamming people. Think about it- it’s not just you who’s affected. Perhaps there are hundreds, if not thousands, trying to call their line and there are only a number of employees to accommodate everyone. Nobody likes getting into this situation, whether from your end or from the airline’s. Other than calling... Have you gone to any of PAL’s ticket office? Coz i just didnt wait and rant, wasting time like what you’re doing now, and i instead went to a ticket office and had my ticket refunded, and it was quick; no questions asked. During these times you need some patience and understanding, and most of all getting your butt off the couch and do something about it. Now go do your part. Nobody’s gonna spoonfeed you.

I see... that you didn't tell me. If that's the case, I hope you accept my apologies. Some people would write the same thing without doing anything, and since you said you even went to their office, I now understand. One thing I can think of to help you is perhaps to write an email to customer support, as it will serve proof that you have been trying to keep in touch with them. I also advise that you check their website for advisories if they have updates in extending or waiving penalties. I somewhat understand your situation as I almost lost money over a ticket on another airline; it can be very frustrating. I hope things would turn out in your favor soon.
